Chapter 1: Unfolding
I look at my hands. I focus on them.
I can feel energy pulsing through them.
I suddenly can read myself.
Skills: Mind Pierce, Soul and Weapon
Abilities: none
"Huh that is odd." Says the selection manager.
"It looks like you have 'mind pierce' and 'soul and weapon'."
I feel my force pull back my energy.
"In terms of measurement, it looks like you have a total amount of 20 units of skill energy.
It may seem that both skills use 10 units.
A normal human would have 15 units.
They will also have at most one of these high energy cost skills.
You are different.
However, you will still be tested in the entrance examinations. "
That is what they said to me.
I found out that all the people in the selection management team had the mind pierce ability.
I also found out that people all have many, many skills.
Just by looking at them, I was able to find out.
My name is Ivan Chuan.
No more intros because this is taking up the story.
Here we go.
"Wait, I have the skills to read someone's statistics?" I said to myself.
I stared at my hands again, this time trying to keep my energy inside my head.
"So, what did they say?" Ned said, carefully approaching.
Still, I was shocked.
I had 2 of the rarest skills and I was unaware.
Before they told me that I could stare at myself and gain all my information, I was clueless about all of this magic.
Well, I guess when no one is there to teach you, you may miss some info.
My brother was rarely home, as he was one of the elites that patrol the far edges of the empire.
I backtracked to the door and did the Atomus solute.
I walk past the propped wooden door, probably made of Archer's Pine.
The large scent was enough to know what it was.
"Hey how did it go?" He asked. "It was fine…" "Ivan, you okay?
You look like something is going on."
"Yeah."
"You are probably not, I know, you do not have to spill it to me."
I didn't say anything.
"Well what skills did you have?" He asked.
"You can go first buddy." I spoke.
"Well then," Ned grinned, "well I got sword artist, fist artist, stamina stores, and reaction speed.
A pretty decent close in melee combo if you ask me.
When I find my favorable sword, I will gain these traits the longer I train with it and connect with it."
"Well then it is my turn I guess." I sighed.
"I have Mind Pierce, Soul and weapon, and that's it."
"Wait, you're serious?"
"Definitely am!"
"Huh, when did you get 20 units of skill energy?"
"Good question, I don't know."
"I bet the military is going to give you some kind of special training."
"Yeah same."
"Looks like nature favored you."
Ned turned to face the other way, I just stood there for a second feeling slightly awkward.
He chuckles a little bit, and yawns.
"Oh, by the way," Ned turned back around, "I have a paper.
I took the paper that was handed to me.
It had the full details about every stage of training, and also information about the entrance examination.
"Oh thanks, where did you get it?"
"I picked it up from the table over there"
Lifting up his left hand and pointing down the carpeted hall down to the uncarpeted area.
A couple of tables with flyers for entrance prep.
I may need to practice before I go to the examination.
I only had 2 weeks to practice.
"Well then, thanks." I spoke.
"You're welcome." There was a pause.
"Well, I need to go soon; I need to go train, future comrade."
"Yeah, see Ya' later, future comrade."
