Chapter 2: 2. This is not a dream

Jane Dover's heart was beating restlessly as her husband was injured by a minor bird. But a gust of cold air cooled her eyes and she came out of the tent sadly.

"Miss Dover, why have you come out? Tell me if you have any difficulty." Morris was standing out of the tent while guarding it.

"I don't feel sleepy so I want to take a walk on the bank of the river for a while." She responded in her low voice.

"Your stroll at midnight in this jungle is not free from danger and the condition of the prince is also not good. You better go inside and sleep." He replied.

"I can't sleep." Jane Dover pouted unhappily and walked straight out of the stayfield.

"Miss Dover, please listen to me."

Morris called her but she did not stop and so he looked at a soldier standing beside him.

"Keep an eye on her."

"Okay." The soldier went behind Jane Dover and Morris sighed helplessly.

When the wind ran away after touching the innocent body of Jane Dover, a slight chill spread in her heart, but then she heard a humming sound and she looked back. Her body started feeling chill when she found that golden red butterfly sitting on the branch of the tree. Till now the night did not look so threatening, but after seeing it, the hair of Jane Dover's body stood up. Who was this creature and why was it wandering around her? It looked like a butterfly but was very big in stature. Its round and big eyes were staring at Jane Dover as if one person stares at another person.

Both of them kept looking at each other for a long time and then the bird flew and started circling the tree under which Jane Dover was standing looking at it and then all the white flowers decorated on that tree started raining on that beautiful woman. Her breath reloaded with the fragrance of those white flowers and she smiled finally. It was all strange but it all seemed so good.

The butterfly sat down on the branch again and kept looking at Jane Dover's smile as if it did it for her.

"Who are you?" She looked at the creature with her soft gaze and asked in her inferior voice.

"I don't know if you can hear me or not but I think I want to talk to you a lot." She smiled and sat on the stone sadly.

"I was born in the dungeon and spent day and night over there alone and hence could never talk to anyone. There was no one to talk to. For the first time, I have seen beautiful bottomlands and seen the scenery of nature, I can not sleep. I just want to see this world."

There was a slight smile on her pink and thin lips and when she closed her eyes and sighed deeply. She leaned back on the trunk of the tree and that butterfly did not fly away. It kept looking at that gorgeous woman who was sleeping under the tree.

Slap… Slap…

"Ahhh…"

Jane Dover stumbled on the ground weekly while holding her aching cheek.

"Morris is loyal to me and you went to sleep on the bank of the river after denying him? Despite being the wife of a prince, you do not know the custom of this position?"

Even if he was injured, he roared like a lion and Jane Dover started trembling in fear. She did not know when she fell asleep on the bank of the river but when she opened her eyes, Darius Simard was standing in front of her with Morris and some shoulders and it was already morning.

"Please forgive me." She raised her head slowly and looked at him with her tearful eyes.

"Jane Davor." He gritted his teeth angrily and held her hair in his fist. She growled in pain and held his fists.

"I dragged you out of one dungeon and will take you to another dungeon. That's why your happiness doesn't exist for long." He pushed her to the ground and turned back then looked at Morris.

"Lock her up in the chariot and reach to the Winsonland as soon as possible. I want to see her without any piece of cloth on her body."

Jane Dover closed her eyes tightly and bit her lips helplessly. How cruel the fate was! There was no point in shedding tears as she knew that she was born as a captive. When the convoy started walking through this forest, she became sad because she had come to know that now she was seeing these valleys for the last time, in whose lap she had slept peacefully yesterday.

She fell asleep while shedding tears at her bad luck and the convoy reached its destination. A desolate state where the people were starving and helpless with poverty. Where every child was a labourer and every house was troubled but the prince was far away from all these troubles. He had nothing to do with these people because his stores were full of food and gold and this state was the biggest.

The palace was very big, after seeing it, Jane Dover was astonished and when the slaves showed her her black room, she smiled sadly. Because this place was ampler but more terrible than that dungeon. Despite being the princess of this kingdom, she accepted that she would live in this dark room of the palace full of women, from which beautiful women go every night to sleep with the prince.

Jane Dover sighed and looked out of the window sadly. Ten days has passed but she had not left this dark room. When she had arrived here with Prince Darius Simard, he had left for the battle the next hour and Winsonland became noiseless. She was waiting for ten days for the day when her husband would come back and spend some moments of love with her. She clenched her fists when she recalled the words of her stepfather and realised how foolishly she was melted in this marriage! She should not act like a wife, here. She should plan his death and save herself from her cruel father whose eyes were following her every time and reminding her of the cruel thing ever.

A gust of cold wind, after entering through that window, began to play with her long thick hair, and then with the sound of heavy footsteps, a seductive scent struck her breath, as if someone had just stopped after her. Her heart started beating rapidly while thinking that her father or her husband would be the owner of those heavy footsteps. She was very afraid of the sound of those heavy steps always. When Jane Dover looked back, after pushing her anxiety down her throat, her chest began to rise and then drop rapidly. He was standing in front of her with a petite smile, dressed in his war uniform with his potent and towering body.

"Jane…" He called her name in his intense and sexy voice and stepped ahead with his perfect aura. Jane Dover held her palms in tension and her lips started trembling in front of him as she was afraid of the past bad experiences with his short and hot tantrum.

"You are back!" It was gauche to say this but she felt it wrong not to speak anything to him. He could see her awkwardness and dread well. He stepped ahead and looked at her sincerely.

"I have come back after so many days, won't you welcome me with your precious smile?"

Jane Dover widened her eyes when she realised that the way of his words was gentle and his gaze was distinct. She smiled hesitantly and blinked her eyes frequently. Darius Simard could not hold back his feelings and held her weak shoulders gently. Jane Dover trembled for a moment but when she felt warmth in his gentle touch, she looked straight into his affectionate eyes.

His charming and secretive smile…!!! His blue seductive eyes…!!

Jane Dover got spooked and stepped back quickly while placing her palm on her bouncy heart.

"No… His gaze was different. His smile was killing. The way he looked at her, Darius Simard never looked at her like this. His eyes were black, not blue. His smile was lusty, not bright.

"Who are you?" She wanted to ask him but when she saw his magical smile, she forgot what she wanted to ask and stood there like a statue. Darius Simard smiled brightly and stepped ahead then held her shoulders again gently.

"Whatever you are thinking right now, throw it out of your mind and come with me."

Jane Dover looked at her frighteningly as if she wanted to ask where he was going to bring her? Was he mad at her because she stepped back and did not welcome him finely?

"From now on, you are going to live in my bedroom, in my palace."

Jane Dover kept looking at him with her big and widened eyes. Darius Simard who had left before ten days was not the same man who had returned today. What had happened to him? Or… Was it her hallucination?

"This is not a dream." He smiled slightly, held her palm and dragged her out of the dungeon.

He sat in the cabin of his chariot in front of her and she could not take off her eyes from that dashing man until they reached the Prince Palace. It was not a dream. How could he know what she was thinking about him?
