"Ashes," Jonathan said over comms after thinking. "You have three minutes. Retreat from the perpetual daylight district if I'm not back by then. Stay in contact with... the 'Mirror' during, it'll guide you out safely."

"Mirror?" Diema echoed the code name, then nodded. "Understood."

Crystal was farther away, safe without extra instructions, but Jonathan still added: "Carry on as normal if I'm gone long; I'll contact you when secure."

Crystal asked confusedly: "Why say that? You..."

"Just necessary arrangements doesn't mean things will go wrong," Jonathan said. "Precaution." 

Crystal swallowed his questions. "Understood."

Jonathan checked his equipped gear. Fully armed, latest riot helmet looted from Mechanical Dawn. Though he refrained from wearing the mechanical exoskeleton armor due to its complexity without auxiliary gear, the high-intensity combat suit also provided excellent defense.
