Chapter 5: Chapter 5: Uchiha bloodline? I don't want it.
After visiting his mother's grave, his father went to the grocery store and Kent returned to the bookshop alone.
In his room, Kent sat on the chair and took a deep breath.
The surprise came too sudden. The system reward even included 'bloodlines'.
It also opened up many possibilities to grow stronger with less work.
But the question was, which bloodline was the best... no, most suitable for him.
The three most powerful bloodline that he was most familiar with were the Uchiha bloodline, Hyuga bloodline and Uzumaki bloodline.
He crossed out Uchiha bloodline without any hesitation.
Uchiha bloodline was synonymous to tragedy. A ninja from Uchiha clan would become powerful only after the person experienced despair, pain, grief, etc.
From Madara to Itachi, every Uchiha had gone through too much to gain such power.
He didn't want to be like them. If situation allowed him, he would be happy to live a normal life.
'Hyuga bloodline is also powerful but the physical change that it will bring is too eye catching.' Suddenly he chuckled in a self deprived manner. 'Who am I kidding? Is it so easy for a civilian like me to visit a noble clan like hyuga without a valid reason?'
'So that leaves only Uzumaki bloodline. Well, it can also solve my most important weakness, my puny chakra reserve,' he decided. 'But what should I do with the Yamanaka bloodline? Can I have two bloodlines at the same time?'
'Well, as far as I know Yamanaka bloodline is not too much different from normal ninja except for their deep affinity with mind related jutsu,' he speculated. 'But the problem is, I only have the Yamanaka bloodline as a choice. And where do I even get the Uzumaki bloodline? First hokage's house? I will be caught before I even step through the entrance and also the system rewards are random.'
It was not the first time, he visited and signed in to Yamanaka flower shop. He got many mind related techniques exclusive to Yamanaka clan but not bloodline, untill today that is.
'Beggars can't be chossers!' Kent finally decided.
Closing the curtains of the window, Kent opened system interface.
[Would the host like to retrieve the Yamanaka bloodline?]
'Retrieve,' The moment his thoughts moved, a cool sensation passed through his whole body as it gradually became numb all over.
The room appeared to be spinning. It was becoming more and more difficult to remain sitting on the chair.
It was like he was given a lot of anesthesia.
With much difficulty, Kent stood from his seat and clumsily reached the bed when his vision went dark.
When he woke up, he cursed loudly, "F*ck!"
After calming down, he looked at the wall clock. It had only been fifteen minutes since he lost consciousness.
'It was too scary!' He shuddered thinking about what he just experienced.
The feeling of loosing control over your body as it gradually grows numb is a very scary thing to experience. It was like dying of suffocation under water.
After few long breaths, he concentrated on his body. The first thing he noticed was his chakra reserves seemed to have increased. There wasn't any other particular feeling.
"Oh sh*t!" Kent cursed as he remembered a very important fact about Yamanaka bloodline, their blonde hair.
He quickly went to the desk and looked at himself in the small mirror placed on the desk.
"Phew!" He sighed with relief. "Fortunately my hair colour remained the same."
"But the new hair that grows, will they become yellow?" He couldn't help but ponder on the question. "Well, I will just have to wait and see."
