Chapter 57: XVII. Close Cards Revealed
Fear entered the courtroom. All eyes were on the princess' gallery as she was held at gunpoint. The aide removed her disguise revealing none other than the escaped assassin, Ice Queen.
Ice Queen, true to her alias, placed Nico into a frozen shock. She let out a small grin before squeezing the trigger of her gun.
A deafening thunder echoed inside the room.
Much to Nico's surprise and everyone else viewing, she wasn't dead. Instead the Ice Queen was placed in disbelief as her gun holding hand was gripped on firmly by the other remaining aide. Her eyes screamed in frustration.
As the other aide held steady on the Ice Queen's hand, she twisted the gun out of her. Then she took the opportunity to kick her in the gut.
The Ice Queen was pushed back, she drew another gun from her body and aimed at the aide. The aide slapped the gun away from her face before the Ice Queen could squeeze the trigger and pulled her own gun as well.
She fired the gun at a point blank range to which the Ice Queen dodged. Both ladies stepped back, glanced at their opponents in an irritated but still in awe.
"I can see why the boys had such a hard time with you." The aide commented as she removed her disguise as well revealing Celestine.
The Ice Queen clacked her tongue in anger. She charged at Celestine as they began to brawl. Ice Queen's punch packs so much force to which Celestine just bounced off with the fluidity of her parries.
Both fighters were almost equally matched. In fact brawl is not a word fit to describe the event, rather it is like two mesmerized birds engaged in a courtship dance.
Everyone below was so caught up in the wonderful display of grace and tenacity of the fighters above, even the cameraman focused his attention to them.
Their fight showed no clear indication of who the victor might be. But then in one small misstep it became clear. Celestine's punch was a little off mark, the Ice Queen took this opportunity to grab her wrist and knee her in the gut.
Still holding her hand, the Ice Queen tossed Celestine to the closest wall like a rag doll.
The duke grinned. One soldier of the firing squad saw this as a signal, he drew his gun at the duke. That action split the entire courtroom to those who love the planet and the royal family, and those who pledged their loyalty to the duke.
Everyone was at a stand still as people aimed at their former colleagues. While Strife and I stuck closely to Julia. On that moment you could hear a pin drop.
But to subvert expectations, no pin was dropped. Rather it was louder than a pin, it was the cracking and crashing of glass from above.
Naturally everyone looked up. There we saw both the Ice Queen and Celestine fall down to the ground. In a loud thud both landed on the ground, Celestine was safe as she used the Ice Queen as her cushion to break her fall.
Although she fell directly to the ground, the Ice Queen looked fine. In fact she was pissed more than ever. Celestine saw this and immediately pummeled the Ice Queen repeatedly.
Everyone was dumbfounded to see the ladies turn their dance like fighting into a bar fight. Their actions bled into the crowd as everyone started fighting like drunkards with guns.
Celestine did her best to beat the ever loving crap out of the Ice Queen to which the later found no space for a counterattack. The Ice Queen kept covering her face from Celestine. With no opening in sight, she decided to make one as she pulled on Celestine's hair. She grabbed it and dragged her off her body.
It was the Ice Queen's turn to come after Celestine. As she pounced on her, Celestine kicked her right in the chest knocking her back. Celestine reached out to one of the tables, grabbed a glass of water, and smashed the glass right on the Ice Queen's head.
Celestine felt that her opponent's attacks were weaker than before so gave a satisfied grin.
Celestine rushed in to deliver her knee on the Ice Queen's face. Before the momentum could slam her body on the ground, Celestine grabbed tight on her hair then dragged her to the nearby wall.
Before she could be slammed in to the wall, the Ice Queen grabbed onto Celestine's arm and served a gut punch. It knocked Celestine back.
The Ice Queen rushed in to add another kick, Celestine saw through her. Celestine quickly grabbed another brawler and used him as a shield.
In that moment I could confirm that the beautiful ballet did indeed devolve into a bar fight as Celestine would sometimes go into a tangent brawl with anyone in her path. Her opponent felt that she was no longer her priority, decided to dash towards Celestine. Celestine saw this and quickly knelt down to trip over her enemy.
Celestine's next movhecwas to jump into the Ice Queen with her elbows sticking out. The Ice Queen groaned in agony. Celestine glanced out to see a police officer, she reached over to snatch the police's handcuff as she then wore it on her knuckles.
She began to pound on the Ice Queen until her face was barely recognizable. Celestine's continued hammer ended with her grabbing Ice Queen by the collar, drag her to the nearby table. She then proceeded to carry her overhead, finishing it with a heavy body slam that broke the table.
In that moment the victor was clearly painted. The best fighter on board the Swift stood proud. Celestine took a minute to dilute her overflowing adrenaline.
She pulled out her gun but before she squeezed the trigger she looked up above to Nico. She and the princess locked eyes, Celestine was clearly looking for an instruction.
Nico took pity for Celestine's enemy, shook her head. Celestine saw this as a clear sign, holstered her gun and instead cuffed the Ice Queen down.
