Chapter 2: Bonded
Lucia hugged Rosalie tightly who stood there looking weak in pain. She cried as if Rosalie was in her death bed. She was worried sick for her best friend who hadn't picked up her phone for two days.
"Do you have any idea what the date is today?" Lucia asked the now puzzled Rosalie.
"12th October" Rosalie whispered, a little unsure, struggling to breathe.
Lucia's face was painted with shock.
"It's 14th October" She answered, still in shock.
No wonder Rosalie was in such a bad state. Her head was continuously paining and her vision was getting blurry. She could hardly keep her eyes open. The pain had spread through her body already. She lay on the couch, sweating profusely.
"What's wrong with you?" Lucia asked, noticing Rosalie's physical condition at that moment. There was no reply from Rosalie.
As she touched Rosalie's right palm, she immediately drew her hand away. The latter's skin was ice cold. She looked at Rosalie, her brows knitted in frustration. She looked exhausted. Lucia called the doctor to come there.
Lucia rushed to the door that was being knocked. As she opened it, she saw Dr. Clifford smiling at her.
"Something's wrong with her" She reported him, pointing at Rosalie.
He walked to Rosalie who lay on the bed unconscious. He touched her forehead which was ice cold. As he took her left wrist to check her pulse, he noticed a blue bruise. He was tensed, he knew what was wrong with the pale and weak girl on the bed.
"She's bonded"-he paused for awhile to look at Lucia's expression-"The pain is killing her. Did you know when that happened?" he asked Lucia.
"Probably at the day of concert on 11th October" Lucia replied.
"Whatever it is, you have to find her soulmate as soon as possible. Else"- he looked at Lucia-" She might die."
Lucia was shocked. She didn't want to lose Rosalie- her best friend. The doctor left, leaving some medicines for Rosalie to kill the pain. He was aware of the fact that the medicines wouldn't help her totally- only her soulmate could do that.
Lucia wasn't sure what to do. It had been just 15 minutes after the doctor's departure. Suddenly, someone knocked at the door. She rushed again- to see if there was someone important.
She saw two men- one in his fifties or late forties and the other was probably in his thirties. They smiled at her politely.
"We want to know about your friend. She has been bonded, right?" the older man asked.
"Ye-yeah" Lucia replied.
"And it was probably on Sunday, right?" he asked again.
"Yeah. How do you know?" Lucia asked.
"Miss Ashton, your friend is bonded with our master" he said, not answering Lucia's question.
"I think we should take her with us, to our mansion. You don't want your friend to die, do you?" the other guy asked.
Lucia couldn't trust them completely. She was doubting their behavior and their sudden entry. But, it could be true. So, she insisted to come with them. To her surprise, the men agreed without any hesitation. So, she followed them as the younger man was giving Rosalie a princess carry.
She was surprised as she got down the building and saw a limousine. They asked her to get in and carefully placed Rosalie's unconscious body on the seat so that the latter was comfortable. Lucia was pleased with the way they were treating her best friend. After awhile, the limo came to a stop. Lucia was amazed when she got out and saw the mansion. It was beautiful and magnificent.
"Who's your so-called master?" Lucia asked the men.
The older man smiled at her question and answered- "Robert Tennyson"
She looked in surprise and fear. Her best friend who was an enchantress or a good witch was bonded with a vampire- their natural enemies.
