Chapter 102: A Brute And Night

"What's going on, Tharnomath? You're not the type to simply get your ass handed to you." Seccessus says in a tone that mixes concern and genuine curiosity.

"Sigh, unfortunately, it seems that Ulthris was more tenacious than expected. I am now paying the price for my miscalculation." Tharnomath replies, clenching his hands firmly. The proud devil is disappointed in himself.

"Don't dwell on it. However, there is something I must confirm. Is Eli safe, Tharnomath?" Seccessus looks intently at the wounded devil, hoping to hear a favorable reply.

It is after all the main condition for this deal. Seccessus will try to kill Ulthris and in return Eli's safety is guaranteed.

Tharnomath was also aware of this. A negative response will most likely result in him searching for the devil girl. But the six golden-eyed devil was not willing to simply lie to Seccessus. He deserved an honest answer, besides, a Talvit does not break a deal.

Tharnomath was just about to reply until a large wall gets thrown towards them. Seccessus simply lets his dark magic devour it. His attention is now focused on Ulthris.

"If you don't mind, I am in the middle of a conversation." Seccessus calls out slightly annoyed.

"So what?" Ulthris Kaahen, the large orc, replies. Clearly not impressed by the fact that he suddenly got ignored.

"This conversation is quite important, you see. It will decide if I'm going to kill you right now or later." Seccessus replies dryly, an evil smirk beginning to appear on his face before he continues speaking.

"Is that why you interrupted? Did you get scared? It only makes sense since you're so actively trying to interfere with this conversation."

"Scared? You think I'm scared." Ulthris replies whilst grinding his teeth together, some thick veins appear on his forehead. Showing his extreme annoyance and rage.

"LET'S FIGHT THEN! I'LL SHOW YOU WHAT FEAR IS, IGNORANT BRAT!" Ulthris Kaahen yells in an extremely loud voice. The angry response is, even so, loud that Seccessus started to wonder if this was an attack against his eardrums.

"I would love to fight you. SO SHUT UP AND LET ME FINISH MY CONVERSATION!" Seccessus replies, his black mix with red aura seeping out as he shows clear killing intent.

"Anyways, where were we? Ah yes, Tharnomath, I'm waiting." He says impatiently.

"I don't know where Eli is and her current status. However, Idrilth is with her, so she should be safe. Besides, Eli herself might even be capable of taking care of the lower foot soldiers." Tharnomath replies honestly. Not sure how Seccessus might respond.

"You're probably right, still I would like it if you went to search for her. I don't want to insult you, but you're going to be a liability with your injured leg. I would also appreciate it if you can guarantee her safety personally." Seccessus replies, deep in thought and considering the situation.

Tharnomath doesn't reply, which in this case meant affirmation. His leg was still terribly injured, and he had wasted a lot of mana whilst defending. For a foe as strong as Ulthris Kaahen, he was a hindrance. It hurt his pride and made him feel ashamed.

"He's not an opponent to be taken lightly." These were the last words Tharnomath decided to utter.

Seccessus at the moment had 2 issues to deal with. The first was to get Tharnomath to safety and the second was a large brute that has been pissing him off.

The brute called Ulthris has been surprisingly patient since his outburst. He was clearly still enraged but attacking Seccessus who was conversing, would be the same as admitting that he feared to battle him.

'I can't believe that actually worked. God, he's simple.' Seccessus thinks, looking at his soon-to-be opponent.

For the first issue, Seccessus decided to look around. Tharnomath had to be transported, but if he did it himself the lava stone orc would probably charge him and make it quite the hassle.

However, Seccessus quickly found something that attracted his interest. In the corner of his eyes was a familiar bull chimera. It was the bull chimera that surrendered to him in the tournament.

The bull looks absolutely terrified, wondering how he probably ended up so close to a battle that was way out of his league.

Seccessus did not give him the chance to rue his mistake. He immediately used his right chain to catch the bull.

With one powerful pull, he forces his victim to come closer. The bull who already was aware that Seccessus could kill him at any moment quickly stopped resisting and went to him.

"Hello there, do you remember me?" Seccessus says towards the trapped bull chimera with a bright smile, which terrified the chimera more than his cold eyes.

"Another one! Stop avoiding me and come fight" Ulthris yells his patience has already long been trampled upon.

The green-eyed shade demon ignored the remarks. Ulthris words and opinion were quite frankly not important.

"Ignore him, do you still remember me?"

The bull chimera nods, not speaking in the hopes of not angering this monster in front of him.

"I spared your life right?"

*nods*

"Are you happy about that?"

*nods fervently*

"Then you owe me a favor right?" Seccessus says lifting up the head of the bull chimera, forcing eye contact with him.

The bull chimera nods again, this time unable to hide his eyes filled with fear.

"Would you be so kind to transport Tharnomath around? He's quite injured, you see, but he has work to do. It would be quite a shame if he couldn't finish it. Don't you agree?"

The bull chimera begins to nod again, but Seccesus's hand is still grabbing his chin. This time there is force behind it as he holds the bull chimera's face in place.

"Are you going to do it? Tell me please, I'd love to hear your answer."

"....Yes..... I will do as you wish." The chimera replies meekly.

"Brilliant! Take care now" Seccesus replies letting the bull go, his green emerald eyes glisten satisfied.
