Chapter 1: The Sleeping Travelor 1
Her eyes flutter open as she stretches out her arms. The sleep filled haze that clouded her eyes clears.
The thought: Where am I this time?
For a normal person awaking up in a strangers house would be a huge problem. She wasn't just in a strangers house, she was in a different realm.
The grass outside the window was as tall as the trees in her own realm. But that wasn't the only problem.
She was in someone else's house. Trespassing was a problem in every realm she went to.
In addition to that, because sleep walking wasn't normal, she wasn't sure how these people would view her.
The final problem was that she wasn't dressed in the clothes she went to sleep in.
Her heart patterned pajamas were replaced with an almost translucent gauze dress with butterfly wings attached to the back.
Someone changed her clothing which means someone brought her into the house.
A 'woman' with butterfly wings entered the room. She clasped her hand and she explained what why she was in the home.
Her mother had never seen someone without butterfly wings and made this costume for her so she could blend in while she was in this world.
As the 'woman' was speaking a 'man' with wings entered. He asked why his betrothed was still in bed.
The 'woman' explained that there wasn't many females in their land so in exchange for their hospitality they wanted her to wed this 'man'.
She had to find a way to fall asleep to avoid this marriage. Unfortunately they dragged her out of the bed and immediately to a banquet hall.
She knew if she couldn't get out of this mess now she would have to escape after being hitched.
The 'man' wrapped his arms around her waist and flew her up to the top floor of the banquet room.
She quickly realized that there were no elevators or stairs so she would not survive the fall if she tried to escape.
Knowing that if she let go of this 'man' she would fall to her death she clung to him so tightly.
I response the 'man' held on to her tighter as well. The difference between them was that his wings changed to a reddish color.
The ceremony progressed and the couple never let go of each other.
When they kissed to complete the ceremony the kiss only heightened the closeness of the couple.
As long as they were on the top floor they were glued together.
Even though the crowd had never seen the bride before they were jealous of the groom. The weddings were never like this one in that respect.
The groom did all of the flying during the evening and lead in dancing as well.
She clung even tighter to him when they were dancing that his wings changed to and even deeper red.
Finally he was getting overwhelmed if they didn't return to their home he was going to have to go to the restroom to cool off.
She wouldn't let go of him. The thought of him letting go of her made her cling to him tighter. There was not a literal floor for her to walk on.
He was reaching a dangerous point.
In front of everyone he carried her to the bathroom.
He placed her on the sink and went into one off the stalls. Her face turned red and she felt embarrassed.
Nothing was worse than having to use the bathroom and being forced to hold it in.
She turned even redder the longer the waterfall continued.
Why didn't he tell her he had to go? She would have let go of him in an instant even if that meant falling to her death.
When he exited the stall he went to the other sink and avoided her gaze.
After he washed and dried his hands she reached for him again and he flew her back to the banquet area.
She felt guilty. Once she went to sleep she would be gone again. It was always a problem but now... now she was married!
She thought of breaking the news to him gently but she was also unhappy.
She never asked to be married but she still consented because she values her life even over singleness.
The 'man' finally sensed her discomfort and decided to take her home.
The crowd felt that this was the most interesting wedding in a long time.
After arriving at home safely she let go and created a distance between them.
The 'man' was confused he thought that she would relax after leaving the party but she was even more irritated and uncomfortable.
She walked back into the room she had woke up in. She tried to explain to him that she was a sleep walker.
He tried to bring her closer trying to assure her that he knew. But the problem was she was only able to communicate properly with people of other realms if their was physical contact like holding hands.
People could explain even the most complicated information without words as long as she maintained contact.
After he took her home she was afraid contact would cause him to pursue her.
