Chapter 3: System Reboot

Liang JianAmal stood there, bemused as the myriad of emotions went across her face.

Staring he drank in the details he had missed so much, her twinkling dark blue eyes, as deep as the ocean. Her thick dark brown hair, that he yearned to have his hands tangled in again, which perfectly framed her small white face. Her small but full and shapely lips that were painted red and hung open, inviting.

With her flushed cheeks, open mouth, and startled beautiful eyes, the man felt the combination just about shred the last of his restraint.

'My love, I have been waiting and looking for so long, at last we meet again.'

Resolutely closing the door on his rental Benz, Liang JianAmal started stalking predatorily towards the frozen woman.

He had been prepared to stay in this location for quite some time until he found her, now that he had received a clue as to her general location Jian Amal never even thought in his wildest dreams that on the first day in town, he would see her. It had been a year...a long year.

As he strode confidently around the car, he never took his gaze off of her. Liang Jian Amal fished out a cigarette from his breast pocket and lit it in one fluid motion.

"My dear this must be fate.." he began.

However, before he could even complete his sentence the woman screamed out in a horrified voice.

"Nnnnnooooo!" She then turned on her heel and sprinted back the way she came, running into the nearest alley and disappearing down it.

Quick as a flash she was gone leaving him standing there with his words.

Liang Jian Amal stood there absolutely shocked for half a second, the vehemence in her voice, and the speed with which she had disappeared rocked him.

'Why would she react this way..?' The next second he gritted his teeth and threw himself in his car.

Thankfully there were not many people at the moment as he whipped the car around, tires squealing in protest, as he swooped to cut her off at the other end of the alley.

'I won't let you go so easily after just finding you. I need to know why? Why did you run? Why are you still running? Just why woman?'

Grinding his teeth and gripping the steering wheel with white knuckles, he swore to himself that when he found her, he would lock her in the bedroom and make her answer him. He had ways to extract the truth out of her body. At the thought, Liang JianAmal could not help but to grin wickedly.

Chang felt a shiver run up her spine as she ran up the alleyway, her whole being focused on escape. She had almost been caught out of shock, just by seeing his striking figure after so long.

Like a lamb staring at the most magnificent lion coming to eat her she had been struck dumb at the sight.

Everything about him still called to her in a seductive way. Memories threatened to creep forth but she shoved them to the back of her mind, as she skittered like a deer.

'For what reason could he be in such a place as L.A. Shouldn't he still be in China, in Shanghai?!?'

Thankfully when he started to move and speak the spell he had cast over her had been broken.

At the thought of all her efforts and sacrifices being undone like that, she screamed no, and her brain rebooted its system. As it powered up, thankfully, it had pushed her feet into action immediately.

Halfway through the alleyway, Chang ran past a dumpster. Skidding to a stop she turned and looked at it twice. After debating with herself for a moment, Chang lifted the lid and threw herself in.
