eTraining with a servant from Fate/Series is by no mean easy as they are a heroic spirit who come from a different era and generation. Some of them believe that combat is the most effective way to learn martial arts especially Archer Emiya Shirou but all he did is trained him in sword though. He also learns from different masters overtime especially Attila as she surpasses every Servant in terms of combat power alone. Even Scathach a God can only battle her to Standstill. Just like that the torture when on.
What makes him excited is he also learn to forge from Muramasa as his way of fighting is mainly relies on the sword. His skill in forging is comparable to God as we know in a battle he blows Houzouin Inshun into half by just a swing of his sword. Kai doubts that his skill even surpasses the Divine Craftsman Zhen Hua in DD3 able to surpass him in forging. But what he learns from Muramasa is too useful to pass on the weakness and strength of weapon the state of the weapon itself and how to revive a sleeping sword. As in legend when the warrior dies the sword goes along with them but a Godly swordsmith can bring it's back to life.
Kai by no mean an idiot when coming to learn martial arts but imagine learning from all the servants in Fate it takes time.
As for Li Qiye, he only said that if you can't even win against those servants there no way I'll teach you as my way of Martial Art is strongest in the Universe.

Finally, Kai able to learn every style and techniques in hand to hand combat, movement techniques, sword and spears techniques but yet to learn about anybody refinement techniques from them as most of them refines their body by external help such as Dragon heart or bath in dragon blood or blessing from God so his only hope is to wait until he created his style and techniques and go on to learn from Li Qiye.
Yet the hell remains for Kai as long as he learns and masters the skill from servants they start to lose the control of their mind and body and come to him with the intention to kills and the most annoying things he had to deal with is his emotion as he trained with them they are his master in his mind but the decision to destroy them is a hard one.
At some point Kai makes up his mind as killing them will release them from suffering that they had from losing control of their minds and body. Yet he guesses wrong as he killed them their body didn't disappear but preserve and wait for the final fight when they had to gang up with all other servants to go all out of him as a final battle.
Kai learns and kills his master over and over as he has lots of masters and his knowledge continues to grow.
1000 years pass after that Kai finally able to create his fighting techniques,
Close combat techniques consist of only 5 techniques that can be used to chain a combo and fight from any position to put it simply, every part of his body is a weapon to kill.
Knee Strike - As a name suggests using the knee as a weapon the technique can be used to combine with any other 5 techniques simultaneously,
Hand of Death - the use of fist, palm and other parts of the hand includes punch, jab, etc. Mainly use for an attack as no other strike better then punch your enemy in the face.
Elbow Strike- mainly use for attack and defense as Elbow is one of the biggest bone in the human body use it's as a weapon mean absolute death to the enemy.
Finger Strike- make use of grappling techniques, claw and other finger relate techniques.
Leg Strike- Kicking from any direction and angle enchanted flexibility and attack power as faster means stronger in the law of physic.
His sword training also makes progress as he manages to grab basic to advance and advance to Supreme and everything returns to basic.
What he created is sword art techniques consist of basic of the very basic but applying the principle weight, sharpness, softness, speed, and annihilation of the final form of combining the 4 essences. Piercing- Death Strike: As of right timing and power enough to lead to death so no other useless move needed.
Absolute Defense- Defense needs the right timing as he understands the concept of time he also makes use of strength and stability to create this move.
Successfully create the technique he starts wars against servant as all of them start to lose their mind and control over their body. Coming at him with killing intent, all of them lose their mind Kai had no more hesitation as he had in the past as he already accepts the fact that killing them proves that his skills are better and stronger. Thank infinite stamina Kai battle continuously for 7 days and nights until he slays the strongest of them all Altera within 100 moves.
Li Qiye appears after that and tells him that now he qualifies to learn his techniques. " You already had mastery over the concept of sword, spear and close combat but it's can be improved. I decide to teach you two of my personal Techniques Finality and Ten Thousand world. With these two techniques, you can take your sword techniques to a higher level as Finality is a body strengthening techniques consist of Principle of sword and Physique Scripture. As for Ten Thousand world is the concept of space which involves the law of time and spaces my movement techniques are derived from this use this to improve your ability."
Kai spends 10 years to comprehend those two techniques in the end he able to fight to a standstill with Li Qiye using just techniques alone.
