Chapter 2: Nothing Is As It Seems (Part II)
Judgement? What does she mean by that? What is going on?
All these questions ran through her head, as Rose looked back at the students. One of the girls ranted to fight back, while the others felt ashamed of their actions as the guilt and worry risen up. The girl still denying that her actions, caught Rose's attention as she walked towards the student.
She glared at the stubborn girl, "Then tell me how your actions against Azura was even remotely acceptable?"
The girl chuckled as she looks at Azura with amusement, "Isn't it obvious, she's a pathetic commoner who blackmailed her way into this school. There is no way a girl like her could ever transfer here and have grades such as those. So we were just putting this liar in her place."
Rose's glare was more intense than before as she started to put out another devious grin, "Would you like to gamble that, Alice Teri?"
The moment Rose said the girl's name had her trembling, "H-How do you know my name?!"
"I've been around, also being a part of the student council as their Treasurer has it's advantages, " she said as she's still grinning deviously, "The position isn't totally recognized, compared to the President's or Vice President's but it's just as important enough to know the attendance and profiles of every student in this school."
The girls including Azura were shocked, she was the Treasurer of the Student Council?! Her face was never shown in assemblies much less spoken about, so it was usually forgotten about.
"Or you know, I can report an expulsion for you girls right now, " Rose said as she turned around, "It won't be difficult to prove your guilt to the principal let alone the rest of the student council with the faces your showing me now. Let's go Azura."
Alice panics and screams out of desperation, "W-Wait! It's... It's a deal! I'll gamble it! Just don't expel us!"
"Okay then, "she smiles as she puts Azura in a desk with a chair, "You two can come out now!"
Two people appeared at the back door that was locked. One was a girl who looked similar to Rose but was taller, had blonde hair, blue eyes and wore the the third year Ruby Private School uniform. The other was a male who looked like a young adult, had black hair and eyes while wearing the Ruby Private School teacher uniform for the elementary division.
"It's been so long since you gambled yourself to put in the hands of a total stranger, Rosie, " the blonde girl said teasingly.
"Yes, but are you sure you want to do this, " the male teacher said as he handed the papers to Azura, "The girl isn't exactly... prepared."
Rose nodded as the teacher sighed, Azura looks at the title of the page, and was shocked. This was the written entrance exam for Silent Rose. Why does this elementary teacher have it? Why give it to her? Who are these guys really? Before she could say anything, the blonde girl approached her.
"The gamble is you must finish the questions in this pile of paper. Mr Alexander will grade those very papers and if you go below average of your original marks from the entrance exam of your transfer, which last I checked all your original marks were around 90% average, you will be suspected of cheating and fraud with the possible charge of expulsion, " she said with enthusiasm, "Win and well... we'll get to that when it happens."
Azura was now extremely nervous, this was the Silent Rose Entrance Exam, not a normal exam for regular students. She knows that the Silent Rose entry is serious business and requires a lot of intelligence, connections and full commitments, so she'd expects half of these questions will be very difficult. But on the back of her mind, even though she's gonna be risking expulsion upon herself, it was an opportunity to see if she has what it takes to be a part of Silent Rose. She took a deep breath, and nodded in agreement.
"Good, " the blonde girl happy with Azura's response, "You have 3 hours to complete it. Begin!"
Azura opened the papers and began writing the answers at full speed. Although she grew up as a commoner in a poor area, she was pretty intelligent for her age. She would read whatever she could find. Whether it be in the library, the school main office when she volunteers to help out the teachers, the computers or even her local book bank, she never stopped discovering new information. The only thing that bothered her is that she would slip up and make a mistake due to stress, which happened to her on a few occasions in the past, but she had to stay focus and forget the stress.
She finishes the papers in 1 hour and passes it to the teacher, barely needing the extra 2 hours. Surprised he looked at the papers and began to grade it on the spot. Alice was obviously was scared half out of her mind, knowing that this commoner trash finished an exam in 1 hour.
"T-There's no way... no way you answered all of that in 1 hour, " Alice said in disbelief, "You must have cheated, you and the Treasurer! You must have told her the answers ahead of time with that blonde girl and bribed the teacher!"
"Nope, we just met today, " Rose said admittedly, "Oh and me and my sister, Lily always play by the rules, no one cheats in our watch, nor do we allow accusers in this playground. So. Shut. Up."
Mr Alexander finally finished the grading and is completely amazed. He looks at Azura and at the papers back and forth, and gave a look to Rose and Lily to have them see the papers for themselves. They both smiled and showed the other students the papers.
"W-Wait, what mark did I get, " Azura asked with such nervousness in her voice, "D-Did I pass?"
"You did more than just passed, " Mr. Mr Alexander explained.
"She straight up perfect scored the entire exam, " Alice said dumbfounded.
Azura couldn't believe what she was hearing. She passed the Silent Rose Exam? Her? Not only that but she perfect scored it?! She was overjoyed that she started to cry tears of joy, unaware of the change of atmosphere with Rose, Lily and Mr. Alexander.
"Now. I'm pretty sure that also means you lost the bet, " Rose tells Alice, "You shall face punishment."
"But how shall give the punishment, " Lily asked, "These girls souls aren't darkened, just stained."
"I'll do it, I'll try not to hurt them, " Mr Alexander said as he raises his hand, "Besides, this is my department. Oh, and don't worry, I'll be gentle this time."
Azura then started to feel a dark presence from behind her as she turned her back to see a transparent black beast monster in-front of Mr Alexander as it tries to attack the girls. Her moral instincts take over as she rushes in to protect the students.
"No stop! What are you guys doing, " Azura said in a panic.
Rose shocked by Azura's actions, screamed at Mr Alexander, "Lee, call him back."
"I-I can't, " Lee said trying to call off the monster.
"AZURA, GET OUT OF THE WAY, " Rose yelled at Azura.
Azura didn't move an inch, instead just stood her ground as the monster tried to attack her. Everyone closed their eyes in a panic, but felt a gentle light pushing the monster back from attack, which also resulted in the stained souls to purify.
Everyone then opened their eyes to see the monster gone, the souls pure white again and Azura laying on the floor unconscious.
