The Wyrm came face to face with his digital replica once more. This time, he could see that his scales had experienced a significant glow-up.
Not only did they look more rigid and refined, but they also had a darker tone and a significantly more menacing appearance. Such were the aesthetical benefits of Dragon Scales.
After reaching level 6, he acquired a sum total of 12 Pure Essence since the last Chrysalis. 3 from level 4, 4 from level 5, and 5 from level 6, respectively.
With the newly acquired Essence, he began thinking about what he should Evolve next.

With the current crisis of a persistent Sea Horse up his ass, the Wyrm analyzed each of the choices with care.
Since the Gunerush was quite slow on land, he could use this to his advantage by getting even faster. With this, he invested 3 Units into his limbs.
With just one Unit, he had managed to gain a pretty useful Skill; that being Concentration. So he opted to invest 3 more Units into his brain.
Seeing the number beside his brain icon reach a 4, he couldn't help but invest just a single more Unit. 5 was a good number, it gave him a sense of security.
『The Organ ~Brain~ has reached a Milestone! Specialization Divergence available.』
'Oh...? What's this?' he mused as another screen flickered before him.

'0_0' It seems that he was right, 5 truly was a lucky number.
Some of these choices were rather strange. Independent Brain was accurate to its name, his Brain would become an entirely separate entity if he chose this...
That was... A rather strange concept, one that he wouldn't choose for obvious reasons.
Magic Infused Brain was rather obvious, while Reinforced Brain made his Brain tougher to damage.
Psychic Brain gave him Physic abilities... Such abilities ought to include Telekinesis, Telepathy, and the other members of the Tele-family.
Multi-Brain would literally split his Brain into multiple parts, allowing him to think multiple things at once and stopping him from instantly dying if one of his Brains got destroyed.
Compressed Brain would shrink and compress his Brain, reducing his energy per thought and allowing information to be transported at a much faster rate.
In the end, he narrowed it down to Compressed, Psychic, and Multi-Brain. Psychic was eliminated first as even if the description was cool, it was still kind of vague.
What if he just gained some minor ability? It would probably still be quite useful, but there was nothing stopping him from simply getting this upgrade later.
Compressed and Multi-Brain were equally useful in his opinion, so he simply played a numbers game and racked his first life for a relevant number.
He died whilst being in the second semester, so Multi-Brain won. Hooray!!!
With Multi-Brain selected, he had 5 Units remaining. Since 5 had been proven to be a good number, he decided to keep those Units for emergencies.
The void once again cracked as the surroundings were bleached in the color white.

—CRACK...CRACK~!*
The Wyrm's dull-colored outer shell shattered as he regained his precious consciousness.
『The Skills ~Instantaneous LV 1~, ~Memory LV 1~ and ~Parallel Thinking LV 1~ has been acquired.』

『Less than a week has passed in your life... That Title truly suits you.』
'Thank you, Voice-chan. I really needed that... Now, what happened to Mr. Sea Horse...?' The Wyrm asked as he looked down below at the corpse.
A small cookie-cutter-sized chunk had been torn off, clearly eaten by something... But that something must have disliked the taste since that was the only part eaten.
'My Dragon God... Such plot convenience, I could have died if I hadn't been the protagonist...' He mused as his form descended the Stalagmite, dropping on top of Mr. Sea Horse's corpse.
Besides them, there was also the corpse of what seemed to be a Giant Catfish... Though as opposed to the Sea Horse, this one had been eaten clean with only the skeleton remaining.
Chills crept up his spine as he imagined what horrible beast could have defeated and consumed such a large creature in one sitting...
It must have been a one-of-a-kind Behemoth! Perhaps even a Dragon...
Not a good sign.
'Larry, where are ya?' He asked through their mental connection. The guy was his Minion till death, he couldn't just outright leave the job. Such were the benefits of Creature Taming.
Not so much of a benefit for Larry.
Creature Taming didn't exactly give one Telepathy, but the Master could send short messages to his Servant, though it is one way.
Both parties could understand one another even through a language barrier, which was how he had been talking with Larry before.
When they got far away, they could also sense the other party's general location, so the Wyrm racked his newly upgraded brain to start sensing.
'Right then... Stay there, Larry. I'll go to your place.' He said as tore a meat chunk from the Sea Horse.
'Portable lunch, let's go...' He mused before attaching the chunk to his back.
As the Wyrm made his way to Larry, he Appraised himself since it had been a rather hot minute since he did so...
