That was until the coffee arrived and she noticed Lan Li staring at her, his eyes filled with a mixture of mockery and contempt. It was then that He Zhilan finally realised why He Teng's comrade had suddenly taken her out of school and brought her to such an upscale restaurant.
He Zhilan had lived in a small mountain village for twelve years, yet she had spent the first six years of her life as a pampered girl. While she didn't like coffee, that didn't mean she hadn't ever encountered it. The idea that she might make a fool of herself by not knowing how to drink coffee felt ludicrous.
He Zhilan could perfectly mimic the graceful demeanor of a well-bred lady, lifting her coffee with her little finger elegantly as she tasted it in front of him. But she didn't. She was angry.
