Chapter 2: Visitors at the mountain.

When Zelta got home, she met her mother; priestess Arorah sitting on her chair and looking pale. When she saw Zelta, she beckoned at her to sit, which she did.

"You've come of age Zelta, and as you can see and observe, I'm advanced in age and I don't have much time left," said the priestess.

"Don't talk like that mother, you know I can't risk losing you, now's not the right time," replied Zelta with a sad expression on her face.

Meanwhile, her mother meant what she said.

"You have to accept your fate Zelta, I want to pass unto you the wisdom of the ancestors so you can lead with peace and wisdom when I go to the great beyond, " explained the priestess.

"Come my child, come, " said the priestess as she called on Zelta her daughter.

So Zelta walked quietly to her and knelt before her. Priestess Arorah gave her daughter a necklace with a gold pendant and a metal box.

"Take this, wear it around your neck always, and keep this box as your most priced possession, protect it with your life because within it lies the wisdom and power of the sirkari people, " said the priestess.

"Hold it for now because I'm very sick. And obviously, I wouldn't last any longer," added priestess Arorah.

Zelta carefully collected the box from her mother and began to observe it.

It was a metal box that possesses some strange symbols on it, coated with gold. She tried to open the box but it seemed to be sealed.

"How can I open it? it's stiff," asked Zelta.

"You'll open it someday, the spirits of the ancestors would always decide when you're ready," said the priestess with a cold rasped voice.

Zelta then went to her room with the box with her and hid it in a secret place.

The next day, Zelta's female friend; Zain, came to see her. They were both the same age but Zelta was taller than Zain, blonde-haired, and fairer than Zain, who on the other hand had long black hair. Zain entered Zelta's room to find her still asleep.

"Rise and shine sleepy head, it's morning," she announced to Zelta who stretched and turned on her bed.

"Mm-hmm, is it morning already, I feel like sleeping all day," replied Zelta.

"Come on out Zelta, I have a lot to tell you," said Zain.

"Like what, anything new?" asked Zelta.

"Not much, just a few girly gossips, that's all," replied Zain, smiling sheepishly.

Zelta quickly dressed up, she wore a pair of black leather tight trousers, a green jacket, and a pair of leather boots. She came out and joined Zain as they both strolled to the seaside. On the way, they laughed as they talked about different stuff and guys.

The river was so silent and still as they arrived. They sat down on a pair of rocks they saw lying beside the water, admiring the magnificent radiance of the water.

"So what was it that you wanted to talk about?" asked Zelta.

"Well they're some strange things I've discovered going on lately in this realm," said Zain.

"Things like what? " asked Zelta.

"Have you ever asked yourself what the warriors do at night, or where they go with weapons?" asked Zain.

"I do sometimes, wondering why they need to guard the realm when we're told that here's safe. Maybe they go to fight against some dangerous creatures that are trying to invade the land?" asked Zelta.

"That's what I mean, because yesterday at night, I saw human body parts littered by the side of the southern mountains, I was very frightened at the very sight of it, then, later on, rumors had it that a certain warrior died. I'm very much convinced that something or someone out there killed him," explained Zain.

"Do you really mean what you're saying? " asked Zelta with a look of disbelief on her face.

"I mean it Zelta, and if you doubt you come with me this night so we can see for ourselves," said Zain.

"I don't think that's a good idea Zain, we are strictly prohibited from going up there, remember," replied Zelta.

"Look, we're not kids anymore, we're warriors," said Zain.

" I know, but what if we get caught, you know the penalty. Think about being

grounded in bars for the rest of your life," replied Zelta.

" Don't worry about that, we won't get caught. Leave everything to me, I have a plan," said Zain.

"Alright, I hope that smart brain of yours got something in store," said Zelta.

" It sure does," replied Zain.
