Chapter 122: A Dream?

Arjuna got awoken by somebody shaking his shoulder. He groggily rose his head and turned to the person who was trying to wake him up.

The gnome master archer's small and wrinkly face appeared in Arjuna's view, he grunted out in a dissatisfied manner

"huh sleeping when I'm spending my precious time to teach you eh?"

Arjuna only responded with a grunt and then looked around again. He was still sitting in a wooden chair with his arms resting on a table. The hooded figure had disappeared and the gnome master was the only one in the room.

Frankly, Arjuna was kinda pissed that he was just ejected out of the world he was in. He thought upon the place he was in happily. But then using the information that was transplanted in his brain when he was born. He realized that he might have been dreaming.

He just got even more mad, after realizing that and glared at the gnome master who had just woken him up. The gnome master widened his eyes at the sight of his usually calm and hardworking disciple show him such furious eyes.

The gnome master took to steps back and silently promised himself that he wouldn't try and wake up Arjuna, or deal with him when he was waking up.

The gnome master quickly told Arjuna

"go freshen up and meet me outside on the side of the archery target field, where the racks of arrows are."

Without waiting for Arjuna's response he walked to the exit of the room and left giving one last concerned look to Arjuna who was still giving the gnome master the angry annoyed eye.

When the door finally closed shut Arjuna sighed and tried his best to think about all that he had just seen. He wasn't fully sure if what he just saw was a dream or not. But in the flurry of emotions, he felt standing on the top of that hill made him want to find that place again.

He only saw that place for only a few hours, or maybe minutes but he had already fallen in love with that place.

Arjuna truly wished that he could gaze on that scenery one more time. But he had a sinking feeling in his gut that he wouldn't be able to find that place in his dreams anymore.

He muttered to himself angrily

"fine, ill do it myself" He Arjuna would travel the lands, no the worlds and find that place. And if he really needed to he would fricking build it himself.

Adventuring and exploring was a deep desire in Arjuna it seems. Ever since he entered the world of WOW he had always gazed at the faraway mountains and lands, longing to one day travel to them, to fight the monsters that inhabited them, to save the weak and oppressed village that might exist near theirs or find the lost treasure that could help his masters' cause. Being tied down to a single place, constantly working, and listen to lectures made Arjuna feel like he was being caged up and tied down.

But, he also knew how important it would be for his future and for his master.

Arjuna raised his arms from their resting position on the table and started to stretch. Even though he hated being stuck in one place for a while, he was very grateful to the people who taught him. What they were teaching him were things that he was sure he would employ many years in the future.

He finished rousing himself up and walked to the exit. He checked all of his equipment, his bow and quiver were back on his body. All of his hidden weapons were also still on. His ranger equipment was made for fast movement and long-range combat perfect for Arjuna's battle style.

Arjuna opened the door and the afternoon sunlight streamed in. Lighting the dirt field filled with targets and archers that were trying to hit them, with a golden glow. Arjuna gazed at the surroundings looking for where the gnome master had directed him towards.

On the side of the field, Arjuna spotted a shack with racks of arrows next to it. Arjuna headed for it being careful to go behind the archers because he didn't want to get shot.

While walking, Arjuna was able to observe the archers that were training most of the NPCs were wearing beginners outfits and others wore clothing that only rangers and skilled archers would wear. There was a hooded figure that was in the very corner of the field the one nearest the shack where Arjuna was heading to that caught his eye. It wasn't the hooded figure that was talking to the gnome master earlier, at least that's what Arjuna thought.

That hooded figure was figuring arrows from the old beginner bow at like a Gatling gun. For some reason, the rest of the archers didn't notice the archer at the end shotting arrows like a turret.

Arjuna looked at the target the figure was shooting at. It was totally demolished, its support beam was riddled with arrows and the other support beam had already collapsed. Making the target swing on its one support. It was riddled with holes and Arjuna could barely see the targets marking with how many arrows were sticking into the target. The training bow snapped in the hands of the hooded figure, which Arjuna wasn't really surprised at, in fact, Arjuna was pretty sure he saw smoke coming out of the bow's string when the hooded figure was shooting.

Arjuna couldn't even see the hooded figures' arms when they were shot. Everything was hidden underneath the dark cloak with confused Arjuna since it should have been nearly impossible to shot like that.

The pieces of the bow fell to the ground and the hooded figure turned to Arjuna. Arjuna couldn't see much except some eyes that peered into him, but with Arjuna's trained eyes and with the help of the sun that was streaming into the field in rays. He was able to catch a glimpse of a long strand of hair.

The hooded figure walked away with none of the archers stopping to take a took at the person. Arjuna didn't stop the hooded figure either. He was too lazy to do it and he also had a lesson to go to.

He walked past the hooded figure, who again looked at him with these intense eyes that kinda scared Arjuna. Arjuna just kept on walking hoping nothing weird would happen, and finally reached the shack where the gnome master was waiting.

He grunted and said

"you're finally here"

He pointed to a set next to him and motioned for him to seat. Arjuna walked over and sat like instructed. He looked at the table they were both sitting in front off. It was a table filled with feathers, sticks, and arrowheads of all sorts.

The gnome started to talk while holding up a finished arrow for Arjuna to admire.

"Today, I'm going to teach you how to make arrows. Normally this isn't a required skill, but I and a business partner are working on something and you are now required to have this skill. It's very important, trust us."

Without letting Arjuna say anything the gnome master Sninkkaakac jumped right into the lesson.

[the archery master Sninkkaakac is offering to teach you the skill (arrow making) do you accept?]

[note: learning skills from masters provides your skill with a bonus]

[yes/no]

"yes"

Sninkkaakac showed Arjuna an arrowhead

"you already know what this is, but what I'm going to teach you is how to make a normal arrow and then we will move on to a special on that I want to teach you."

"yes sir"

The gnome master nodded satisfied at Arjuna's enthusiastic reply and started to lecture

"so the arrowhead of the arrow is very important its where the arrow penetrates and does damage, most people say that the sharper and heavier the arrowhead is the better it is. WHICH IS WRONG, the most important thing is balance. Balance is needed so that the arrow can actually fly to the dang target, not buzz around like a weak fly and land 5 meters away from you. The wood is also important, it's like the backbone of your arrow, holding everything together, if the stick isn't straight don't ever expect to hit your target."

The gnome took a deep breath to recover from his rant and countied

"The feathering is also important. It's like your propeller, and a good quality one can make your arrow fly much farther. Now feathering an arrow is probably the hardest part of making an arrow so we will get to that part later. First ill show you how to fasten an arrowhead to the stick"

Arjuna watched with forces eyes as the gnome master started to tie the arrowhead to the stick with a rope. The lesson continued for many hours, past the sunset and when the moon started to rise they were still making arrows sometimes the gnome master would yell at Arjuna for screwing up, but Arjuna knew that was just Sninkkaakac's personality and continued on. Meanwhile, Master Sninkkaakac was just thankful he had finally found a student he could pass on his skills to even if he had to adjust things according to his business partners' request.
