Chapter 23: Chapter 23

Ada drove to Madeline's house. After parking the car, she popped open the car trunk and took out the shopping bags. Madeline tried to help, but Ada quickly stopped her. "Miss, this is my responsibility. I will bring all of these shopping bags to your room!"

"Thanks," Madeline said, knowing there was no point in trying to help Ada since Ada was so determined to become her bodyguard, driver, and occasional errand girl. 

Madeline allowed Ada to enter her house and went straight to her room. She put all of the shopping bags down and took a few steps back before leaving the room.

Ada bowed politely, "I'll be leaving now, Miss. You can always call me if you need anything."

"Are you sure you don't want to stay for a while? I can make you a coffee or tea," Madeline offered.
