Chapter 19: Chapter XIX: Zack Zanelion! Start!

The world everyone knew was a small continent named Vespre. Here there was a higherarchy. The Warrior was the lowest tier, shaman were the second tier, and stalwart was the highest tier, being know for their skills in the first and second tiers. The the classes were serfs, mid class, noble, and royalty.

In a year where technology had erupted again, better than ever, a boy was born who read books about fantasy, adventure, science fiction, ect. This boy was named Zack Zanelion. His parents were at the serf class. They weren't even in the tier system due to the fear of dying. Zack was homeschooled by parents due to being poor.

His parents wanted to have a child for only vain reasons. They wanted him to be able to be a stalwart. If he could manage that, he could do anything. He could get then to the noble, maybe even royalty class! They taught him all the base principles of magic and combat when he was nine so the pieces would snap in his head when older.

He grew up to the age of twelve, around the age where you could do magic. Zack tried but he failed very horribly. He also couldn't fight properly. His parents almost immediately called him a lost cause and started hating him since that day.

He no longer got homeschooled. He only got the scraps of food they could afford. They eventually took all of his belongings and sold them for a good amount of money, and finally, he was beaten up to the point he'd almost break a bone, every single day of his life.

This feeling he would gain every day was fear, resentment, and hatred. He wanted to vent but couldn't. Usually he'd go to a local library and look for a good book to save him from the stress in his life. He was a introvert and didn't really have any friends. Most of the time he'd read a fiction story about a legendary hero.

Zack then decided to head to the library to think about things and read. He walked there in a slow pace because he had nothing trying to force him to move faster. He looked around and saw a few families talking to each other. Zack envied the fact they had a actual family.

Zack decided to keep walking to the library. He looked around to see more of a few houses made of some sort of stone and the streets were paved with the same type of stone. Zack was looking around because he felt like he was watched.

He eventually got to the library with not too many run-ins with mid classes. He got in and looked for a book to read. He was looking for his usual book but then he was told someone took it. Zack sighed and looked for the librarian. Maybe there was a copy. He went to the librarian as she was moving a cart and said "Hey. Do you know if there is a copy of "Kane's Folly" in here". The librarian said no which disappointed Zack.

The librarian eventually moved the cart but a book dropped from it. Zack picked it up and said "hey! You dropped this boo-" Zack was stopping because he realized she wasn't even in the library anymore. Zack was scratching his head on this mystery but decided to read the book.

It had No name, No author, No illustrations on the cover, nothing was telling him about this book. The book was made with some sort of material he couldn't figure out was in one hundred years. He opened it just to see a language he didn't understand. It was just symbols that weren't readable. This language was Japanese.

Zack wanted to decipher it but didn't know how to do it. "Maybe I'll just take it home for now." He thought seeing this was the second time he did this. His parents broke several bones in him the last time. This is why he never checks out books. This time he was going to hide it.

He checked the book out and walked home. He again had no rush so he kept on walking there. He walked until he heard a voice. "What are you holding" The person behind him said. Zack could already tell this was someone higher then him in the class system.

"It's a book that's in a different form of writing." Zack said. Everyone only knew one language. They didn't even know what language meant. "Can I see it?" The person behind him said. "No. I'm just going home." Zack said but he head a snap and a grown adult man came and hit him. Then he started beating him.

This was worse than every single time combined because he was beaten beyond recognition. They took his book and they both laughed at Zack who was spewing blood everywhere. No one helped him and he came home with nothing.

His parents laughed at him when they realized it was their son and Zack couldn't take it anymore. He ran away until he reached a large body of water. Zack was done. He suffered all this pain and got a infinite hell. Now he was going to jump into the lake and end it.

He fell in and started feeling lightheaded.

[Do you want strength?]

Zack looked at this message as he felt the pain of drowning. He said yes.

[Then Don't Die]

Zack was looking at it but had felt the urge to go up. This wasn't the urge to survive, this was his urge to try and be strong. He swam up and fell into the lake and was about to drown. This was it. He was going to see death.

"Fine. Can't have the first thing that's interesting to me in almost quintillion years die on me can I?"

Zack heard this voice and was confused but then felt shadows lift him from the water. He got out of the water and saw another message.

[You Survived!]

[Reward: Obtained Voidal Desendant System.]

Zack looked in the water to see he looked different. Half his body was entirely black with a red eye.
