Chapter 1: Chapter 1|A Complete Lie

Percy Jackson would never admit it to his team, but he was worried.

The first game of the Quidditch season and it was against the Slytherins, and they weren't known for playing nicely.

It was also his very first game as captain and the pressure was sinking in.

Percy had no doubt in the talent of his teammates but he also knew who they were up against.

"Good luck, man. You got this," Grover wished him luck one last time, before going off to the other Huffelpuffs at their table.

Percy smiled at him, "Thanks, man."

He then turned to his team. The Stolls were still stuffing their faces with french toast as Percy stood up and gestured for his team to follow.

They went and made ready, each pulling on their scarlet robes and gripping their brooms.

They were all a little nervous, but even Percy was starting to feel excited.

He then went and stood in front of them for one final talk before the big moment.

"Okay, guys, you know the tactics. We have practiced hard and now we are going to show those snakes what Gryffindor is really made of!" he said and the team cheered.

"French toast!" Connor Stoll exclaimed that made the whole team chuckel as he took one last bite of his toast.

Most people would hurl if they got on the broom after that much food, but the Stolls always joke that bludgers aren't the only thing they will be hitting people with.

"You hear that?" he said and put his hands to his ear as if listening and sure enough the loud cheers of their fellow Gryffindors could be heard.

"Show time, Ladies," Piper McLean, a fellow fifth year, said, and stood up.

They all stood up, ready to go, but Percy noticed how one girl looked rather nervous.

"Hey, you ready?" he asked the girl and went to put his hand her shoulder.

"O-of course," she stammered, she was nearly shaking of the nerves.

"You're going to be great, Hazel. Everyone's a bit nervous on their first match," Percy assured, the young girl only gave a small smile.

Hazel was really good, Percy had picked her specially because of how she could spot the golden snitch out of nowhere.

"I chose you for a reason, don't prove me wrong now," Percy added with a wink. Hazel smiled again, but this time it was a determined one.

They went out. The sky was a brilliant blue and it looked like the whole school came out for the show today.

Percy made his way to the middle of the pitch to Madam Hooch.

"I want a clean match," she said as Percy shook hands with the Slytherin captain, Luke Castellan.

To say he liked Luke was like saying that Percy never got into any type of trouble.

It was a complete lie.
