Chapter 5: Tython!
This is the longest Chapter I will ever write. A whopping ten thousand plus words. Enjoy.
I shifted through the cabinet and took the things I could make use of, the kolto packs, the stims and the rations.
"Blast those council meetings." I heard Master Orgus say. I turned around and saw the man walking into the room and he seemed a little fatigued.
" That bad huh?" I asked.
" I'd die of old age before my colleagues ran out of things to say." Orgus replied.
" i know how that feels. I'd rather do something about problems than talk about them. But hey sometimes talking things out works too." I told the man.
" Exactly. Well said Skywalker." Orgus replied. " This situation is coming fast. And you're braving dangers many Jedi have never faced. I wouldn't blame you for having questions. This may be the only time you have to ask them."
" I don't have any questions right now. I just want to find out who it is trying to destroy us this time." I told the man.
" Completely understandable, Skywalker." Orgus replied.
" Jacen. You're my master, so just call me Jacen. It feels more natural." I told the man as I did hate the sound of my last name.
" Well, Jacen. I think I know who could help. There's a group of Twi'lek Pilgrims on Tython. They've been fighting the flesh raiders for months." Orgus explained. " The republic asked us to deny those Twi'leks aid-- They settled here illegally. but frankly we need them."
" Why is it Illegal? I mean aren't we supposed to help everyone? So, why haven't we been helping the Twi'leks?" i asked. I would have figured the republic would provide aid to all of its people.
" When Tython was first rediscovered the Twi'leks petitioned the senate to settle here. They were denied, the planet was deemed too dangerous. But they came anyway." Orgus explained. " The Twi'leks have a settlement in the mountains. That's your next stop. Establish a base camp and speak to the matriarch. Find out what the Twi'leks know about the Flesh Raiders."
" I'm on it master." I replied.
" I'll join you soon. May the force be with you." Orgus said to me. he then turned and walked out of the room.
I didn't want to waste time so, I began my journey towards the village immediately. It wasn't too far from the temple, but it was nothing short of a three-hour walk, and maybe a twenty-minute speeder bike ride. But nevertheless, I soon found way to Kalikori village and to say the tension was thick would be an understatement.
As I looked around, I could see the villagers were staring at me. I ignored the gazes and quickly made my way to the matriarch's home. Once inside I was met by the matriarch and her daughter along with a few other twi'lek. The Matriarch had this aura about her that screamed authority, the way she dressed and the way she moved made her accentuated her position even more and her daughter. She was just as beautiful as her mother was. She seemed timid and kind of shy and her eyes were stunning.
" Greetings Matriarch, I was sent by master Orgus Din to help you fight the Flesh Raiders." I told the woman.
The matriarch stepped forward and from her body language I could tell she wasn't too pleased to see me.
" So, the Jedi finally deign to recognize my people's suffering? How noble. Nothing to do with the attack on your training grounds, I'm sure." Matriarch Sumari spoke.
" Matriarch Sumari, I won't lie. It does. And although I might not speak for all of my people, do know that I am sorry for all that your people have suffered. I can't offer much in apology. But I can make a deal. Help me and I will help you as best I can." I explained to the woman.
" You speak well young man. Very well. My scouts have tracked the flesh raiders for months. Watched them grow in strength. I will share what we've discovered. But only if you agree to protect my people." The Matriarch asked. " We... We suffer." The Matriarch started to shift, she stumbled slightly and seemed as if she was about to fall over.
" Mother, you need rest. Let me carry this burden for you." Ranna asked her mother.
" Is the matriarch, okay? Does she need assistance?" I asked. I could feel the concern from the daughter growing more and more with each passing second.
" Thank you for your concern, Jedi, but I am fine. Allow me to introduce to you my daughter Ranna Tao Ven. She and Scout Chief Moonrint will speak for me. I must attend to... Other matters." Matriarch Sumari explained.
I watched as she weakly lumbered away and knew that something was extremely wrong with the matriarch.
" Matriarch Sumari, please if you need help then I'm sure our healers can help you." I told the woman.
" I am fine Jedi, just please help my people." Sumari asked. I nodded at Sumari and then watched sadly as the woman stumbled away.
After the Matriarch had left Moonrint finally spoke. " Personally, I don't care why you've come- As long as you destroy the Flesh Raiders. Ever since they got their new weapons and gear, they hunt us like animals. The enemy has a camp in the valley nearby. My Scouts say the Flesh raiders store their weapons and other tech in a cave." Moonrint explained.
" Removing those weapons could sabotage the Flesh Raiders." I spoke.
" We need to strike fear in the Flesh Raiders. Sabotage their weapons. Fix them so they blow up in their ugly faces." Moonrint stated.
" How would we do that?" Ranna asked.
" Their technology is standard republic design. We could overload the power circuits and plasma cells." Moonrint explained. " Here I'll show you." Moonrint pulled out a republic standard blaster rifle and showed me exactly how to overload the power cells. After a brief explanation he then went on to explain his plan more. " Sabotage would thin the Flesh Raiders numbers and eliminate their technological advantage."
" If you brought us that technology, we could defend ourselves with those weapons." Ranna exclaimed.
" This village is vulnerable to attack; you do need better defenses. With those weapons you could better protect yourselves without the Jedi's help." I spoke.
" This debate is pointless unless you can get inside that cave. You'll need one of the leaders access keys." Moonrint explained.
" Find the flesh raider technology and do what you think is best. Good luck, Jedi." Ranna told me. She seemed very nice. And She had a very beautiful voice. I looked forward to seeing her again.
But now's not the time for sentimentality. I quickly depart from the Matriarchs home and head further into the mountains.
I stop along the way to observe the beauty of Tython.
" This forest is so beautiful. Tython is more beautiful than I could have ever imagined. I wish I had more time to actually stop and take it all in." I spoke, I reached up and rubbed the bark on one of the biggest trees in that I'd seen in the forest. " But right now, more important things are at stake." I took one last look at the beautiful lush green trees and kept on moving up the mountain. I dispatched the Flesh Raiders along the way, so that the way back would be less treacherous and eventually I found my target, a Flesh Raider bigger than the others, his skin was a darker color, and he was wearing larger armor. ' I'll need to be careful with this one. He appears to be stronger than the normal flesh raiders. He's down in the trench. A quick strike from above would be the most efficient way to take him out.'
I crept along the mountain path just above the master and once I was close enough to the beast, I leapt off the edge and plummeted towards him with my vibro-blade pointed down and I drove it into his thick skull, killing it instantly. " Work smarter not harder am I right." I jested. I searched the Flesh Raiders body and found what I was searching for. " Alright, now that I have the key it's time to hit that weapons cache." I walked further up the mountain, however, with the day coming to an end I set up camp in a tree to hide myself from the aggressive natives.
" What hectic first day. Such a shame I couldn't spend more time enjoying the sights. Wish I could have gotten actual food too." I complained I took another bite from my rations and felt my stomach churn. " Jesus these things taste like garbage, but I need to keep my strength up." I quickly finished the ration bar and then leaned back to rest."
After night's rest, I awoke in the morning and quickly resumed my journey into the mountain. Once up I entered a cave much different from the one the Flesh raiders were entering from. This one was more elaborate and carved out. It was also filled with the bones and remains of animals and most definitely people that the Flesh Raiders had eaten. The security around the cache was just as heavy as it was around the last cave, but the Flesh Raiders simply weren't much of a problem to deal with.
" This is getting too easy." I stated as I wiped my blade clean of the blood. I then walked up to the gate in the cave and used the key I obtained from the master and opened it. Inside I found a storage unit full of weapons and called the Matriarch's daughter to inform her that the path was clear, and the weapons were theirs. I then made my way to leave, but before I could I heard a droid suddenly come to life.
" Whoa!" I stumbled back and drew my blade, but when I looked down a feeling of relief and happiness washed over me.
" T7? Buddy? Is that you T7?" I asked as i approached the droid.
" T7= Padawan Jacen's friend." T7 replied
It is you. Buddy, I missed you." I leaned down and hugged the droid with tears in my eyes. " Buddy, I thought you were destroyed on Coruscant. What are you doing here?" I asked.
" T7= Jedi Reconnaissance droid// Survived fall into Temple// Recovered by jedi// Mission parameters= Scout wilderness." T7 explained.
" That's amazing T7. But why are you here? How did the flesh raiders catch you?" I asked.
" T7's restraining bolt= Faulty+ Malfunctioning// T7's sensors = Unable to detect Flesh Raider ambush." T7 explained.
" Restraining bolt? Let's get that mess off immediately. Come here buddy." T7 Rolled towards me and I reached down and removed his restraining bolt. " There we go. No friend of mine is going to be restrained like that ever again."
" T7= Thanks Jedi friend// T7= misses you very much." T7 thanked me gratefully.
" I've missed you too buddy. More than you could ever know." I told the droid as I hugged him. " So, did you find anything important T7?" I asked.
" T7= Simulated deactivation+ used spy camera// T7 = recorded Flesh Raider allies." T7 replied.
" You did? good job buddy. Can you show me?" I asked.
T7 beeped and played back the recording for me.
" Teach our soldiers how to use these weapons. Train them on the Twi'lek invaders." The hooded figure ordered.
" When will we strike against the Jedi?" Callef asked.
" Patience Callef. The jedi will fall when our army reaches full strength." The hooded figure spoke. And then the playback ended.
" Damn, so there's another. That was very useful T7. Come on, we need to get back to Matriarch Sumari." T7 and I quickly made our way back to the Twi'lek village, with the information he found we might be able to figure out who behind all this mess.
When we arrived there seemed to be some kind of meeting going on.
" She died in my arms! You should have seen what those filth did to her." Saylew shouted.
" I'm sorry, Saylew. We all share your loss." Ranna told the man.
" For every one of us the Flesh Raiders butcher we should kill ten no, no a hundred!" Saylew shouted.
" Would that bring your loved one back?" Master Orgus asked.
" Don't lecture me, Jedi. My wife is dead! Our people, slaughtered! Where were you then?" Saylew screamed.
" Nothing we can say can bring your loved one back. But know that we are sorry." I told the man.
" And what about exterminating those animals?" Saylew asked.
" We are doing the best we can, hopefully with the weapons you now have the chance to better protect yourselves." I told the man.
Saylew Grunted and walked away in anger.
" People wonder why Jedi are forbidden to marry or have families. They don't see how attachments always lead to suffering. Passionate emotions can destroy a person-- and Jedi destroyed by passion become something terrible." Master Orgus explained.
" I don't know about that master." I replied.
" What do you mean?" Orgus asked.
" I mean, look at our history. Some of our greatest knights and masters have had attachments and families. I mean look at Darth Revan and Bastila Shan. Or how about one of our previous grand masters Nomi Sunrider. All of them were great masters in their own right. It just seems to me that our greatest and most powerful members were those who didn't follow that aspect of the code." I explained to the man.
" An interesting thought, one I must say I haven't heard before. But remember Padawan even the great Bastila was led to the dark side by her attachments." Master Orgus explained.
" Maybe you're right. It's just something to think about. But for now, we have more pressing matters. T7." I spoke.
" T7= Salutes Master Orgus// T7 Reconnaissance report = Ready for delivery." T7 Explained.
" I found T7 in the Flesh Raiders cave." I told the man.
" He was Ven Zallows droid. I must say it has been a while old friend. While I deal with the droid you talk with Ranna. I think her people are finally ready to help us. Thanks to you." Orgus told me.
" You got it master." I replied.
Master Orgus nodded and then took T7 away, while I made my way over to Ranna who was still in the room.
" With the weapons you have brought us, my people can defend themselves. You risked your life to help us. My people haven't had a champion for some time." Ranna told me.
" I'll be your champion whenever you need one." I told the girl.
Ranna seemed to get visibly flustered from my harmless flirting.
" Oh, I... ah, should give you the information you requested." Ranna replied then turned towards the other man in the room. " Moorint, report."
Moorint walked over to us and began his report. " Scouts report that the Flesh Raider forces are gathering in strength. they already control the mountains around us, and now they're invading the ruins of kaleth. My men spotted them at the remains of an ancient shrine-- close to your jedi temple." Moorint explained.
Master Orgus walked back into the room and joined in on the conversation. " Kaleth was a great city of force users. Its ruins hold powers we still don't understand." Orgus explained.
" Flesh Raiders are looking for something there." Moorint stated.
" We can't let them find it. Drive back those Flesh Raiders immediately. I have to take this droid back to the council." Orgus ordered. " That hooded figure in the holo-- I know his voice. The situation is worse than I thought." Orgus explained. " Do whatever it takes to push the Flesh Raiders out of Kaleth. I'll send you whatever reinforcements as soon as possible." Orgus explained.
" You got it, master. But I'm pretty sure I can handle it myself." I replied confidently.
" If you see that hooded figure from the holo, do not engage him. Now get going." Master Orgus added on.
I nodded and quickly left the building. I rushed to the nearest Taxi Station and rented a Speeder bike out. ' I don't have time to waste on this, so I need to move quickly.
I hopped on the bike and took off through the forest. It was about a ten-minute drive. Once I was close to kaleth, I landed the Speeder near the ruins where the Jedi had a forward camp set up. I ran from the forward camp to the Ruins as fast as I could, but when I arrived, I didn't see any flesh raiders. Instead, all that I saw were droids. I searched the front grounds for any signs of the Flesh Raiders but there were none. So, I ventured further into the valley and eventually I came to a cave.
" What is it with these creatures and caves? I guarantee that when I walk in, I'm going to find these damn flesh raiders." I complained. I drew my vibro-blade and began making my way into the tunnel. I made my way through the tunnel and surprisingly I found no flesh raider.
" Well, that was a decent surprise, I thought for sure there'd be at least a few in the cave. But something tells me I'm not alone out here." I looked around and saw nothing, but I could feel it. Something dark is nearby. I stalked forward through the grassy plains, keeping my guard up every second until I came across a group of Flesh Raiders scavenging around an old statue.
When the biggest creature looked at me, he grinned. " Jeehd-ay...." He hissed.
My eyes went wide upon hearing the creature speak. " You can speak? Good then understand this if you go peacefully, I won't hurt you. Fight me and I'll cut you down." I told the beast.
It grinned and thrust its hands out and hit me with a force blast that knocked me down.
I quickly kipped back up and stood ready to fight. " Okay, that's a first." I looked around and noticed that more of the Flesh Raiders were coming and knew the fight had started
" Kill Jeehd-ay." The beast ordered.
The Flesh Raiders drew their blades, and all attacked me. I parried the first strike against me and cut the first Raider across his stomach, I then parried the next two who tried to sandwich me and struck one of the beasts in his arms, forcing him to drop the blade, I quickly spun around, and in the process deflected another one of the flesh raiders strikes, and then decapitated the armless flesh raider. Leaving only the chieftain behind. The chieftain tried to swing his blade into my side, but I parried the beast and lopped off its arm. I then quickly beheaded the beast, ending the fight.
Once the fight was over, I put my blade away and started searching the beasts for any clues on what they were looking for. While I did so, I felt two force users quickly approaching, they were Master Kiwiks and her Padawan Kira.
" Master Orgus sent us We came as quickly as we could." Master Kiwiks spoke.
" i wish you would've gotten here quicker, because I'm having a hard time understanding what just happened." I spoke.
" What is it?" Kiwiks asked.
" One of the flesh raiders just used the force and it could speak. it called me jedi." i told the woman.
" That is troubling. If the Flesh raiders are learning the ways of the force, it won't be the light side." Kiwiks spoke and I nodded.
Kira on the other hand seemed more interested in what had happened to the flesh raiders than anything else. " You sure made short work of this bunch. You ever leave survivors?" Kira asked.
" They left me no choice." I told the girl.
" I didn't mean anything. Sorry mouth gets ahead of my brain sometimes." Kira replied nervously.
" Did you find anything?" Kiwiks spoke up and asked as she observed the Flesh Raiders bodies.
" Yes." I replied. I reached into my pocket and pulled out a holocron. " One of the Flesh raiders had a holocron." I explained to the woman.
" This holocron is a repository of knowledge created by a force user, thousands of years old from the looks of it." Master Kiwiks explained. " Master Orgus was right, these natives are more advanced than we realized. They're learning how to fight us."
" Master Orgus thinks he knows who's behind it." I told the woman.
" I gathered as much. But he had no time to explain before sending us here." Kiwiks replied. " I wish we could see this through- But Master Satele has ordered us to Coruscant on a special mission." Kiwiks explained.
" All those bad feelings the council's been having? She thinks the republic capital is the source." Kira added on.
" I'm sorry to leave you, but the danger has passed. These surveillance monitors will keep watch on Kaleth." Master Kiwiks explained. She set up a couple devices in the area and then handed me the rest. " Place them around the ruins. the temple can then monitor any future incursions by our enemies." Master Kiwiks explained.
" Heh! Then maybe we'll get lucky and find out who's behind all this. Wishful thinking at least." I told the woman. " I can handle things here. You two very beautiful ladies have a safe trip to coruscant. And may the force be with you." I joked.
Kira scoffed and master Kiwiks simply nodded her head. She and Kira then turned and quickly departed from the ruins, leaving me behind to finish placing the monitors.
After about an hour of planting the devices, I finally began making my way back to the forward camp for my speeder. Along the way, i got a holocall from master Orgus.
" Go ahead master." i told the man as I answered the device.
" I'm on my way back to the twi'lek settlement. Meet me there." Orgus exclaimed. he seemed as if he had seen a ghost and was in a hurry.
" You didn't explain what was going on. Is everything alright, master?" I asked.
" I'll explain when I see you. Find me at the matriarchs compound. Orgus out." orgus then hung u the call.
I ran as fast as I could the settlement. It was only a few short meters ahead of me, so I sprinted. When I got there, I hoped on my Speeder and took off towards the settlement. I was driving Hap hazardously this time, so I ended up turning the ten-minute trip into a five-minute trip. When I arrived back at the Village I returned the speeder to the vendor and ran to the Matriarchs house.
" Master! I'm here!" I shouted as I ran into the room. I saw Master Orgus tampering with t7's units.
" Calm down, padawan everything is fine for now." master Orgus told me. " Master Kiwiks told me about what you saw in kaleth. A Flesh Raider who used the force. She thought he was learning things from an old holocron. I wish that were true. The man who attacked you when you first arrived? his lightsaber had a familiar aspect. This droid holorecording confirmed my suspicions." Master Orgus explained.
" T7 = sorry for bringing bad news." T7 stated as he hung his head.
" The hooded figure is named Bengel Morr. he was my padawan-- But he never completed his training. Like you, Bengel was in the jedi temple on Coruscant when the Sith destroyed it." Master Orgus explained.
" Oh, no." I knew immediately what it was Bengel was feeling. As I too suffered the same fate. " The force was with him if he managed to get out. I remember what it was like, hundreds of my brothers and sisters died that day. We never recovered the bodies. I know what it is like to survive something like that. I guess, Bengel just couldn't handle it himself. Even Ava'dara hasn't been the same since that day." I spoke.
" Yes, it was one of the darkest days in our history. Bengel was strong in the force and the gentlest being I'd ever known. for him to turn against the jedi..." Master Orgus exclaimed. He furrowed his brows and sighed. " He has to be stopped."
I nodded and noticed that Ranna had wandered over to us. " Apologies for keeping you waiting. Our people's Matriarch... My mother-- is dying." Ranna explained.
I could both see and feel the pain in her face and in her voice. Her eyes were red, most likely from crying. I couldn't help but feel bad for the girl.
" I'm so sorry, Ranna. You should be at her side." I told the girl.
" You're kind... But my mother wants me here." Ranna replied. " My scouts have identified a Flesh Raider command base in the mountains. It's protected by an energy shield. The shield's power generator is hidden on a different mountain, in a well-guarded cave network." Ranna explained.
" That command base is probably coordinating all the attacks in the region. I need to get inside there." Orgus exclaimed.
" Alright then. You handle the command base and I'll get the power generator. A two pronged attack." I told Master Orgus.
" Smart move." Orgus replied.
T7 then spoke up. " Important secondary mission = Preform high-level scan of enemy forces// mountains paths = too dangerous for T7." the droid explained.
" Hm, see if you can give the droid an opening to gather more intelligence." Master Orgus spoke.
" T7 = Give Jedi head start// Follow when path is clear." T7 explained.
" Alright, little buddy. Sounds like a plan." I told T7
" That energy shield is your top priority. Knock it out as fast as you can." Orgus spoke.
" I'm on it." I turned and left the room and headed back out to the mountain path. " The scouting reports indicate that the shield generator isn't too far into the mountain, so it shouldn't take me too long to find it."
After a long trek up the mountain, I found the location of the shield generator.
" Another Blasted Cave! What is with the caves?!" I asked. I ventured into the cave cutting down the Beasts within and eventually came to my prize. " Thank god this is over." I walked up to the computer and shut down the field generator. Just as I did a holocall came through.
" Hm, you must be the padawan slaughtering all of my soldiers." The man spoke.
" And you must be Bengel Morr. I have to say you're soldiers aren't very impressive." I taunted the man.
" Your misguided attacks mean nothing. Your time is over." Bengel replied.
" Misguided? Bengel you think you were the only one that survived the attack on the temple? I was there too, my master died in that battle. Many of our peers died in that battle." I told the man.
" If you were there then you should be just as outraged as I am!" Bengel replied." The treaty we signed with those animals does nothing but disgrace all of those who died that day. well, now I'm doing something about it. If the Jedi don't want to take action, I will. And I won't let anyone stop me. not you, Not Orgus, Not the council, no one!" Bengel shouted. " I hope you've enjoyed this victory; it will be your last." Bengel exclaimed before ending the call.
" Blast it all, I need to return to the village." I quickly left the cave and made my way back down the mountain, thankfully just in time as the sun was beginning to set.
When I arrived at the matriarch's place, I saw Ranna rubbing her eyes.
" Ranna?" i called out to the woman and drew her attention.
" Jedi, you're back." Ranna replied.
' Please, call me Jacen." i told the girl.
Ranna nodded and walked up to me.
" How was your mission?" Ranna asked.
" I managed to destroy the Shield Generator. Did my Master report in?" i asked.
" No. My mother she... She found peace in your absence. I'm now matriarch." Ranna explained.
I felt my heart sink into my stomach upon hearing Of Matriarch Sumari's death. I reached out and placed my hand softly on Ranna's cheek drawing her gaze to my eyes. " I am so sorry for your loss, Ranna. Just know that you don't have to go through this alone." I told the girl.
Ranna grabbed my hand and squeezed it. " People who say Jedi have no feelings are wrong. Before he left, Master Orgus told me that there is no death. There is the force. He believes our essence lives on when we die and merges with the force. I hope that's true." Ranna spoke.
Ranna then went quiet, and I could feel her sadness radiating off of her, but before I could speak a word one of the twi'leks from the village ran into the room.
" Matriarch! Flesh Raiders broke through our defenses. They did something to our crop fields! They dropped strange machines in the soil. When a scout approached one, he collapsed with sickness. He crawled away from the device and began to recover, but there are many more machines still out there." Eseni explained.
" Get your people away from the crop fields. I'll handle the machines and the Flesh Raiders." I heard Ranna try to tell me something, but I was too focused on completing the mission. I ran out of the room and out towards the crop fields as fast as i could. The moment I stepped foot into the fields I felt an immediate pain seep into my body as if I had been breathing a toxin. I stumbled backwards and clutched my chest.
' Calm down. Focus. I need to draw in the force and keep my energy stable.' I took a deep breath of fresh air and used the force to funnel out the toxins in my body. I then reentered the field started destroying the machines that had been releasing the strange smoke. Each one I approached seemed to release a stronger portion of the toxin, but thankfully I was able to use the force to keep the poison in the air and disperse it away from the village and its fields. After smashing the last device, three Flesh Raiders appeared from the ground and attacked me.
I took the first one out by deflecting one of his blaster bolts back at his head, I then jumped into the air over the one closest to me and drove my sword into its back before pulling it out and throwing it at the last one, before it could reach me. I walked up to the beast and pulled my blade from its head and sheathed it. When I looked up all of the villagers had been cheering. I waved at the villagers and walked over to the woman who had reported the problem.
" I've destroyed the machines and I've purged the toxin from the crops they should all be fine. But check them just to make sure." I told the woman.
" Thank you. Thank you very much. Our matriarch wishes to speak with you now." The woman replied she hugged me and then ran to the fields.
Having completed the mission I quickly returned To Ranna's base.
" I've destroyed the machines poisoning your crops." I told the woman.
" I saw how you suffered out there. What you did... It was brave. it was heroic. Since you've came here all you've done is risk your life to save us. Why would you face death again and again for people you barely know?" Ranna asked.
" I did it for you, Ranna. As crazy as it might sound, I did it to see you happy. You're worth the risk." I told the girl and I honestly meant it.
" Me? But... You barely know me." Ranna replied.
" You're strong, capable, kind, a good person, very beautiful. What else should I know?" I asked as I approached her.

" Glad to hear it. I've taken care of my camp as well. But i just got a call from the settlement, they've sotted Bengel Morr. Our forces are still spread out dealing with the camps. We're the only ones who can handle this. I'm on my way to the settlement. Meet me there." Orgus explained. I nodded and quickly ended the communication.
I left the cave and began my journey back to the forward camp. It was about a thirty-minute walk and a ten-minute drive back to the Twi'lek village. A forty-minute trip all together. " Call Jedi temple?" T7 Asked.
" I'm sure it's a misunderstanding." Ranna spoke. " Your Master will turn up. Stay here a while. I feel safer when you're close." Ranna spoke.

" Bengel Morr came to me. Said he'd end the Flesh Raider attacks if we gave him your master." Moorint explained.
" He asked us to kill you too-- but I said no. I told him we'd keep you here." Ranna explained to me. She then turned to Moorint. " Please Moorint. Don't hurt him."
" If we don't do what we're told, Bengel Moor will kill us all." Moorint replied.
" Do you think I'll just sit back and let myself be killed. Let me tell you a story Moorint. One I haven't told anyone other than the Jedi. I was on Coruscant when the Sith attacked. And I've killed Sith. Fully trained Sith. That's something Bengel Morr has never done." I explained to the man. " I did all that when I was only ten years old. What do you think I could do to you now? You're pathetic Moorint, Bengel Morr will kill you no matter what you do. But I'll give you a chance. Tell me where he is, and I promise I won't retaliate for you attacking me."
Moorint and the others drew their weapons and pointed them at me.

I sighed and I reached my hand up and used the force to force my way into their minds.

I flew the Speeder up the stairs of the forge and followed the path out into the plains beyond to another cave.

" You know how to make an entrance." Bengel joked as I landed behind him.
" I've always been good at making things go boom. Wanna see what else i can do?" i joked.
" I sense your weakness. You talk big but you're just a weakling like my old master. You will fall with him." Bengel explained.
" You aren't hurting anyone else Bengel. This revolution of yours is over." i told the man.
" No, the will of the force guided me here. To restore what the jedi lost. You were on Coruscant. You should know what is wrong with the jedi. You should want to help me." Bengel explained.
" By doing what? By killing more of our friends. How does that fix things Bengel?" I asked.
" I won't explain it to you. You stand in my and you will die." Bengel explained. He then drew his lightsaber
" Not in a million years, Bengel." I drew my blade and stood ready to fight.
" The Jedi order will be reborn through the ashes." Bengel exclaimed he activated his blade and jumped into the air, doing a back flip and attacking me in the process. He and I parried each other's strikes. Bengel was stronger than his Raiders but not strong enough to beat me. I spun around and kicked Bengel in his jaw causing him to stumble back. I then jumped into the air and attacked his two Flesh Raiders. I swung my blade up and cut the first one's arm off, I then turned around and cut the beast's head off. I then turned around and used my blade to deflect the other Raiders blaster bolt back at him.
Bengel recovered and lunged at me in anger over being defeated so easily.
" I won't lose to you! Not after everything that's happened!" Bengel shouted as I parried his sword strikes with ease.
I reached up and grabbed his arm and headbutted him causing him to drop his lightsaber. Bengel stumbled and I used his momentum to flip him over and threw him hard on to the ground. Bengel rolled over to get to his feet, and I thrusted my blade at his neck forcing him to stop.
" You've.... You've won." Bengel exclaimed in defeat. " Why has the force guided me to defeat?" He asked. " You are stronger than any Jedi I have ever known. You could redeem the order and destroy the Sith. I understand." Bengel exclaimed. " You are the weapon I came to forge."
" You don't have a destiny Bengel. You're sick. But don't worry. You're going to get all the help you'll need." I told the man. I raised my fist and hit Bengel in his head hard, dropping him to the ground and knocking him out. With Bengel having been dispatched and apprehended, I turned to check on Master Orgus.
" Master wake up sunshine." I told the man.
" Ugh! Padawan." Master Orgus groaned. " I must have you to thank for being alive."
" Of course, aren't I awesome? Oh, and I captured Bengel Morr. He's resting quietly." I told the man.
" You've done a great thing. He deserves a second chance. The horrors he witnessed on Coruscant broke him. Destroyed the gentle padawan I trained. You however, faced a challenge beyond any trial I could give you. Honestly There's nothing more I could teach you that you haven't already been taught." Orgus explained. " All that's left is for you to enter the forge and construct your own Lightsaber." Master Orgus explained.
" I'm honored Master. I've waited a long time to build my own." I told the man.
" There's no substitute for a weapon you create yourself. Normally we'd have you go out and search for your own materials." Orgus was explaining.
" Not necessary, Master. I already have my parts. I've prepared for this moment for a long time." I told the man as I turned down the Lightsaber pieces, he was handing to me.
" I see. Very well. Go ahead then. Construct your blade. I will carry Bengel Morr back to the temple. Meet me there when you are done." Master Orgus spoke. He reached down and grabbed Bengel Morr and quickly left the forge.
I however, walked up the long stairs and came to a rest in front of the machine. I pulled out my materials, two blue hilts with silver laced trim with a swirl design. The two blades were each forged with the ability to conjoin together and to separate, a better fit for my style of fighting. And finally, to finish off my sabers I pulled out two special Crystals. One belonged to my master, the green crystal that fit into my old Lightsaber. And for my main blade, a blue Krayt dragon pearl, that my Master and I found years ago when we killed the Krayt Dragon on tatooine. When my sabers finished the mountain began to shake violently. i picked up my two blades and ignited them. The howling sound from my Krayt dragon pearl sounded out through the valley and awoke the creature below. The power I felt holding my sabers was like no other before. I turned towards the beast and smirked.
" Buddy, today just ain't your day." I told the creature.
It howled loudly and ran towards the staircase. I leapt off the forge and hurtled towards the creature. I struck out with my green lightsaber and cut off the beast's horn, causing it a great deal of pain. I landed behind the beast and used my main saber to lop off the creatures, left leg. It fell to the ground, and I leaped into the air and landed on its head. I then struck down with both blades and killed the beast. I jumped off the beasts back and landed on the ground. I then slammed my two blades together and locked the long staff on my hip.
T7 beeped happily and rolled over to me.
" Thanks, little buddy. I finally made it." I told the droid.
" T7 = Happy for Jacen." T7 stated.
" I love you T7. Now, come on buddy. We have a council to address." I told the droid.
T7 beeped and we both began our journey back to the Temple.
After three hours of walking, we finally arrived at our destination. I walked into the temple and up the stairs to the council's chambers and entered during their conversation.
" The Flesh raiders are still a threat. but without Bengel's leadership, they'll be scattered and ill-equipped." Orgus explained.
" This temple could've been devastated. The entire order is in your debt, padawan." Satele spoke to me as I entered the room.
" Just doing my duty, Master. Besides I have to have something to rub in Master Kaedan's face. Right Master?" I joked.
" UghhHH!" Kaedan groaned and rubbed his tired face causing me to laugh.
" Well, Jaeric, he certainly does make things entertaining." Master Syo bakarn joked.
Kaedan sighed and rolled his yes. " Well done, Skywalker. Just don't let it get to your head." Master Kaedan spoke.
" Of course, Master explosive butt." I joked and for a second, I swear Master Kaedan's eyes nearly popped out of his head. " But all jokes aside we need to tighten our security. We can't have a repeat of Coruscant." I spoke.

" Agreed." Master Satele spoke. " And now, we have concerns beyond the flesh raiders. Recent developments in the twi'lek settlements demand a response." Satele spoke.
" Their Matriarch betrayed me to Bengel. But she surrendered herself to us for judgement. Your doing, I understand." Master Orgus turned to me and spoke. " Good work."
" You know the Twi'leks padawan. How do you recommend we proceed?" Satele asked.
" Let, her go back to her people. We swore ourselves to defending the people of the republic. But we neglected the Twi'leks. And as a result, they became desperate for survival and turned against us. We created this instability by refusing to help. That needs to change it." I explained.
" What happened to Master Orgus is almost unforgivable." Satele spoke.
" But if we do forgive- And work with them- It can only improve both our communities." Orgus explained. He then turned towards me again. " This young jedi captured a fallen member of our order and saved the temple from destruction. I see no reason why he should remain a padawan." Orgus explained.
My eyes widened in shock when he recommended me to become a knight.
" Your bravery, heroism, and sacrifice show great depth of character. You represent our best hopes for the future, despite your lack of humor." Satele explained. She rolled her eyes at the last remark, and I couldn't help but chuckle a little. " You arrived on Tython a padawan. But you leave a knight of the republic. May the force be with you." Satele declared.
" Thank you, Master. I promise to continue to uphold the Jedi code and the standards by the Republic. And Master if I may, I'd like for T7 to accompany me. He was Master Zallows droid, and I can't think of a better partner to have my back." I explained to Satele.
" Then I see no reason why you shouldn't stay together." Satele replied
Just as things were looking good Master Orgus spoke again. " We're getting a priority signal from Coruscant. It's Master Kiwiks." Orgus explained.
" Master Orgus, everyone. I've discovered a situation requiring further assistance. Our suspicions about coruscant are correct. The dark presence we have long sensed is strongest here." Master Kiwiks explained.
" Then it sounds like I know where I'm heading next. I grew on Coruscant before, the Jedi found me. I know most of the backstreets and going Ons, on that planet." I explained to the Masters.
" We could use help Satele." Kiwiks told Satele.
" Very well. Master orgus you and your former pupil should join Master Kiwiks on Coruscant." Satele declared.
" Come to the senate tower as soon as you can. master Kiwiks out." Kiwiks spoke before cutting the call.
" No, rest for us my friend. Complete any unfinished business you have and take a shuttle to Coruscant." Orgus told me.
" I can't ride to Coruscant with you? Oh, great. I just know this is going to go bad." I spoke.
" What do you mean?" Orgus asked.
" He's crashed every shuttle he's ever been on." Satele spoke.
" No, I haven't... Just... Most of them." I corrected.
" Well, try not to crash this one and we'll see about you riding on the ship." Master Orgus joked.
" Oh, great. Now I'm gonna be known as the guy who crashes things. Thanks Master Satele." I spoke dryly.
Master Satele laughed as did the other Masters.
I rolled my eyes and then turned to leave. " Come on T7, let's go save the galaxy."
