Chapter 2: CHAPTER I

Soon realizing that I had just appeared at the only spawn point in the game, the Spawn Center. Others we're seen calling it that as they confusedly walked away.

Many people knew who their friends were because they chatted about who they were going to be and look like. But me, since I was an anti-social introvert, I went in alone and maybe it was for the best.

I glanced over to my left and right seeing all types of unique characters. Though no one could be anyone from movies because of overpowered issues. That didn't bother me one bit. Frankly leveling up was the only solution to that problem.

I would notice people pressing against their chest causing a blue 3D hologram screen in front of them, showing them their entire inventory and their characters stats.

After looking at my own stats, I closed the screen and ran forward heading up the grassy mountain and looked out to the vast open lands that awaited me. Excitement rushed through me!

All I could say to myself is "Whoa.." as my eyes don't know where to look first. Before you know it, a massive hologram screen appeared in front of all of us. It's the creator's own character, wearing a mysterious black hooded robe who happens to be older in age.

Everyone curiously stared up at the large talking hologram who says "Welcome to The Spire! You're now part of the game itself so try not to get yourself killed. Anyways! Hope you enjoy the amazing world I've created for you."

"You're given a second chance at life, use it wisely." he would say before disappearing into thin air.

It wasn't very long after that speech most people walked and ran away into the distance, going on their own journeys. To figure out their new lives in this world.

Something wasn't right though, his speech was too short and kept us with more questions than answers. There was more to it. The creator must've been hiding secrets within this world.

Games always have some sort of hidden items that can give you an advantage against others. Surely this one had to have some too.

A life-threatening game like this, I would need an edge to heavily rely on against others in order to survive and thrive in this unforgiving world. So I began thinking hard, realizing what I'll need to do first is to defeat enemy NPC's to gain armor and weapons before even thinking about looking for any secrets.

I followed a small group of people over to the first boss in the game where you can see tons of their characters getting smacked around easily by an non-player controlled enemy orc. Players just kept coming back at him every chance they got and some of them even dying because of him. Their dead bodies slowly vanishing away into thin air after their player's health hit the lowest point.

Two people would rush over up next to me without seeing me, I just watched them as they strategically call-out to each other, one being a magical winged fairy while the other is a larger muscular man with a beautifully crafted axe.

I just stood there in amazement as they effortlessly teamed up together like they've done this countless times before. But really it was everyone's first time.

The winged fairy would cast a magical spell on herself that slowly heals her character while she flaps her wings in one place, resting for a moment as her friend takes a big swing with his axe at the boss.

Galanore's harsh swinging attack was blocked by the boss right on time. I finally came to my senses after Cassiel, the fairy was yelling to me for help. "Hey you! Help us out yeah? He's distracted time to attack!"

I would snap out of it and reacted to the call for help, thinking of this as just some friendly game to calm my nerves so I ran toward the intimidating enemy and leaping upwards at him, landing harshly on top of the axe pushing all of its weight onto him, causing the axe to pierce into the enemy's chest before doing a backflip, quickly kicking the chin of the boss with all my strength causing him to fall backwards a short distance away.

It felt like slow motion but it all actually happened so fast. I didn't even realize he was dead until landing on my feet and looking over to see everyone loudly cheering for our group of three people.

It was nice to be respected and honored for once, knowing this didn't happen much for me in real life.

Just happened to look over at Cassiel who was drinking what looked like a small health potion out of a jar. This gave her all her health back that was taken away from her earlier. She seemed like she was getting the hang of this rather quickly.

Galanore smirked at me before telling me that, "We go on quests together! There's plenty of enemies we can defeat together as a team. It's easier that way anyways." I glanced at Cassiel as she replies, "I mean we could use the help" she shrugged nonchalantly. I would laugh and say in return, "Of course guys!! I'm all in for

this idea. So where we headed off to first?"
