Chapter 22: 22. Murderer or Conqueror.

I knew I wasn't going to be able to sleep after such a disgusting, albeit intimate exchange with Leonis Rein. How could I sleep? After such a man had his hands—and lips—on me! I'd be too troubled to sleep, too disgusted to close my eyes, and too terrified of him returning again while I slept. So I couldn't sleep.

But I guess I did. 

And I only realized how well and hard I had slept when I felt a sharp piercing light penetrating my closed lashes, only to flip my eyes open and realize it was the sun staring at me. 

Can you imagine that, I did sleep. I was visited by the devil himself and I was stupid—bold enough to fall asleep.

Soon after my eyes opened, I discovered my imposed maids were already in my room, and just like that, another annoying day began. I was bathed, perfumed, oiled, and dressed. And when it was time for food, I was told the king would be joining me that morning.
