Chapter 43: Chapter 43: The Proposal.

Aden as usual sat on his last seat keeping his gaze on Alaia. Alaia was so irritated by his behaviour that she couldn't even focus on her studies properly.

After the lecture was done, Alaia stopped Aden on his way. "Now that you know who I am then why the fuck do you keep staring at me?", she yelled at him. Aden gave her his innocent look as if he did nothing.

"Wow. Just wow. You really have the audacity to give me your 'I'm innocent' looks. Like seriously? Who do you think you are?", she glared at him. Aden simply stood there like a statue observing her.

Alaia was so annoyed by the guy that she almost lost her cool and exposed herself. She took some deep breaths in and calmed herself. Just when she turned and was about to leave he spoke.

"I'm your Vice President", Aden spoke. Alaia turned to him and nodded. "Right, you are my boss but not here. You are just a classmate here. I'm not an actress in the school and you are not some boss", she said rolling her eyes at him.

Aden nodded. "I want to be friends with you", he said calmly. "And why is that?", she asked in a sharp tone. "Just because I want to be friends", he shrugged casually. She forced a smile on her face and showed him her middle finger.

"Fuck you, Adie", she turned and left. A faint smile appeared on Aden's face when he heard her call him by the old nickname. He liked hearing that name and he missed it a lot for some odd reason.

"Hey, A.K. What are you doing here?", Steve asked when he passed by Aden who was standing like a fool staring at Alaia. "Nothing. Let's go for the next class", Aden said and headed to the next class.

Alaia was sitting at the back as usual. Today she was wearing a full sleeve casual bodycon dress that ended above her knees and white sneakers. To hide her face, she wore a baseball cap and her glasses. Her hairs falling on her back.

Aden laughed when she started covering her face upon his arrival in the class. "Where are you going, bro?", Steve asked noticing Aden wasn't going with him. "I want to sit somewhere else. You guys go", Aden said and walked away from everyone.

Since Aden always behaved like this whenever he came to the university, no one thought it was unusual. Aden started walking towards Alaia while she was engrossed in hiding herself from him.

When she removed the book from her face, she looked around but couldn't find him. Suddenly, she felt someone pat her shoulder. She turned and was shocked to see Aden standing behind her.

"What the fuck? Why are you here? Hey... what are you doing? Why are you sitting here? Get away. No. No. Don't come near. Go away", she started pushing him but to no avail. He was told strong for her.

"Listen, let me sit here quietly or I can make the entire class watch a show of their favourite actress. And trust me, babe, nobody here would mind me doing anything to you", he said while arching his brows.

She shook her head and sat quietly. 'I would have killed you if you were not my boss and we weren't in the university. You annoying jerk. Who do you think you are? Oh, sorry. You are my boss.' She talked to herself and face palmed.

Aden looked at her and smiled in amusement. She was too cute for her own good. As the lecture started, Aden was more interested in staring at the girl next to him rather than focusing on the teacher.

Alaia was hell annoyed by his behaviour. "See, if you want to be my friend then okay. We can be friends but stop staring at me like that. You look weird. Like really weird. So just stop."

Aden nodded. "Can you at least speak a little? You are still as arrogant as earlier. No change. Tsk", she pressed her lips together and shook her head looking at his face.

Aden chuckled. "Look at your elder brother. He is so sweet. I really like him and admire him. He is such a loving husband. I wish I get someone just like him", she said daydreaming about her future husband who would be like Xavier.

"He is married so stop thinking about him. No use", Aden said coldly. "Yeah, right", she sighed.

Aden frowned hearing her words. "I'm also the same as him", he said to her. Alaia pressed her lips together controlling her laughter but miserably failed and started laughing hard pointing her finger at him to which his scowl deepened.

"You and sweet like your brother? Haha... are you kidding? You just know how to be arrogant. Romance is not your cup of tea. The girl who will marry you would have to deal with your mood swings and tantrums. I feel bad for her", she said giving a pitiful look for the girl.

"You shouldn't pity yourself", he said and stood up to leave. Alaia gave a confused look at his words but before she could say anything, he already left her confused by herself.

Aden was in a bad mood today when he returned home but when he saw Daisy and others at him, his mood was a little lifted. He wondered why everyone have gather at the family house today and why his mother called them all today so suddenly.

"Okay, everyone. It was me who called everyone here today so urgently", Nick said standing up from his place. Daisy was curious to know why he all of a sudden called everyone together. Xavier kept his eyes only on his little babygirl ignoring everyone else.

"So, I proposed the love of my life, Crystal a couple days back and she said yes to me. I just wanted to ask for everyone's approval for our wedding since she wants it from the bottom of her heart", Nick said smiling at Crystal.

Daisy glanced at Crystal who was smiling back at Nick. "The wedding is next week", Mrs. Knight said happily. Daisy squealed in excitement and stood up. "So that means you all approve?", Crystal asked in a surprised tone.

"Of course, sweetie. Now I will have two daughters", Mrs. Knight said happily and hugged Crystal. Xavier glanced at his grandfather and father silently and then at Daisy who was happily hugging Crystal.

Aden sighed deeply and slumped on the sofa alone. Nick and Xavier noticed their brother and exchanged a look.

Aden kept thinking about Alaia. He for some reason wanted to get close to her. He was aware that he still felt something for her so he wanted to court her but had no idea how he would do that.

His eldest brother got married all of a sudden but ended up finding his true love while his other brother found love in office. Both of his brothers got their loves faster and much easily than him.

The girl he wanted hates him for no reason. Or maybe doesn't hates him. He is not even aware how she feels for him. He really wants to know what she is thinking right now and how she feels towards him.

At the dining table during dinner, Xavier spoke, "Aren't you masters already over, Aden? You attend your university a lot now instead of going to the company. Are you lagging in your studies or something?"

"No, brother. It's just my exams are near so I have to study more, that's all", Aden said and went silent again. "My best friend is in the same university as you. I wonder if you know her. Her name is Alaia from management department", Crystal said to Aden.

"She is in my class. Is she your best friend, sister in law?", Aden said with sparkly eyes to which Crystal gave a nod. "Great", his face brightened up. Everyone glanced at each other looking at his sudden change of mood.
