Chapter 8: Unnamed
The next day, Samantha introduced Charles to Tom and the other orphans. They were ecstatic and sad at the same time. They were happy to have a new member, but every one of them knew the sad reality of an orphan. There was little food and no way that they could make it big.
"Sam, do you know his Occupation?" Said Tom.
"Yeah, we were lucky enough to get the stone. He is just another plain Civilian. No big news there." "Now he is just a child, so most of his time should be with me. However, I don't know how to raise you and him at the same time, so Tom will look after him..."
"WAIT! Why me?" Samantha stared at him for a second, giving him those puppy-dog-eyes. "It won't be for long, just a few years. Also, GROW UP KID." Being called a kid was Tom's weakness. If anyone ever wanted anything, they would just call Tom a "kid" while mentioning the thing to get to be proven as a "adult," and he would do it. From that day onwards, Tom raised Charles (albeit working out what to do as things went on.)
