Chapter 8: Skills
Michael cautiously drove out of the ranch. He found a road leading back to civilization and drove until he reached city limits. He abandoned the van and set it on fire. He then pulled out the bicycle that he placed in his inventory before coming to Oklahoma and went to a motel to get a room. He was hungry enough to eat a horse but he really just wanted to go to bed right now.
In a remote burned down ranch
Roaring sounds of Harley motorcycles could be heard approaching the ranch. Roy was shocked at the scene that greeted him as he stared at the remains of his ranch.
"Shit what happened? BRODY, are you here?" Roy always spoiled his little brother and was devastated at the thought of him being dead.
By now the fire had died out so he rushed in only to see two charred corpses. One of them was his brother and the other was William. The captive boy was nowhere to be seen. The drugs and the guns were either burned down or gone. His safe was busted open and empty. He did not know what to do. It must have been a trap. The boy had a back-up who came and rescued him.
Roy knew he was finished. He might even get kicked out of the club. The drugs were brought from the cartel and the guns bought from Neo-Nazis. The club basically served as a middleman buying drugs from the cartel and selling them guns; while buying guns from neo-nazis and selling them drugs. They made a cut from each side; however, now they did not have the guns or the drugs.
One week later the Hells Demons would be taught a lesson by the cartel. The lesson fee was paid with their lives. The cartels wanted to let everyone know what happened to people who could not keep their promises.
Present day in a random Motel
The next day Michael woke up and ate some food he had in his inventory. After feasting on canned vegetables begrudgingly, he turned his attention to his status.

His physical stats did not go up much since it has only been a week since he broke through to advanced rank. He then turned to the skill store and contemplated the skills to buy. He finally made up his mind and decided to prioritize combat skills to save his life.

Basic Gun Expertise (10,000 credits): You will be much more familiar with guns. You can pick up any gun and get quickly used to it. Increases accuracy with shots.
Basic Toxin resistance (10,000 credits): You will have a small innate resistance to poisons and venoms. You will recover much quicker from non-lethal toxins.
Basic Disease resistance (10,000 credits): Your immune system has evolved to the next level. It has much better chances of fighting off invaders.
Basic Martial Arts (10,000 credits): Your hand combat skills are brought up to the next level. Watch out for the American Bruce Lee!!
Deducting 70,000 credits. Do not forget to upgrade your skills to make yourself more overpowered. Only strong Emperors are worth mentioning, all others are just trash.]
Michael was still trying to read all the descriptions when information flooded into his brain and he passed out. Fortunately, he was unconscious so he did not have to experience the pain of having his body reformed.
After a while, Michael gradually woke up. He looked over his skills and was very happy. He could feel like his body was much stronger. He felt like he evolved into a new being. However, he realized it costs 10 million credits in order to upgrade the skills to the intermediate level. More so, he did not understand how he was going to transfer the cash into the store every time.
"System do I have to withdraw cash from the bank every time in order to exchange cash? It will be troublesome to withdraw large amounts of cash."

Michael wondered what the system would do with the cash, but he was mostly just glad he would not have to keep withdrawing cash every time. Michael transferred $200,000 from his account to the system. He wanted to purchase some skills from other branches and those skills were not subsidized like combat skills. Michael then continued training and after two hours he got an alert from the system.

Michael then purchased two skills from the social branch.

Basic Deception Detection (100,000 credits): Decreases chance of being fooled. Allows basic detection of simple lies and fraud.]
Michael did not want to take any chances since the bikers knew what he looked like. They might try to find him again for revenge. So he decided to use a disguise and change his face when in Oklahoma. The disguise skill at basic tier allows him to change facial features. He looked completely different now. His face and even eye color were changed. He still looked young as he could not age his face and hair yet but this would be enough for now.
Michael then decided to continue gambling. He was glad that the casino did not take action against him. However, before he could continue visiting casinos he needed to get a car. Walking on the streets was not safe and made him vulnerable.
Michael was actually a motorhead; his all-time favorite anime is Initial D. He loved cars and anything related to them. He was especially fond of the tuning scene. He did not want to buy an expensive car yet as he just started making money so he was considering a budget sports car. He decided to buy a Subaru WRX-STI. He was a big fan of Subaru's all-wheel-drive system and a new STI costs on average $40,000 which was affordable considering he still had $710,000 left in the bank. He did not want to waste any money but there are some things that are just necessary in the modern world.
