Chapter 17: Time Waits for No-one

I was back in the hangar getting used to my new body and my new strength. I was focusing hard on my ki circulation and looking for any problems. Where I found binds in the ki cycle I would iron it out until the ki could flow easily. Sometimes that was by moving meridians to a more optimal location, other times it was widening the meridians. But the most important thing I did with my Ki was to create a two more cores in my gut and heart. With these three cores, in my brain, my heart and my gut I gained a much stronger flow of Ki. This meant my Ki was much more manageable.

Slowly but surely my ki cycled faster and faster with each repetition. To aid with my ki circulation I also started practicing my SPARTAN close combat. As I did I made sure that each strike, each kick, each movement is now aided with ki. My attacks were now just as strong a my previous modified body in the body of a four to five year child.

I was strong and I was getting stronger the more I practiced with ki. I still did physical training to allow my muscles to form into the shapes I needed for my future growth. But for the most past I focused on the ki training as it would be much better for me in the future.

Hours pass by swiftly as I began to ingrain my ki into my very self filling in any open spaces left behind by the five level tempering. Ki would be a part of me from this point on and I was going to use it to its very limits. Days flowed by as I was lost in my battle trance. Slowly but surely my ki was resonating with my every breath and every heartbeat. Before long it responded to my very thought.

It was at this point that Valkyry suggested I mentally shape my previous enemies. With these enemies I could train my Ki strikes to attack with just the right amount of force to either incapacitate or to kill.

This mental training gave me more options for my creations to the point I could give each one a density similar to my armor and the flexibility of a gymnast. Slowly but surely my enemies took shape. Even the weapons became close replicas as I sent my Ki into my mental constructs allowing them to shoot Ki based bullets and plasma blasts at me.

Before I knew it months had passed as I fought the shadows of my past. I fought the battles of my past. Each engagement, each planet, each construct, each flood of enemies. I repeated my past life's fights with new ways of fighting. With Valkyry's aid I was able to integrate the martial arts missing from the SPARTAN close combat martial art in addition to ways I could use my new appendage. As SPARTAN martial arts were a death dealing martial art only focused on killing as quickly as possible. But I learned to grapple, control my opponent, nerve strikes, accupoints, and other smaller minutia that would aid me in my fights in the future.

I had remastered and even increased my mastery of SPARTAN CQC to a whole new level. After that was done I repeated everything this time I was aided by ki. My strikes became faster. My kicks harder. I even got in some tail whips that cracked the air. Loud whomps of air were heard each time I moved as I pushed through the air like molasses.

After I fought my past shadows I turned to focus on trying to cover my body in ki to give myself protection. The seeming clear flames that surrounded the z fighters was an out pouring of Ki that was a form of enhanced armor that gave the fighters better reactions, more protection from kinetic and Ki attacks while also increasing eye sight, hearing and smell along with filtering the air as needed.

A few more months passed as I became accustomed to the outpouring of Ki or the Ki cloak as I was wan to call it.

My growth is staggering when you look at it from a normal cultivators view but this growth is wholly due to my boon by my benefactor in the form of a seemingly endless supply of ki to start off with. Normally a cultivator would need to pull in ki from the outside world and convert it into their own by putting their metaphorical finger print on the energy. This process takes an immense amount of time depending on how in tune with ki you are and how perceptive you are to the energy.

But the third component is the amount of ki you could pull in at one time. If you are lucky you could pull in a small amount, like a cup of it and it would be considered a huge amount compared to me where I was given oceans worth ten times over. The reason they could not absorb more ki would be that due to the cultivators natural physic and the accumulated impurities. Cultivators would be able to absorb more ki if they were cleansed and if they had bodies in tune with ki. This is why the first steps of cultivating are to clear away your impurities within your body, to allow you access to more power while altering your body to better connect with and use ki.

To put it simply I was pretty much given an inexhaustible amount of ki to do with as I wanted to start off with. This gives me at least ten years of advantage over normal cultivators if not more. That added to the mental training affecting my physical body within the compressed time that Valkyry controlled I was given at least 20 years of advancement.

Adding in my previous training I was given a golden spoon.

I really wondered how fucked up with world was likely to be for me to be given such a powerful boon.

I shared my worry with Valkyry. "I am really starting to worry about the future if I am given such a powerful head start, what kinds of threats am I likely to face?" I asked as I was sitting down to meditate, circulating my ki.

I had finally opened all of my meridians after my intense training period.

I could now control the amount of power I let out as I fought. There was little to no rampaging ki with my control put in place. But the ki was far more potent now that it was under control than it was before, when I released it when my emotional control was weak.

Should I let out my anger and wrath it would burn like plasma melting my surroundings. So I could not allow myself any angry emotional outbursts beyond my control or others would be in danger.

"Oh the normal baddies of this universe; Savage, the Joker, Bizzaro, Lobo, Mongol, Despero, Brainiac, the Gods Old and New, Darkseid, Trigon, Black Atom, Doomsday, Starro, the Lantern Corps, any dimensional hoppers, Raz' Al Ghul, Ocean Master, the speedsters, meta-humans, alien races, Amazo, the evil magic users, the Lords of Chaos, the Reach, demons, Hell, the Flood, plus all the rest." Valkyry said as she added fingers to one hand as she called them out.

I smirked as the action reminded me of the greatest animated genie of all time, which I am sure was her intention. I hope he is still alive in this universe.

"So only a small number." I laughed.

"You now live in the world of Gods and Monsters the likes of which only the Forerunner sentinels could compare with, and there are far more of them here." Valkyry said as she walked over to the supercomputer for the hangar. She pulled up my plans for the future. "Some of them will be dealt with if you follow your plans. Others will be weakened if you follow through."

"Yeah, but the greatest plan a majority of my future actions hinge on includes you though. If you get the body I am hoping for you may become the strongest being in this universe if not others as well." I said as I looked over at her.

"That may be the case. But I know you won't be far behind." She looked at me with a smile before it slowly melted away, "And...It will change what I am." Valkyry said as she stared at me with worry in her expression.

"Who cares. You will be you no matter what happens. You wouldn't let unending power change you. You already had that in heaven from what I understood. Plus I know you can't leave this handsome figure of mine." I said as I stood and flexed towards her in my now 7-8 year old looking body.

She expression softened as she laughed rolling her eyes. "Right. Well anyway returning to your question. I was given some knowledge of the surrounding universes to this one. It seems we are close to the edge of the line between light and dark multiverses. This means far more deadly and insidious beings will bleed through to this universe. So this means there are far more battles likely to happen. For that reason you were given so much to start yourself off with. If it went normally and you didn't have these boons, you would be devoured by - the dark side." The last sentence she tried for a spooky voice.

I raised an eyebrow as I looked at her. "So more bads to fight and more darkness to shine light on. Alright sounds like a grand old time. This means I absolutely have to get you a body." I said as more ideas for how her future body would come into being. I may need to force the situation if it doesn't turn out the way I was hoping for.

"Yes to the first, but I would recommend you focus on yourself first before thinking of trying to help me, for the second. If you are not strong enough, you may not be able to push it like I know you are thinking." Valkyry said as she squinted at me.

Holding up my hands to ward off her cold gaze I said, "Rodger. I will get it done." I turned to look of into the blackness of space and thought of more nightmares I could clear away with my current body and mind. "Lets go shine some light on these shadows. I feel like stretching my body for a bit."

"That is a good idea. Where would you like to start?" Valkyry asked as she plugged into the ship.

"Lets go...home. It has been a long time since I have been there." I said as memories of my time on my home planet filled my mind.

"Good suggestion." After saying so Valkyry's voice called over the speakers all over the ship. "Mobilization Alert. Destination: Pangea. Departure Time: 1300. All stations prepare for departure."

Immediately sirens went off. The Navy personnel began to rush to their designated sections to prepare the ship for transport. The Marines tied down all the equipment that was loose and organized the weapons to be prepared for any situation before throwing themselves into cryo-chambers.

Valkyry unhooked from the supercomputer and turned back to me, "Ready to go?"

"Yeah." I said as I stood up and stretched. "Lets go home."

As we were walking out of the hangar I asked Valkyry, "Valk, is there any way to know what is going on in the outside world so I am prepared should something come up? I want to be ready for any changes."

Valkyry thought for a few moments before she spoke. "Yes. I will need to utilize your ki to do so but I can get a general sense if I send out pulses of ki. Plus whatever Jor-El is connected to."

"Do it. With us being close to the dark multiverse I don't want to take any chances. Oh by the way how are my Ki levels now?" I asked as I turned to her as we went down the corridor.

"You are edging in on 60%. If you continue in the way you have, you will be able to achieve flight and the first stages of Kaio-Ken before you finish off the energy. But if you end up controlling the Oozaru you will have a massive dump of ki that will put you back up over 100%. If that happens you will have to enter the Oozaru state until you bleed off the energy, in here and the real world as needed." Valkyry said as she looked on with little worry on her face.

My eye widened after hearing the number. Even after all this time training I had never gotten to below 50%. What the shit?

I shook my head and spoke a mantra that had become the bane of my existence in my past life. "Time waits for no one." I said as I sighed.

Valkyry just smirked. "You will achieve it Broly. Just keep working hard and you will finish before too long."

We went on towards my home planet.

Outside of Broly's Mind.

Gotham, United States.

Robin was racing across the rooftops as he was chasing the burglars. This was his fifth bust and the night had only just started. He was being run ragged as the criminals got smart when they realized Batman wasn't in Gotham and hadn't been for a month now. More and more crime was popping up as time passed and he was not having an effect like his mentor could on the city.

"Gah this is annoying! I need to find where Scarecrow went with his Fear gas. If I don't track that shipment down there will be a blood bath." Dick said as he jumped from the roof towards the unsuspecting burglars. As he reached the street he grabbed a light pole and spun around it a couple times before he released aiming directly at the backs of the burglars. He hit both at the same time forcing them to their faces as they were in a headlong dash. With a flick of his hand Dick sent two bolos around the hands of the crooks.

"You know he left us a message to stay away from Scarecrow right?" Jason's voice came over the communicator.

"Yeah well he isn't here and he doesn't know the size of the shipment! If he did I don't think he would say the same thing again." Dick said as he tied up the two burglars before he shot his grappling hook and headed off to another mugging happening two blocks over.

There was silence on the comms before Jason responded, "You are right. I don't think he's ever made such a huge amount of Fear gas before. What could it be for? I mean its not like there is anything going on in Gotham. No politicians, no ambassadors, not even AA meetings. Where is it going?" Jason asked no one.

"Well if we don't find out a whole lot of people are going to get hurt and I will not let that happen." Dick said as he threw his batarang towards the muggers weapon holding hand. With a loud clang the weapon fell to the ground before Dick raced at the mugger. In a span of two seconds the mugger was down and being tied up.

Looking up to the shaking woman Dick said with his most upbeat voice, "You are safe now miss. Just call the police and stay away from dark alleyways." Dick gave a smile before he turned to leave.

"Thank you for that! But you should pay more attention boy wonder because you aren't safe." A soft sensual voice said as the woman stopped shaking before a change came over her body. Slowly her form changed into the green of lively plants. Vines appeared behind her before they shot forward to entangle the boy wonder.

"Oh crap it's Posi-" He got no further before he was wrapped up and a hard blow came to the back of his head. As the dark started to consume his vision Dick heard another voice.

"He almost escaped. Don't grandstand next time." A deep voice said before a shadow stepped forward. Orange and black covered this person. He had two swords on his back.

'Deathstroke.' Dick thought as he went unconscious.

Jason was yelling into the comms unit as he watched his brother in all but blood get taken away by two of Batman's greatest enemies. Poison Ivy and Deathstroke. What could those two be doing together? It couldn't be good. And now that they have Dick they were even more of a threat. Jason worked the computer as well as he could but he was no wiz like Dick so he was slowly losing the locator on Robin.

Sending out a distress call to the Justice League, Jason gave them a run down even as he kept attempting to find his brother.

Jason slammed his hands onto the supercomputer as he thought of what else he could do. Maybe Alfred would know. As much as he wanted to race out to help Dick he couldn't otherwise he would be caught even faster than Dick. For now he needed information, a plan and backup.

Hopefully the new League members would be able to save Dick.

Central City, United States.

Wally was running around dealing with the normal riffraff of the city with his normal alacrity. With plenty of wedgies and tied shoe laces. If they were particularly bad he would draw pictures of them in compromising positions and leave it on their unconscious forms. Crime was slightly higher without the Flash but it wasn't too high.

Wally was sent a message from Star Labs, they picked up an attack at the museum and sent it to his comm. "What do they want with the old stuff?" Speeding down the road Wally appeared just as Captain Cold punched out one of the guards. The front of museum was covered in ice save for the door.

Wally rushed forward and appeared right as Captain Cold was turning towards him. Throwing a punch Wally was hit from the side, right in the head. Wally fell and rolled to a stop as he slid on the ice. Looking up groggily Wally saw as Mirror Master appeared from the ice smiling beside Captain Cold.

"Told you he would rush in without thinking." Mirror Master said as he looked at Captain Cold.

"Yeah, yeah. Let's just get this over with." Captain Cold pointed his freeze gun at Wally.

Wally tried to run but as he did he slipped on the ice and was hit by the freeze gun. Ice coated his body locking him in place.

As the ice finished covering him Mirror Master stepped forward and lifted a boot. "Nighty night Kid-Flash."

Wally knew only pain before blackness took him.

New Orleans, United States.

Lightning flashed in the sky two different colors. One blood red the other golden.

"Come on old man! I thought you had more in you! What is up with your pathetic showing?" Klarion asked as he threw a bolt of eldritch energy at Dr. Fate who blocked with his signature golden Ankh.

"Begone filth." Dr. Fate said as he threw out a couple golden chains.

"Wow. Name calling now? You really must be weak." Klarion said as he snickered. He flexed and broke out of the chains before sending his own towards Dr. Fate.

Dr. Fate blocked before he screamed as the ankh broke apart into particles, sending him to the top of his tower.

"You know what this is just sad. I was really hoping to feel something more than this. You are weak Nabu. If you don't find a new host soon you will be left on a shelf for all eternity." Klarion said, "If I don't destroy you first."

"You will never defeat me churl!" Dr. Fate said as he stood up and pointed his hands at Klarion. A beam of golden light flashed forward. A few seconds passed before the light fell away to reveal Klarion holding a hand to his yawning face.

"Is that all?" Klarion asked.

'Nabu! I can't go on like this! If I do I will die!' Kent Nelson screamed at the helmet.

'But we must defeat him! There is no telling what he could be planning to do!' Nabu said to his host.

'True but it won't do you any good if you can't act! Now get inside and lock up. Let the outer defenses keep him busy while we figure out what to do!' Kent Nelson said as he breathed hard.

Nabu was torn but he knew the right answer.

He turned and fled inside.

Klarion laughed as he shot out energy bolts at the back of Dr. Fate. "Running away? So unlike you Nabu! Well its no trouble for me. If I keep you here the rest of my tools will finish their work for me. Then you will become obsolete old man!"

Nabu felt a chill go down his spiritual spine. Kent Nelson was no better. Klarion never went small when he did things. They had to figure out how to break this choke hold. If they didn't the world could meet its doom.

Klarion watch as his old enemy sought refuge in his tower. Now was the time to put the plan into action. Fate would still be able to interact with the world and pull on his contacts. While he was busy Klarion rushed to the informant he had manipulated so long ago. Giving him the information and the blood he told him to send it to Dr. Fate even as Klarion began to give a long speech about the plan and its goals.

Once the mesmerized man left Klarion began laughing as he disappeared and met with his fellow evil magicians.

"Hello boys lets get this party started." Klarion said as he began chanting. Off to the side was the sidekick they had captured earlier that day, who was slumped on the ground. Hopefully Dr. Fate would do as Klarion expected or things were going to have to get rough.

Klarion smiled, who was he kidding he hoped it got rough.

Star City, United States.

Speedy was in a fire fight with a gang who was threatening the surrounding neighborhood. He had taken out the look outs and proceeded to take down the others quickly. But before he could accomplish what he wanted he was blasted into a car by a energy using meta. They had come from no where and blind sided him.

Now he was in real trouble. If he didn't get the meta down and out then the gang would tear up the neighborhood.

"Damn it!" Speedy yelled as he was singed by one of the energy blasts. "If I get hit by that I will be in real trouble. Need to prepare something good." Reaching back he picked out a specific arrow.

Twin electric and foam arrow recently developed to help handle the meta's that were popping up more and more as time passed.

Spinning out from behind the car he was hiding behind Speedy sent out his arrow. A split second later there was the sound of a can popping and the sound of electricity before a shrill scream echoed between the sounds of guns firing.

With quick reactions he started putting down the other gang members. Shortly Speedy finished knocking out all of the gangsters.

A few moments later there was a huge explosion nearby. Speedy knelt with an arrow ready. A short time later Green Arrow appeared.

"What the hell is going on?" Speedy asked.

"We need to go now! Get back to the hub! Move now!" Green Arrow yelled at Speedy.

With a smooth motion Green Arrow drew turned an fired into the distance. A second explosion echoed out followed by an angry scream.

Speedy was frozen for a fraction of a second before he followed Green Arrows orders. 'What the hell is goin on?!'

Watchtower, In Space above Earth.

Shazam appeared in the teleporter with Wally in his arms. He had knocked off the ice but could not heat him up properly. Shazam rushed over to the med-bay and placed Wally down. A second later the machine beeped before a few rings slid out of the bulkhead to surround Wally. Heat radiated from the inside of the rings.

Shazam seeing Wally was in a better condition he turned and looked over to Robin who was laying down in another bed. Shazam shook his head as he rushed to the monitoring area.

"What have you got? Any sign of Speedy?" Shazam asked.

"I was going to ask you that." Red Tornado said in his monotone Android voice.

"I didn't catch any sign of him as I rushed over to save Robin and Wally. But I was called over halfway through my search so they may have escaped." Shazam said with a dark expression.

"This is bad. We must contact the other potential League recruits and ask for aid." Red Tornado said as he turned to the monitor.

"What about Speedy?" Shazam asked.

"Green Arrow and Black Canary were able to save him from the trap but he was taken on his way back to their head quarters. They are beside themselves in worry and ready to tear down the city to find him. But for now we must regroup before we do something stupid." Red Tornado said as he sent out a call.

A second later an incoming call came from Dr. Fate. "Immediate recall of all heroes league or otherwise! Klarion is working with a group of mages. They are planning to wipe out the governments of the world. I will send you the locations. They plan to sacrifice Speedy to achieve their goal. I will also be bringing in a… form of support."

Red Tornado and Shazam looked to one another before they raced to begin preparations for the strike against the mages and save Speedy.

Fortress of Solitude.

Inside Broly's Mind.

I had just finished clearing my old world of Pangea. I showed Valkyry around my hometown and my old haunts before I was picked up by Halsey, it was very relaxing.

As I walked back towards the ship I turned to watch Valkyry freeze in place. Slowly her expression became drawn. She looked at me and said, "Trouble."

I nodded my head as I kept walking towards the ship. "Knew it was coming."

Valkyry looked at Broly's back remembering her creators words about all the SPARTANs. Each of them had an ability that was extraordinary compared to normal people. Some could hit a target from thousands of yards away without much aiming. Others could react without looking. Some had a form of prescience able to see things before they happened. While others seemed to force the world to their own vision.

It took Valkyry a while to figure out that Caleb, Broly had all of these things. That is why he was put on the impossible suicide mission behind enemy lines. It appeared an untold number of times.

It seems it had passed over to this world. And if what Valkyry knew was true then he would need it.

She followed behind Broly explaining the situation as they walked.

Sometime later the two of us walked into the hanger bay and looked upon the immense doors holding my rage from my previous life given form.

"Are you sure about this? By my calculations it is too soon for you to attempt this. It could cause immense damage to your mental and physical state." Valkyry asked as she looked between me and the hangar doors.

"Valkyry, I dealt with this rage all of my previous life. I will not allow it to control me. I was trained by the best. I am a SPARTAN. I will control this beast. Once I do then my life will be that much easier. Plus if I am right it will give me capabilities now as well as much later on that will give me a huge leg up in the battles to come." I said as I slowly walked towards the doors harboring my wrath.

"If I am right in assuming you plan to eventually gain the fourth stage before going onto the originals path to godhood?" Valkyry asked knowing my thoughts.

"Yes. The thing about the original is that they never allowed his true form to appear. He was a different race than human even if he looked exactly like them. I believe this caused them to grow slower than they could have. I also believe it gave them a physical and mental block to their progression. If he was in his true form when he became a god he would have beaten that cat within an inch of its life." I said as I now stood right in front of the hangar door.

"You are very far from reaching the first level let alone godly ki. Don't push too fast otherwise you will cause blockages. There are plenty of other places to visit outside of the ship and your home before you start here." Valkyry asked with worry.

"You know me Valk. I can't let an opportunity like this pass me by. I will grab anything within reach to survive, thrive, fight and protect. That is what I did in the past. I can't change my nature now." I paused as I looked into the past. "I need this guy to visit the other memories eventually. It will not be right otherwise. He was with me the whole time. He was the only one that kept me going so many times."

Vlakyry was silent as she stared at me. If I had turned around I would have seen a pain filled face that was also proud at the same time.

"No obstacles will bar the path." Valkyry said.

"No impossibility." I recited.

I pressed my hand to the hangar door. Alrams started blaring as red flashing lights strobed in the hangar bay. I stepped back into I could see the door in it's entirety. The thump of immense locks retracting was felt through my boots. I was still in my older form as I prepared to face my rage. I felt my body flush with energy as I circulated the ki within.

"Let's dance big guy!" I said with a mad smile.

The Oozaru stepped out into the hangar. Leaning forward it looked down at me before its lips pulled back to show his teeth. A second a later a roar echoed around the hangar as the Oozaru released some it's anger and wrath directly upon me.

I continued to smile, in fact I smiled wider as I felt my ki amount increase as I controlled all of the ki released from the Oozaru. Absorbing the torrential downpour of ki I used my carbon-titanium will to force my control over the ki. I watched as a minute change appeared in my eyes. The Oozaru shrank by the smallest amount.

I looked down and saw I had filled out just tiny bit more than I was a few moments ago. My bones became just a little denser, my muscles became more solid and toned, my tendons became tougher, my organs became more efficient. I even noticed my skin was tighter and my hair became stiffer and thicker.

I snorted in my mind at the innuendo.

Looking back up at my wrath given form I gave my suicidal smile I always gave my enemies in my past life. "Oh this is going to be a wonderful feast!"

I threw myself forward to face the 100 foot behemoth.

Outside Broly's Mind

Fortress of Solitude

Fate appeared at the Fortress of Solitude in the form of his signature ankh symbol. Fate had come across the information about a beast that could fight against the justice league with no injury. Seeing the situation for what it was Fate knew he needed this beast to fight the villains and stop the ritual from reaching completion. Using the blood as a focus Fate had found himself here in this crystal fortress.

Alarms started blaring as Jor-El immediately began defensive measures against intruders. The tramping of metal feet sounded as the robots in charge of upkeep of the fortress came to defend.

Jor-El appeared in his hologram form and stared at Dr. Fate. "Intruder why do you trespass here?"

In a deep modulated voice Dr. Fate spoke. "I was called here by a force of Order the likes of which have not been seen or felt in eons. Do not keep me from my task shade. Do not stand in the way of Order." Fate had been questioning the whole situation. It all seemed too good to be true. Another Lord of Order appearing just when he was in his most dire straights? He had sensed a huge power appear on Earth over a month ago but due to his battle with Klarion he was not able to investigate before it disappeared from his senses.

After learning of the ritual and then the blood of the beast, Fate was seeing a tenuous connection between them. Maybe this Lord of Order was a transformation type? After using the blood Fate realized that the blood was from the being he had sensed over a month ago. Questions began to pile on but for now he would do what was needed and that entailed pissing off one of the most powerful beings on the planet. In his own home.

The robots showed up surrounding Dr. Fate. Jor-El looked on with a angry expression, "Leave before you are forced to leave."

"I will not leave until I have come for what I was called here by. The world is in dire straights, shade. You would do well not to bar my path." Dr. Fate said.

A few seconds later the helmet turned towards Broly's location in the opaque crystalline capsule.

Jor-El seeing this took action. The robots rushed forward to attack Dr. Fate.

Dr. Fate snorted as he threw out an ankh that swelled blocking all of the attacks from the robots before it grew and swept across the robots sending them all to another location not too far away.

"Stop this! What do you want?" Jor-El asked Dr Fate. He was worried as he had a limited defense against magic. He also hoped to draw out the time till the robots were able to return.

"To stop a threat against the whole world. The Lords of Chaos are on the move and if we do not stop them soon they will send this world into hell. I saw what this thing turned into. His ability will be of great aid to us." Dr Fate said as he walked forward to Broly's capsule.

"He is only a baby! How can you put him in such danger?!" Jor-El yelled at Dr Fate.

"I need his beastly form. If I do not use him the world is lost. I will not allow him to come to harm. When all is said and done then you can yell at me. But in the end the world is far more important than one child." Dr Fate said as he pushed a ankh forward to break the capsule.

"If you found this place then you know he will come for you after he returns." Jor-El stated.

"He will have to get in line." Dr Fate said with immense tiredness. Jor-El noticed how depressed Fate became as he said this, as if he was loathing himself.

Fate snapped his fingers and an ankh picked up Broly. Jor-El noticed a difference in the child. With the amount of nutrients and the black liquid still coming out of his body Jor-El had watched as Broly grew at a visible rate over the first two weeks. But after that point an opaque shield had formed around him blocking Jor-El's visuals on the child. The shield was formed from a weird energy. Nothing For-El tried had passed through the shield.

But he could get other reading from the capsule itself. Slowly the volume of liquid was replaced which meant Broly had become denser and increased in size once again. But subtle emanations from the liquid also showed a power resonating from within. And for the last two weeks Jor-El had sensed spikes in the energy outpour again and again.

Looking upon Broly Jor-El noticed a difference. A huge difference. From an inch or two below his belly button brown black fur rose up Broly's sides covered his back, shoulders and arms. His hands, face, feet and chest were bare of fur. His tail was now three times larger than it was before. But the greatest shock was the fact that Broly's body was now that of a 7-8 year old child.

It had only been four and a half weeks since he was brought here. What was happening? His growth had not been that monstrous in the first two weeks. What had happened when that shield appeared? The fluctuations of the powerful energy had peaked only a short time ago before they leveled out at their highest point.

Jor-El had prepared contingencies in the case the child transformed as he had before but nothing had happened. Now having a visual and scans able to penetrate his area of control Jor-El picked out the boy's DNA pattern.

Once he saw the change Jor-El was lost as he found himself in a situation he had never thought to find himself in. He could not parse what this change meant. If he was reading what he could, from the skin cells left in the capsule, was right then the boy had ingrained the DNA of the lycanthrope into his brain allowing him control of the transformation at will.

But that could only be done if one had conscious…control…

Jor-El looked at the child and began to fret. A dangerous idea began to form in the constructs matrix. He looked deeper into the DNA that had kryptonian origins. He examined all of Broly's DNA and found only a trace of his sons genetic make up even as there were more kyptonian DNA patterns. Slowly warnings began to flash in his matrix as the DNA of his son were outnumbered by the DNA of a different Kryptonian.

Zod.

Horror filled Jor-El as he realized his mistake. He had only done simple skin level scans for Broly. If he had looked deeper he would have found Zod's DNA. It is likely that they had isolated the skin of Broly and forced Kal-El's DNA to fit in that area while filling the rest with Zod's DNA.

An even worse thought filled Jor-El's matrix. What if the conscious control had come from somewhere else?

If this was Zod from the Phantom Zone then he could be in control of the child. Just as Jor-El began to warn Dr. Fate against taking Broly, Fate disappeared from the Fortress.

"Oh, no." Jor-El said as he was plagued with doubts. He then began to make plans in the event the child was taken over by the phantom of Zod. Jor-El would be ready to send the phantom back into the Phantom Zone and free the child from his clutches. He would be ready. He just hoped Kal-El would be back soon to deal with this dangerous situation.
