Chapter 8: Profound ambitions

As Freya disappeared from view, Victor started to make his way out of the cave.

Images of Freya's partially unclothed form involuntarily surfaced in his mind, stirring a strange flutter in his chest. He swiftly quelled the burgeoning feelings, reminding himself of the perilous consequences of coveting Alex's girlfriend.

Heaving a sigh, he murmured to himself, "I need to forget about it. Besides, I already have a girlfriend."

Memories of his classmate, his own girlfriend, floated into his mind. Her beauty was unparalleled in their school, a radiant gem among pebbles.

As Victor emerged from the cave, he found himself drenched in a torrential downpour. He stood motionless, eyes shut tight as he concentrated.

A shroud of dark-purple aura enveloped him, causing the ground beneath his feet to tremble ever so slightly.

As he opened his eyes, his pupils had morphed into a deep, menacing dark-purple, their sharp gaze reminiscent of a finely honed blade.

He slowly extended his left hand and, as if responding to an unseen force, a handful of stones levitated from the ground, bathed in the same dark purple energy.

His hand wavered under the strain, the energy felt like a continuous, relentless drain on his vitality. Despite his best efforts, the weight of the stones began to feel unbearable.

"Cough!"

With a sharp cough, he spat out blood. The dark-purple energy dissipated as swiftly as it had appeared.

Victor crumpled to the wet earth, his face pallid and blood staining the corners of his mouth.

"I knew it. This power needs training," he wheezed, his breath ragged and uneven.

The power he had just attempted to harness was gravity manipulation, a skill acquired from the formidable wolf he had vanquished.

He understood that he had a steep learning curve ahead of him, but his determination to master it before his graduation and subsequent enrollment at Leyndell Academy, one of the top ten academies in the England Empire, remained unyielding.

Slowly picking himself up and regaining his breath, he etched the sensation of the levitating stones, the draining energy, and his struggle to control them, deep into his memory.

With a flick of his finger, an ethereal stallion materialized before him. Its mane and tail seemed to dance in the pouring rain, shimmering with an otherworldly light.

Taking a deep, steadying breath, Victor mounted the energy-formed stallion. With a swift nod, the stallion galloped off, leaving behind the cave that had served as a shelter in a memory.

*********

As the rain gradually petered out, Victor found himself standing before the imposing facade of a grand, ornate mansion.

His eyes traced the familiar contours of the building, his heart weighed down with the knowledge that it was an inheritance from his late parents. The mansion had been his solitary abode for the last five years.

Despite having an older brother, the onus of looking after the house had fallen upon Victor, his sibling's visits being few and far between.

With a deep breath, Victor pushed open the heavy door, stepping into an interior that radiated opulence. The walls, a pristine white, bore witness to a lavish lifestyle, furnished with exquisite taste.

The affluence of his parents was evident in the array of luxury cars and other high-value assets they had left behind, now entrusted to Victor.

For at least the next two decades, he wouldn't have to worry about basic necessities.

Letting out a weary sigh, he murmured, "Even though I've transmigrated, the powerful emotions tethered to this body and this house are palpable."

He stood still for a moment, soaking in the silent echoes of the house before he ventured towards the bathroom.

**********

Emerging from the bathroom, Victor found himself staring at his reflection in the mirror, a sense of satisfaction washing over him.

He ran his hand over his chin and flashed a smile, "Not too shabby. Handsome and well-built."

It was then that he fully took in his appearance. Despite his transmigration, he was still strikingly handsome.

His blond hair, just the right length, framed a symmetrical face that emanated calm. His physique was commendable, with toned muscles on his arms and a defined six-pack.

"With looks like these, women won't be a problem," he said, a smug grin gracing his features.

Clad in fresh clothes and seated in the living room, Victor's attention was fixed on a holographic projection before him.

The system interface was intricate, but it meticulously detailed his body's capabilities and attributes.

As he perused through the hologram, Victor stroked his chin thoughtfully. Despite the system's complexity, he couldn't help but appreciate its thoroughness.

Dismissing the hologram, he leaned back, his mind churning with possibilities and strategies for his new life as Victor Redfield.

Since his transmigration, he had already acquired some significant advantages, including the divine stealing system, gravity manipulation abilities, and the Durandal sword gifted by Freya.

"I've decided," Victor declared, a tone of ambition lacing his voice. "Enter the academy, grow stronger, and ascend to my rightful place as the ruler of this world."

His grin widened, his eyes sparkling with a relentless, dark determination as he made his proclamation.
