Chapter 54: To Stay, Part 1
WHAT THE HELL DID HE JUST SAID?—tsk! Now's not the time to get flustered by something stupid. My identity is literally in danger right now.
"…so that gal's yours? You see, she's the one who started it. I wanted this potato chips and she happens to grab it as well. But we're all fine now, since she gave it to me." Ren's hostility is really scaring me. He's glaring non-stop when Cain showed up.
Cain grabbed my hand, telling me with his eyes that we'll be on our way. "Fine, if that's all we're lea—" but unfortunately, these delinquents won't let us go just yet.
"Wait, hold on a minute… I'd like to have a quick word with you." AND WHAT ELSE DO THEY HAVE TO TALK ABOUT!?
"You!" Before Cain could even complain, more of them showed up. Ash, Jin, and Lexi blocked our way behind us. "Not so fast, the boss said he'd like to speak with 'ya."
W-What are they planning to do with Cain?! Wasn't it me they're supposed to be going for?!
"Tsk, what else is there for us to talk about? We have nothing to do with you." That's right, Cain and I have nothing to do with them at all! Can't they just leave us alone?!
"Well, now that you're here infront of me, I'd like you to relay a message to your boss for me." Ren smirked and even made Cain to step back a little.
Do they know each other?!
"...I don't know what you're talking about."
"You can't deceive me, I know well who you are even with that pathetic disguise." As Ren said that, it felt like he was talking to me as well. But that's probably directed only at Cain, right? Because there's now way he'd figure out too soon. "Cain, the vice commander of the Reapers gang. Tell your boss to DROP DEAD AND GO TO FUCKING HELL ALREADY!"
Almost everyone in the store is shocked by the sudden outrage of this delinquents. Even his own members were shocked to see their boss lose his temper. The same goes for me, this is a first.
Ren must hate the Leader of the Reapers.
Though there was also another fact that caught me surprised. "You think I can tell him something like that? Tell him that yourself." Cain glanced at me, and it looks like he's really troubled by this situation. I can tell that there's also a possibility that they'll try to do something with him right now.
Shit! We should've chose a different store.
"Right... I can see that you're too afraid to relay that kind of message to your boss. Are you afraid that he'll beat you for relaying the message for me? What a fucking coward."
"Don't even think of starting a gang fight with us, Ren. You know well how our gang differs in strength and numbers." Cain removes both his sunglasses and facemask and sets it aside with me.
"Oh yeah? But you're all alone right now, aren't you?" Damn this thugs! And isn't this unfair?! Cain is all by himself, though I can assist him by calling some guards to stop them all but Cain might be beaten to death by the time I come back. And I also thought Ren would never do such a thing!
Somehow I'm disappointed to see this side of my boss.
"I can fucking take you all right now, assholes!" Wait, this dimwit is trying to take five of them all at once?!
"Cain, no!" I told him. Then it looks like he almost forgot about me as he said that. Cain can't take them all on his own! They all have monstrous strengths!!
Luckily, the manager of the store and some guards managed to chase away those delinquents. Even Cain is being chased out so I had to help him. "Ah no, you've got it wrong! My boyfriend and I were being surrounded by those thugs because of a potato chip and..." they left us alone after understanding the situation.
And after we finally bought all the snacks we want, I felt extremely tired from the tension earlier. "That was unfortunate. Who knew we would run into such people." As I glanced at Cain, my eyes widened in surprised.
"Hey, why the hell are you so red?! Are you alright?!"
He's so flustered that it was difficult for him to look at me. "Because!..."
"Because what?! Tell me!"
"Y-You... earlier y-you... b-boyf..."
"What? Can't you speak more clearly?" I asked and leaned closer, but he steps back and spoke. "Y-You called me your boyfriend earlier!"
"Ah!!... yeah, that!" Geez, after all that happened he still got embarassed by that small matter!? "Well, the shop manager will believe me if I tell them you were my boyfriend and so as the reasons why those thugs were on us... also..."
"..."
"YOU ALSO CALLED ME YOUR GIRLFRIEND EARLIER!" Now both of us had very flushed faces. This is so damn embarassing! After a moment of silence, he even managed to joke about it. "Does that mean we're in a relationship now?"
"WHAT?! NO WAY!"
Cain just laughed it off and sighed. "Atleast it's all over with those thugs now."
"Y-Yeah, though it would've been better if it never happened."
"But..." then he suddenly looked bummed about it. Don't tell me he was disappointed that I didn't agree with him being in a relationship!?
