Chapter 212: A bloody struggle

"Samurott use protect!" Blossom commanded, causing a translucent shield to instantly coalesce around him just as the beam carrying a terrifying amount of might landed on him.
"Feraligatr, use six-point crunch!" Alex said, clenching his teeth as a thrilling current of electricity coursed through his body ceaselessly. The Croc's eyes flashed a deadly murderous glint before leaping into a four-legged stampede towards Samurott across the shattered battlefield. Only the occasionally puddle was all that remained of the once beautiful pool.
Feraligatr's mad rush cracked the tiles as he opened his mouth hungrily.
"No you don't. Samurott use surf!"
A low rumble was heard before the small puddles began to bubble violently, simmering like water in a pot before erupting into scalding geysers as jets of water gushed out. The crater the two pokemon found themselves in quickly filled up with water again.
"now use thunder punch!" Blossom said, her words shocking the audience.
Like a thousand chirping birds, blue lighting sparked to life along Samurott's arm. He turned his head towards the incoming Feraligatr. He grinned before plunging his hand straight into the water and through half a meter of concrete floor.
BOOMZZZZ!
A massive bubble of electricity surged out in every direction, like a mushroom cloud. It stretched upwards, ripping at the barrier. The water sizzled as everything within was instantly smashed by millions of jolts of electricity.
Feraligatr seemed to halt his actions, only continuing to move forward due to the momentum he had built up. Finally, unable to move, he simply convulsed under the constant zapping of the snake-like electricity bolts.
"Use endure!" Alex yelled aggressively.
Feraligatr's mind was instantly sent back to when he had first met Alex. His fights, struggles, and brother, who was probably watching him right now. He had fought too hard to stop here.
Instantly overcome with unwillingness and anger, he began to smash the ground with his fists, violently writhing in agony as the electricity continued to sear his skin. Patches of black began to appear frequently along the entirety of his body. The anguish-filled roars echoed through the stadium, yet the fury emerging with it stopped the audience from mourning his aperant loss.
"Now, Feraligatr!" Alex suddenly commanded. Blossom squinted her eyes as she focused on what Feraligatr was up to. Yet a pillar of water quickly blocked her view of him, for it spun like a tornado, growing faster and stronger, only his rough appearance could be seen within.
"Torrent…" she mumbled before scoffing, "If that's how you want to play, you too, Samurott!"
BOOM!
A similar water tornado appeared around Samurott, "use thunder punch on it," she followed up with no hesitation.
Samurott slowly raised his hand, which exploded with the cries of hundreds of birds again before extending it into the tornado spinning around him, infusing electricity into it.
"Come, Alex, let's end this," Blossom said provokingly.
"Yes, let's," Alex agreed, "Feraligatr use superpower!"
"Samurott, use wild charge!" Blossom countered.
ROAAAAAAAAR! Feraligatr exploded with energy, its red colour gripping his body like armour. His body grew bigger and stronger, his breathing became rough and violent, and as he dropped to all fours, his feet shattered the ground.
BOOOMZZZZZ!
Samurott roared as lighting coated his body, the sound it produced deafened the audience, who watched from the edges of their seats. Some had even stood up from sheer excitement. James was one of them, clutching at the table tightly.
[Water type against water type, beast against beast, only one will make it out standing, only one will proceed, and one will fall.] James commentated fervently.
"GO!"
"GO!"
They both shouted at the same time.
BOOM
BOOM
Both pokemon exploded with murderous momentum, rocketing forward with such speed that the air crackled with sonic booms.
KABOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!
A collision with such force that the shockwave alone sent the barrier into the red.
The result? Both pokemon were now interlocking hands, pushing against each other with every ounce of strength in their beings.
GRRRRRR! Feraligatr Growled deeply, his teeth clenched so tightly that blood seeped out.
ROOOOAR! Samurott resisted, again and again, roaring as more and more lighting flooded out of his body travelling towards Feraligatr. Yet the pain only served to infuriate the beast further.
"Push! PUSH!" Blossom Yelled, her calm demeanour nowhere to be seen.
"This is where we make our stand Feraligatr, FIGHT! FIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGHT!"
ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAR!!!! Feraligatr's eyes turned blood red as his nails dug into Samurott, his bloody mouth slowly parting before snapping shut around Samurott's neck like lightning. His long teeth sinking through the fur and piercing through hte steel like muscle beneath.
Samurott did not seem to care, however. Instead, he looked straight into Feraligatr's eyes and pushed forward, step by step. Blood dripped from the edges of Feraligatr's mouth, blood that wasn't his own. Yet, its owner continued to drive his opponent backwards, not batting an eye at the injuries.
'A bit more... a bit more, closer, closer...' she repeated as she looked at the battle before stealing a quick glance at the sky.
'There!'
"USE THUNDER!" Blossom cried out at the top of her lungs.
Samurott began to grin again as it stared into Feraligatr's fierce eyes before closing his own. His body stopped moving as if giving up. Yet above, clouds began to churn, inky black in appearance. They hid snakes of blue lighting, thick as a tree.
Alex's eyes widened as his mouth parted to speak, yet his words could not out pace lighting. For it had already fallen.
"Feraligatr…" Alex reached his hand out, a look of disbelief flickering in his eyes.
