Chapter 419: Chapter 419: Wanting More

In Duke's plan, Jandice was not supposed to appear here.

Previously, Jandice's early return to her family to see Lord Barov was actually paving the way for Duke's meeting with the Duke.

Lord Barov was a family supremacist. If he was caught off guard by King Aiden and faced with that situation, it was clear that, whether out of his friendship with Aiden or consideration for his family's business, Duke estimated that there was a 90% chance he would agree to join.

Historically, the Barov family also boarded Aiden's doomed ship and was ruined by Aiden. After failing to cling to the Horde's leg in Alterac, Aiden fled to Barov's old home, Caer Darrow, and when it was besieged by the Alliance's heavy troops, Lord Barov finally chose to hand over Aiden.

But after the war, the Barov family was still confiscated of all their territories, leading to the great tragedy of the Barov family offering the entire Caer Darrow to the Cult of the Damned during the Third Dark Portal War, turning the family's territory into a gathering place for the undead, the Scholomance.

Since Duke knew this, he would not let this tragedy happen.

He easily persuaded Lord Barov.

It's simple, the so-called 'betrayal of the Alliance' that even Duke, the deputy commander of the Alliance, knew about, was a big joke. Since it was a doomed rebellion plan, even if it was his own loyal king, Lord Barov had no reason to board Aiden's sinking ship.

The reason for supporting the Alliance is also simple.

"I am first a human, and then a subject loyal to the king."

In this way, Duke gained the full support of Lord Barov and his wife, and was able to disguise himself as Lord Barov to attend Aiden's defection meeting with the help of illusion magic.

In the plan Duke had set up in advance, there was no more part for Jandice to play.

But now, Jandice, protected by four strong private soldiers wearing the Barov family emblem, appeared on the roof. Not only Jandice, but there were also two court mages from Alterac standing behind her.

Duke glanced at the fighting red dragons and gryphons in the sky and said nervously, "Jandice, it's dangerous here. I only asked you to hire people to help set up the magic circle, not to come here."

"But I want to help you! Duke, you want to annihilate the Horde's Red Dragon Legion, don't you?" The wind blew, causing Jandice's black hair to flutter in the wind. Beneath the silver forehead ornament were a pair of beautiful, intelligent eyes as clear as ice and snow.

Being with Jandice, Duke always felt comfortable. She was understanding, submissive, like a little wife who would endure whatever hardship she encountered. But she also had good manners and remarkable diplomatic skills, and she was quite smart. Duke just didn't expect Jandice to be this smart.

Duke laughed, "So... you saw through me, huh?"

Jandice lifted her chin a little proudly, "Of course, you asked me to set up a magic circle to enhance the power of ice and snow, I thought of it right away. So I asked my father to use his connections to give you a little surprise."

The daughter of the Barov family turned to Duke and introduced, "These two are the court mages of Alterac, Gasnard and Chicolet. They can transfer the control of the magic defense circle of Alterac Palace to you." At this

point, Jandice blinked, "One of the magic circles of Alterac Palace is a 'No-Fly Zone'!"

Duke was stunned.

To be honest, Duke wasn't sure if Orgrim would come. He just instinctively felt that Orgrim wouldn't miss the opportunity to control a human kingdom. So he used the influence of Lord Barov, who had sway over Alterac, to bring in half of the Silver Hand Knights and the Windrunner sisters.

The Silver Hand Knights, all told, were just over a hundred elite paladins, and half a group was about 70 people, which was nothing to Lord Barov.

If Orgrim didn't come, it would be more than enough to suppress King Aiden with these people. If Orgrim did come, it would be a perfect opportunity to trap the Horde.

Based on Orgrim's tendency to use dragon riders as cover, Duke hoped to change the balance of air forces on both sides in one go. The Wildhammer Gryphon Riders were strong, but they should be used in better places, not tragically worn down against the red dragons.

So Duke secretly asked Jandice to find a way to set up a magic circle on the top of the palace.

But Duke was thinking of merely dealing a heavy blow to the Red Dragon Legion, not annihilating them.

He knew his own strength. With the power of the Morningstar mages, it would be too difficult to annihilate hundreds of red dragons.

Just now, however, Jandice told him that even Aiden's most trusted court mages were Barov's people, and they could control the palace's magic circle to create a no-fly zone?

That was promising!

A wave of ecstasy surged in Duke's heart, and he was so excited that he couldn't control himself. Almost subconsciously, he hugged Jandice and patted her back.

"Hahaha! Great! Fantastic! This time, we'll finish off you big lizards! Jandice! You must be credited for this!"

At first, Jandice was confused. She never expected Duke to be so happy that he would hug her.

The next moment, a faint blush spread across her beautiful face.

She said softly, "Uh, I'm glad you're happy, Duke."

"Of course I'm happy! Okay, it's dangerous here, you should quickly go to a safe place, I have a big game to play!" With that, the oblivious Duke left Jandice aside and went to discuss things with the two court mages.

Jandice pursed her lips, tightly clenching the hem of her mage robe, then let go: "Duke... is a man of great deeds."

With that, she didn't plan to entangle Duke, waved goodbye to him, and wisely retreated.

After sending a magical message, a few minutes later, Kurdran in the sky finally received Duke's message.

"What? You're not joking, are you?"

"Of course I'm not joking!"

"Please, you're playing with fire with the lives of all the Wildhammer Gryphon Riders and Gryphons on Eagle's Nest Mountain!" Kurdran almost cursed, "Losing speed and altitude in aerial combat! That's suicide! And this altitude won't kill those big lizards!"

"Who told you I was going to fight a pure air battle?"

"I disagree! Unless you have a better reason to convince me!" As he spoke, Kurdran controlled Skare to make a maneuver similar to an Immelmann turn, and during the turn, Kurdran knocked an orc into the air with a Storm Hammer.

"Alright, I'll tell you, my trump card is..."

Upon hearing that name, Kurdran

shivered all over: "Alright, you've convinced me."
