Chapter 4: Chapter 4: Municipality of Djenné, Konate Textiles, and Planning.

After two days of hustling through the high temperatures of the desert, Solomon was only a few miles away. During that time Solomon spent all his time practicing the disillusionment charm and improving his version of Zetsu. In addition, he stopped to refresh himself and to come up with a plan to breach the city.

As he made his way to the city, the more excited Solomon felt. Solomon's heart began to beat faster as he got closer to civilization. His palms began to sweat as he heard the different sounds that echoed from the city.

Solomon walked to the top of a smaller sand hill and looked towards the city, he saw the massive city walls and watch towers looming over. His mind began to work to the extreme coming up with a way to sneak in and avoid the watch towers. He was small enough to not be seen on the hill but being extra cautious he disillusioned himself before crawling to the top of the hill.

Making his way through the gate just by walking over would not work. First of all his mana core was still weak being so young and could only hold his invisibility for 20 minutes at the maximum. Crouching back down the hill Solomon contemplated his next steps. As he thought of a way to avoid the footsteps seen in the sand while disillusioned.

*soft rumbling* could be heard in the distance as a caravan rolled by. Solomon was so lost in his thoughts that he almost missed a great entry ticket as the caravan rolled under the hill. Solomon swirls his wand to cast a disillusionment charm once more around himself as he snuck into the rear carriage. There was a bunch of luggage and supplies in the back as he lay on top of the fabrics, he could hear the voices of the driver and passenger at the front of the carriage.

"Did you hear about what is happening in Bamako?" asked the younger man, who sounded youthful.

"Yes, there is a lot of unrest in the capital this year" replied an older gentleman. "There will be hard times to come these following years…" as the older man continued to talk Solomon dwelled on the small information he heard.

Bamako.

Bamako. He went through all the capitals he knew until it finally dawned on him what country he was in.

Mali.

The portkey his mother sent him away with made him travel all the way from Casablanca Morocco to the harsh desert of Mali.

Shit.

God damn are you fucking kidding me thought Solomon. He was further away from his destination than ever. The voices of the gentlemen got lower and lower the closer they got to the city gate until it was but a whisper.

"Hold," a booming voice rang as the carriage slowed to a halt.

"Why have you traveled to Djenné?" as the guard.

"We have come to Djenné for business," responded the older man.

"Where have you come from and what business do you have here?" the guard questioned.

"From the capital, we have brought fabrics with us," the older man replied too hastily.

A whistle came and footsteps could be heard around. Solomon took out his wand and disillusioned himself once again.

*Swoosh* as the curtain was flung open.

The blinding sunlight hit Solomon in the face as a young guard peered his way into the carriage. All the young guard could see was fabric. He rustled a bit of the fabric to see if there was anything else hidden underneath it.

"It's fabric sir," the young guard yelled and released the curtain again.

Another guard walked over and took their passports for verification. The carriage was finally let go and continued its journey in the city. Solomon peaked his head through the curtain crack that the young guard left open to get a view of Djenné. The carriage made its way through the wall toward the center of the city. The closer to inner Djenné they got the louder the pedestrian traffic until all you could hear was merchants yelling, bidding, and negotiating.

After a few minutes, the carriage came to a stop in front of a shop called "Konate Textiles"

"Yaya, take the carriage to the back of Uncle's shop," the older man said as he got off the carriage.

"I will father, see you in a bit," Yaya responded, grabbing ahold of the reins.

Before the Yaya drove off Solomon jumped out of the carriage, invisible and as quietly as he could. He followed the father into the shop. Solomon was still disillusioned so he had to walk slowly and lightly on his feet because the disillusionment charms cannot cancel the sound you make and the imprint on the ground. Solomon stuck close to the father and crept inside the door as it began to close. He kept a close ear on the conversation between Ade, who he learned was the name of Yaya's father, and Konate.

Solomon learned a few valuable pieces of information but the most important piece was Abe and Yaya's journey back to Bamako in 2 months. This was important because Solomon's next stop would be Bamako. He listen a bit more and began to make his way toward the back of the shop where Yaya could be heard working. After a few more minutes the backdoor began to open as Yaya made his way into the shop and Solomon on the way out.

1965 CE, on a roof in Djenné

Solomon sat on a dusty roof thinking about his time in the desert and his next plan. He had about 2 months till the journey to the capital. Currently, in the United Kingdom, a terrorist is waiting to start a war. If Solomon's memory served him right Tommy boy started recruiting followers during and after the second world war in 1945. It has been 20 years and most of his planning should be done. That meant going to England now was a risk without the safety of Hogwarts and his magic being immature. But, Solomon had enough courage and know how to reap the benefit in the shadows before his schooling began.

Solomon cracked open his journal and began to write down the next steps to get to England. He could proceed in 2 different ways both coming with their own risk. First, he could go the muggle route, which entitled getting a passport at the age of 5. It should not be too hard with polyjuice but for the next few months, he would have to practice the Confundus Charm: Confondo. Getting a least 2 passports is an important objective, one for the age of 5 and one for the age of 20. The alternative way is to make his way to the magical community in Africa. Solomon remembered there was a magical school called Uagadou somewhere in East Africa, which meant there was a magical community in Africa but finding it would be a struggle within itself. There are magical communities everywhere across the globe, finding a community hidden from the world without a starting point is like finding Waldo. Out of those options Solomon chose the former. Solomon got up from the roof and brushed the dirt from his pants, now it was time to get some money.

Two months later: Outside Konate Textiles

For the last 2 months, Solomon disillusioned himself stealing money all throughout the Djenné. The total amount he stole was around 8,000 CFA or Central African Franc, which hardly got noticed because it was not all from one source. He went around the market every day working shifts of 3 to 4 hours stealing a maximum of 140 CFA. If all 8,000 was stolen at once it would definitely get noticed but through the increments of 60 days, it went unnoticed in the city of thousands. After he reached what was needed for the passports and ticket to England he stopped and waited for the trip to the capital, besides today was the departure date. If Solomon needs more funds he will take what is needed in the capital whose population is in the millions.

"Yaya, is everything ready?" Abe questioned his son.

"I packed everything father," Yaya responded. "Good," with that confirmation the duo of father and son took off to the capital not knowing there was an unexpected passenger on the week-long journey to Bamako.
