Chapter 4: Escape 2

A group of scientists and guards burst into the room, their eyes widened in shock at the scene of destruction before them. Amidst the wreckage, they beheld the sight of the man with the metallic arm frozen in place, his expression twisted in a grotesque mask of rage and fury.

Baxter, the leading scientist, wasted no time in assessing the situation. Turning to one of the survivor guards, he demanded answers. "What in the world happened here?" he questioned, his voice tinged with urgency.

The survivor guard, still reeling from the chaos, stammered out a response. "The subject of experimentation... he escaped," he managed to articulate, his words carrying a weight of disbelief.

Baxter brow furrowed in frustration as he processed the gravity of the situation. "Escaped?" he repeated incredulously, his mind racing with the implications of such a breach.

Before he could formulate a plan of action, another guard interjected with urgent news.

"Sir, it appears that the cameras captured the subject running through the corridors. Apparently he's heading toward the outdoor area at the back of the building." The guard said as his hand pressing urgently on the earpiece.

Baxter expression darkened with anger as he issued a command to his team. "He's escaping you fool!! Capture him. At any cost," he ordered, his voice carrying the weight of authority.

As Baxter, the leading scientist, issued orders to his team to pursue Ethan, a sense of urgency permeated the air. The scientists and guards mobilized quickly, their footsteps echoing through the corridors as they raced after their elusive quarry.

Meanwhile, Ethan sprinted through the labyrinthine corridors, his heart pounding with adrenaline-fueled desperation.

"What the fuck is happening?!" Ethan confusedly said as he continued to run through the extensive corridors.

He didn't understand what was happening, because just a moment ago when he woke up, someone immediately injected something in him and now he is injured and is still being chased.

'This is crazy' He thought as he opened and closed his hand as he feel the strength in his body.

He feels that he's so strong that he can destroy an entire building with one blow, but he also felt weak because of the wounds he received.

Sigh

'I should get out of here for now'

Though he was unsure of his destination, his heightened senses guided him instinctively.

After some time he finally reach a door with something written on the top, "EXIT" was written in red. Ethan was relief knowing the exit was close, but there was one problem.

"Tsked, It's fucking lock!"

"What to do?!" Ethan tried to think some ideas to open it but nothing cane up to his mind until he decided to do it in a barbaric way.

"Haahh!!" With a primal roar of determination. Ethan unleashed a barrage of blows upon the metal door, each strike denting the unforgiving surface until, with one final kick.

Bang!!

It yielded to his relentless assault, flying open with a deafening crash.

Stepping out into the cool night air, Ethan's eyes scanned the surroundings, searching for a means of escape. His gaze fell upon a towering fence, its imposing height a daunting obstacle in his path.

Undeterred, Ethan leaped towards the fence, his muscles straining as he scaled its formidable barrier. With a burst of effort, he reached the summit, his fingers grazing the edge before he propelled himself over, landing with a thud on the other side.

As he dashed through the dense forest, the sound of footsteps echoed in his ears, driving him onward with renewed urgency. With each passing moment, the pursuit drew closer, pushing him to the brink of desperation.

And then, as Ethan emerged from the forest's edge, he found himself standing on the precipice of a cliff, the vast expanse of the ocean stretching out before him in all its majestic splendor.

With his pursuers closing in, Ethan made a split-second decision. Without hesitation, he cast one final glance over his shoulder before leaping into the abyss below, his body plummeting towards the churning waters below.

As Ethan plummeted towards the unforgiving embrace of the ocean below, his pursuers watched from the edge of the cliff, their expressions a mixture of shock and frustration.

With each passing second, the distance between them widened, until Ethan's figure became a mere speck against the vast expanse of the horizon.

In a defiant act of defiance, Ethan raised both arms, his middle fingers extended defiantly towards his would-be captors.

"Fuck you! HA HA HA!!" he shouted, his voice carrying through the wind as he unleashed a defiant laugh, a final act of rebellion in the face of impending uncertainty.

And then, with a resounding plop, Ethan disappeared beneath the surface of the water, swallowed by the endless depths below. His fate remained shrouded in mystery, his life and death is unknown.

Metro city

In his dimly lit office, Rick Dicker sat at his desk, surrounded by file cabinets filled with classified information. The faint hum of the city outside was disrupted by the shrill ring of his phone. Dicker reached for the receiver, knowing that an urgent call could only mean trouble.

The voice on the other end belonged to one of his colleagues, and it carried a sense of urgency that made Dicker worried. His colleague wasted no time getting to the point.

"Director Dicker, we've got an unusual situation," they began, their words hanging heavily in the air. "We've found a young boy, unconscious and injured, with two spider-like legs growing from his back. It's like something out of a science fiction story."

Dicker's brows furrowed in concern as he listened to the astonishing report. This was no ordinary case, and he could sense that it required immediate attention and investigation.

"Secure the scene immediately," he ordered, his voice carrying a sense of urgency. "And check if there are any witnesses. We need as much information as possible to make sense of this, I will go there now."

The agent acknowledged the instructions and promised to take swift action. Dicker hung up the phone, feeling the weight of the situation settle in.

Sigh~

"Looks like another super has been born huh."
