Chapter 17: Happy Birthday to Yue
"Fine I will attend your birthday party But on few conditions... 1! There better be some high class wine. 2! I better not catch you sipping a drop of alcohol!" said Master Kang as he clapped with his back hand indicating that he would spank Shen Yue if he didn't meet those conditions.
"Yes Master!" nodded Shen Yue as he ran back home, the sky was already orange, few hours remained until the sun would fall.
In the courtyard of the manor, a group kids were hanging around. There was: Shen Kai, Shen Kong, Niu Wang, Li Chum, Zan ( li chum's friend), Mi Lan (Li Chum's friend), Shen Xiu, Shen Fei, Ye Ziyun, Xiao Ning'er and... Ye Han?
There was a wooden desk and a whiteboard facing them as the desk was above the squashed grass beneath it.
"Alright everyone. I have gathered you all here to tell you a tiny bit about the world. You see - you guys are living in a tiny place in such a massive world, isolated so you do not know anything. Your horizons are shorter so let me broaden them." said Shen Yue as he sat on top of the desk next to the whiteboard that was pushed close to the edge by his back-side.
"What do you mean? Isn't Glory City the greatest city that ever existed?" some people questioned Shen Yue, they believed that Glory City was the last place for civilisation to thrive, that there are no other places with people left living outside Glory City was what they believed. They were ignorant and blind as frogs in a well.
"What is the peak of cultivation?" asked Shen Yue.
"Legend Rank!" shouted Zan, everyone else agreed with him, only few people have ever reached the legend rank, they had the power to crush black gold rank experts who are like nobles in the city with just a wave of their palm.
"Nope. There are levels beyond Legend Rank. We cultivate in the way of dao, the way of dao is limitless! There will always be someone above you, the way of dao is to constantly improve yourself. Do you really think Legend Rank is the peak when they can't even take on the pressure released by a expert in the divine realms above it. You have to have the mindset where you always strive to improve yourself otherwise you'll one day get crushed by someone stronger than you. Keep that in mind." said Shen Yue as he delivered a speech about dao and how there is no peak.
"How do you know that there are levels above Legend Rank?" asked Shen Kong
"I have my reliable sources, they travelled around the world and wish to remain anonymous." said Shen Yue as he started introducing all the realms." You all know the first 5 ranks, Bronze Silver Gold Black-Gold and Legend Rank also known as Earthen Fate Rank. After that there is Heavenly Fate Rank who are dozen or even hundred times stronger than Legend Rank. Then there is Heavenly Star who can easily dispose of Heavenly Fate Rank. Then there is Heavenly Axis, Dao of Dragon, then Martial Ancestor, then Deity and then Emperor; they all stomp the previous rank below them. And finally the Supreme Rank, they can easily dispose of Emperors who can live billions of years and have power to destroy the world with some effort. They can create and destroy world with ease because they are supreme."
As they heard all of that the group was surprised by the information, there are this many levels? There are gods? All this time they were thinking that Legend Rank was the peak but Legend Rank was just another ant to the gods. The start having fantasies of reaching those realms, reaching the Supreme Rank.
"I mentioned before that Glory City was tiny right? But should I tell you how tiny? There is this realm called The Tiny World, it has 6 continents and one of them is the Divine Continent. There are many civilisations living on the continent, in the swamps and deserts, in the icy plains and tropical jungles. There are many people living in the Tiny World including the other 5 continents but the name Tiny World as it suggest is called 'tiny world' as in the eyes of experts in upper world our world is truly truly tiny, there's this one realm called Draconic Ruins Realm, our world is a subsidiary domain for that realm which is thousands if not millions of times bigger than our world, it has 3000 subsidiary domains such as ours. You get the gist." Shen Yue was playing with the whiteboard, he grew two circles one small as a grain and the other big as a basketball to show the disparity.

Every kid there was amazed by this, they really felt little right now yet they were excited by the vastness of the world. If what Shen Yue said was true then there was so much of the world to explore for them, so much opportunities to be found and friends to be made. It was simply unbelievable.
"What you say sounds like stuff out of dreams. I find it really hard to believe it but it's simply amazing, exciting and if what you said true, having a growth mindset would truly be a good thing. I believe in you Shen Yue. Hope I didn't make the wrong choice" said Ye Han.
When Shen Yue was talking about the cultivation ranks and about the world he too was exxcited by this prospect, his blood was boiling. So much adventures to be made in such a large world.
"Before you go. What you heard from me can you keep it a secret please."
If this information got out into public then there chaos could probably occur and many riots and fights over resources as everyone (adults) would panic for their lives.The reason he told these kids was so that they become motivated and work harder as all these little kids are just lazy. He wasn't scared if one of them revealed this information as no one would believe them and instead think it was them just playing around.
The kids started clearing away from the manor courtyard as it was going to go dark, before Ye Ziyun could go home, Shen Yue walked up to her.
"Sister Ziyun, I have a present for you. I heard your mom is sick so I got her this medicine. Give it to her but don't say it was from me, say it was from 'strange doctor uncle' you met today." said Shen Yue as he passed her the grey antidote bottle he got from his father.
"Really!? Thank You!" said Ye Ziyun as she hugged Shen Yue who was caught of guard and had a slight blush that was barely visible though she didn't see. A year ago Ye Ziyun noticed her mother feeling unwell and as time progressed her mother's state got worse as she was vomiting blood at least twice in a day. Seeing the cure to her mother's problem truly makes her happy and grateful that she had a brother like Shen Yue, now her mother will be saved before she dies.
"I'll walk you home." said Shen Yue
Xiao Ning'er who was just at the entrance of the Shen Manor and saw Ye Ziyun hugging Shen Yue. She waited for Ye Ziyun so that they could walk home together and have more time to talk before they go to sleep. Shen Yue and Ye Ziyun neared to the entrance and then Shen Yue said to her.
"Sister Ning'er, come with us. I'll walk you home."
"Sure!" smiled Xiao Ning'er as she could walk with her friends.
The trio walked together and Shen Yue told them a bit more about the world like the nether realm and certain powerful figures like the demon lord. He also talked about anime and about the strongest character, Shen Yue was getting closer to the girls and was less wary of them, he started thinking of them as his friends.
During the year he spent with them, he tried to somehow get rid of these girls spoilt attitude which he didn't like. he had to do it without using force and not being mean as he would lose their trust and friendship, as anime shows the more friends you have the more powerful you are. He managed to get rid of most of their attitudes though some still remained.
"See ya Ye Ziyun. you'll be at my birthday party, right?" asked Shen Yue.
"Definitely." Ye Ziyun gave a thumbs up as she walked through the entrance of the city lord's manor.
Shen Yue was walking alone with Xiao Ning'er. Her house was a few houses away from Ye Ziyun's.
"Thanks...for dealing with Shen Fei, I really didn't want to be married to that guy. Whenever I declined and confronted him, he would never give up but you managed to change him. He said that he's sorry and that he was 'kinda stubborn', he was too stubborn if you ask me. But I accepted his apology and we became friends after your family tournament. So Thanks." Smiled a beautiful younger Xiao Ning'er (who was 8, she's older than Yue by few months).
"No problem. Can I sak you something?"
"Sure."
"You haven't started cultivating yet have you? If so then can you pass your family cultivation techniques to me, I need them for something." asked Shen Yue.
"I didn't start cultivating yet as for the family cultivation technique scrolls..." Xiao Ning'er hesitated before she said,"Fine, I'll bring you them tomorrow but can you make sure you don't destroy them? My ancestors were the ones that made most of these."
Shen Yue wanted to get his master to fix these for him, her family techniques are trash, they managed to cripple Xiao Ning'er a girl with amazing talent. He wanted to prevent her from getting the arctic disease by improving the technique but he wasn't like Nie Li who specialises in everything.
Shen Yue dropped off Xiao Ning'er at the Winged Dragon Family Manor entrance where she was greeted by an elder.
"See you tomorrow Brother Yue. I'll come to your birthday party." Xiao Ning'er waved at Shen Yue's leaving back, as he was now heading home.
Shen Yue went home and greeted his father Shen Hong who was still excited after yesterday's talk. He then went to sleep and this time there was no nightmares, Shen Yue was definitely going to have a good night's sleep today.
Early in the morning...
Shen Yue started doing his daily exercises but this time he increased the difficulty by ten times. He then proceeded to train his smithing art Infernal Tempest Hammer. This time he left earlier so that he could get ready and for Master Kang to get ready for his birthday.
Shen Yue dressed himself in red robes that went all the way to the ground, the sleeves were very big and the entire robe had golden patterns of flowers and on his back was a chinese character saying luck.
Shen Yue went to the courtyard where the party will be held. The chefs prepared massive tables filled with hard-boiled eggs that were dyed red, dumplings, long noodles, spring rolls, fish, rice cakes. There was even some of the things he created like pizza and desserts like ice cream and chocolate pudding.
There were 7 tables, one bigger table at the centre and all the 6 tables around the centre table. On that centre table was a massive cake that had layers of ice cream and pudding, the base was a chocolate sponge that Shen Yue really liked.
It was already afternoon and now guests started arriving, first to come was Niu Wang, then there was the trio of Li Chum, Zan and Mi Lan. Few minutes later Shen Kai and Shen Kong arrived at the same time. Shen Fei came as well looking like a prince. Shen Xiu came too, she dressed nicely with a cute red attire. Some of them had their parents come with them, they were a nice addition to this little party. Shen Hong arrived from the manor dressed in golden robes, he still had a smile plastered on his face. Xiao Ning'er arrived with her father, she was holding a scroll in her hand. Then finally came the Snow Wind Family, Ye Ziyun, Ye Zong, Ye Han and an unknown purpled hair beauty arrived even Ye Mo came, they sat on their own table which was quiet close to the table at centre where his family sat. Finally the man himself...Master Kang he entered the manor courtyard dressed like a king, his robe was mixture of red and gold, he had plenty of jewellery, a massive golden chain lots of golden rings. Master Kang sat next to Shen Yue at the centre table.
"Thank you very much to everyone that attended this party and to people that helped prepare it. I would like you all to sing with me on this special occasion."

"Now sing along with me" said Shen Yue as everyone started singing along with Shen Yue, this made him slightly happy whilst he was lighting up the candles.
"Thank you. Now I will make a wish!" as Shen Yue blew away the candles with a powerful mighty breeze of air from his mouth. "Now who wants some cake!" yelled a hyped up Shen Yue as he looked at the cake, the cake was giant as big as a human and fat as a couch, that is one big cake.
Shen Yue suddenly saw four figures surround the cake and his view darkening as four figures with bloody eyes were nearing him, one was a boy, one girl, a lady and the other a man. They started circling him as they talked about him 'betraying' them; he wanted to scream but before he could everything disappeared and returned to normal, the guests saw him slightly twitch uncontrollably for few seconds before he returned to normal which was weird.
The chefs start cutting up the giant cake and hand out everyone a massive slice on some pearl white plates.
"Delicious!" Someone yelled as everyone was amazed by the cake, it was first time in their lives they have tasted something as sweet and beautiful as this.
Dozens of minutes later and a massive banquet occurred, everyone was joyfully stuffing their mouths and giddily talking to each other. Most as Shen Hong sat there quietly eating whilst Master Kang chilled with some booze and cake.
Shen Yue started checking the presents that everyone gave him as they entered the courtyard. Most presents just gave him some pills weapons or armour, money even jewellery; he was happy but not that interested in these average presents though he truly was grateful that he at least had somebody caring for him.
"Brother Yue!" two girls called his name, it was Ye Ziyun and Xiao Ning'er these two girls were dressed nicely, Ning'er had an orange dress, Ziyun had a purple dress.
"What is it sweetheart." asked Shen Yue.
"Close your eyes."said Xiao Ning'er as excitment was written on her face.
"Yeah. close your eyes. We have a present for you!" said Ye Ziyun happily.
"Sure -" said a hesitant Shen Yue as he closed his eyes, something happened. Shen Yue felt something touching each side of his lips. The two girls each kissed a corner of Shen Yue's lips

Shen Yue opened his eyes and saw what they did, he stumbled back and nearly fell on his ass; Shen Yue was caught off guard, he had just been kissed by these two and he didn't expect it, Shen Yue felt slightly strange inside.
"Brother Yue, we gave you our first kisses as present, each of us wanted to give you our first kiss but decided to make it special by sharing your lips. How was it?" asked Ye Ziyun who slightly blushed from the attention she's getting right now.
"It felt nice." smiled Shen Yue
