Chapter 6: Essences is expensive
I wake up in the early morning. I smile. I am so comfortable. But the check out time is when the sun is up in the sky. So I guess that's noon to these people. I noticed yesterday that the people here all have weirdly coloured skin and strange eye colours. I mean I know that silver is a rare eye colour back home (Earth ). But then something else gets me wondering. The guy at the shop said American Dollars. So do people randomly wake up here all the time. Because that's what happened to me. I yawn I take a quick morning shower. Then after brushing down my hair with a comb that was provided I head down to the lobby. They have some breakfast. There is a oat meal like concoction that tastes like sweet cinnamon. I have two bowls of the stuff and then drink some water. Checking my profile I see thirst and hunger are both at 10. I smile a little. I am not as happy and joyful as I was yesterday. But I feel refreshed and ready to explore. I am still thinking about taming animals and selling them when a voice jerks me away from my thoughts.
" Your new here right?" It says and a maid in a cute outfit comes and sits by me. Her skin is a light green her hair is a white colour and her eyes are a deep green. She's cute, in a little sister kind of way.
" I am new here. " I say smiling at her. It hard not to she looks like a - .
" I'm peppermint. " Haha. That's what I was just thinking. She looks like a little peppermint.
" Your name matches you. I'm Lillith. " I say. Its been a while since I said my own name.
" Your name doesn't really match you. I was thinking more like Sunset. Or cream soda. " She says ruffling my hair. I laugh a little. Yeah, Sunset dose sound like me. I should change my name.
" Haha. yeah that would match me. It just how do you change my name. " I say. She sighs as a older woman shoots at her. She waves away without a good bye. I feel a little bad. I distracted her from her job. I know when my friends did that I would be mad. But she seemed more reluctant. Like she wanted tundra and chat. She also looks like she would like to leave. I need to leave pretty soon. The sun had gone up quite a bit. I still have 200 tillos left and would like to get a fire essence.
I head up to my room at the motel and grab my stuff. I snatch the comb and a towel. My parents always told me not to do that. I sigh as I leave. I leave to motel and see the street packed with plenty of multi colored people. I head around. There are little shops around. I see a shop that says : Essences For Sale. AI head into the shop. I ask one simple question.
" How much is a fire essence. " The guy at the counter looks up. His skin is an ugly brown colour.
" 800 tillos per essence. " He says a little grin on his face. I shake my head and leave. Why is elemental essence so expensive? I walk around for a while then sir on a bench. I think I will leave soon. Then I see someone familiar.
" Peppermint! "
