Mia: Okay, all clear.
I look left and right before leaving the break room. Looks like Custard Face left. I sigh with relief and return to the counter.
???: Can I have lemon tart, please?
I hear a voice from behind me.
Mia: Oka-....
Wait a second, that voice is... I slowly turn my head around to see...
Mia: Cus-! S-Sir!
I can't call him Custard Face in front of everyone! But wait, more importantly, did he just teleport here?!
The Man: Surprised to see me? Or are you happy?
He smiles at me. S-so frigging cute!
*THUMP THUMP THUMP*
My heart can't take it!
Mia: Why would I be happy to see you?!
The Man: I don't know. Maybe because you like me.
He beams at me. What the?!
Mia: H-How can like I like you! I... I already have someone I like!
That's right, the one I've been liking for all these years is... my childhood best friend, Jason although I haven't meet him in years. His smile vanishes before being changing to a teasing smile.
The Man: Your boyfriend?
Mia:... I don't have a boyfriend.
Custard Face is about to say something when his phone rings. The caller ID says 'Cindy'; it's a girl. Is that his girlfriend? H-Hey, why am I concerned about that?! It could be his... sister!! Why do I feel so... envious though? Maybe it's because I'm single. Yeah, that's probably it. He sighs and disconnects the call.
The Man: Well, I'll better get going.
He smiles and turns around to leave. I reach out my hand to stop him but freeze. What would I even do by stopping him? I just don't want him to leave though. I pull back my hand.
The Man: Oh, by the way,...
He turns to face me.
The Man: Are you free tomorrow evening?
Mia: What? Why?
The Man: Well, do you remember the business I wanted to talk to you about?
That's right! That's why he took my phone number!
Mia: Yes!
The Man: It's about that. So, free? Not free?
Mia:...! Free!! Like 24/7 free!
Oops, I just blurted out what I was thinking! He doesn't think I'm a weirdo or something right?! However...
The Man: Haha, then I'll text you where to meet.
He flashes me a childish smile. Weird, why does it look so familiar? But, my heart is pounding like crazy! I bet my face is red too. I press my hands to my cheeks to hide them, an innocent smile spreading across my face. Although I don't want to admit it, I'm actually looking forward to what we're going to do tomorrow.
