Chapter 2: Zeron Plum
I am Zeron Plum, the one who was stroked by lightning, yeah, the unlucky boy.
I wasn't always that unlucky, I was a novae-rich or some people would say; a useless second generation. I was not really a second generation; you could call it eighth or ninth generation because I was born into a rich and powerful clan.
'The Plum Clan'. One of the most powerful families in the world, you could see a shadow of the clan in the light and dark.
Like most clans that are that powerful, it lacks the warmth of family, the care, love, trust, and above all true happiness that a real family gives.
It was cold, every one after his or her benefit wanted to outdo the rest, and have more speaking rights, even parricide is not rare.
But it didn't bother me, even if my parents were not there for me, always chasing after their benefit and thinking of how to milk me to their benefit, how best to make use of me, and thinking of me as a resource and not a son.
Well, it doesn't matter, although I crave their parental love, I guess I will never have any of that.
I am still happy, smile, radiate joy, and always think positively, why? Because I have my beautiful big sis.
She was my light, she took care of me when I was a baby till, I grew up.
Can you imagine an eight-year-old girl feeding a toddler sweet. yeah smiles, that's my sweet sis.
I am in so much pain!
"Arrrrgggghhhh!!!!" I screamed out loud.
"Why! Why? Why?"
"Don't you love me?".
"Why did you have to go?"
"Why is the heavens so cruel to blind my light?"
There, stood me facing a grave after the memorial was over. Dressed in all black, I was standing there crying my heart out.
"Why sis?".
"Why?
"Why are you heartless?"
Yes, that's what happened. My big sis was dead. Cassy Plum killed herself!
Cassy was given an arranged marriage, to marry into the Zane clan to deepen the bond between the two powerhouse families.
My parent sure were ecstatic but my sister was in despair, why? Because she already was in love with someone. A man named Jonathan.
Jonathan was really nice to me, standing at 180cm with curly brown hair, a tan and good-looking guy. his smiles always make you smile.
Maybe that was how my sister fell in love with him.
My clan never supported the love between my sister and Jonathan, but they both didn't give up, hoping that everything would turn out as a fairy tale.
There was no fairy tale, it was only a tragedy.
Jonathan was killed.
He was murdered by Cassy's fiancé 'Kane Zane' the ruthless heir of the Zane family.
She was in so much pain that my parent instead of consoling her were laughing and saying it's all good, serve him right he is dead.
Craashhh! *The sound of something hitting the ground. *
There lies Cassy, or should I say her corpse with a kitchen knife sticking in her stomach.
"Ahhhhh!!!" My mother screams,
"Call the ambulance", that was the sound of my father barking orders but still after everything, the doctor couldn't revive her.
Cassy died!
Tap tap
*The sound of teardrops striking against the pavement under the rain in front of the hospital*
"Cassy!!!!" Zeron screamed mournfully in great despair in front of her grave.

(Years later)
It was a hot afternoon. The sun did not spare anyone. It shines its heat on everyone below, on the terrain. It was showing off its domination by chasing away the clouds from the sky and making the sky clear.
In front of a mall in Dubai, Africa, Zeron Plum saw two kids fighting each other over a chocolate candy
He smiled, went towards them, bent down so that they were all in an even height, and spoke.
"Little babies, what is it, why are beautiful angels like both of you fighting like gangsters in the street".
Zeron smiled as he told them that.
The girl among the fighting duo blushes but the boy puffs up his cheeks and says.
"I don't care what you think, the chocolates are mine because I am the man".
"Daddy said that the man is the God of the family, and all should respect his every wish". the boy says.
The girl retorts by saying "But mom bought this for me, you said you wanted a gamepad, Jack you are bad!". she starts to cry.
Zeron was amused and also angry at the dictator father who taught the kid rigid thinking.
So, he smiled, "Jack, right?". looking at the eight-year-old boy before him and then at his sister who is also eight years old. They are twins.
"Yes Mr," he answered.
"Is your mom and dad living in the same house?".
He hesitates a little as he answers in a depressed tone, with his shoulders slumped,
"Mom says she like staying in the other house".
Well, Zeron could guess the progression of things, the parents were divorced. (My guts are telling me that it's the fault of the father, but let me not jump to conclusions yet, women can also be terrifying). Zeron thought.
He gave the little boy named Jack what he thought was a harmless smile, and said
"Jack, you should protect your sister, do not let anyone hurt her, that's what makes you a man, how you protect your loved ones."
"But daddy sa-" " Zeron immediately cut him up.
"What do you think it means to be a man?
He was stunned for a second, then looked at Zeron, turned around walked to his sister, and gave her the chocolate which he had taken from her.
while saying "Sorry Jane",
she looks at him, then sniffles her tears.
With some strength, she divided the chocolates into two and gave Jack one part, she took the other.
"Jack, Jane" why are you outside the shed and not sitting on the chair?"
Someone called.
It was an attractive blonde woman with a sexy body curve, she was a 9/10 if you ask any guys, judging from the way all the men around were googling at her.
She walks straight to her kids and when she sees the remnants of tears in Jane's eyes she frowns "What happened?"
Jane smiled with cute dimples and said, "It is nothing Mommy, me and Jackie were just playing".
The attractive lady's frown settles,
"So, what were you two playing, can I join?" She asks with a laugh.
"Okay Mommy, let's play buy us chocolates!". The two kids said together.
The attractive lady who was their mom then laughed.
"You little goblins!"
Jane then giggles.
Jack then cut in by asking "Mom did you see Uncle?"
"Uncle?" She asks.
.....
Zeron left the kids when he saw an attractive lady who closely resembled Jane walking over from a distance.
He knew in his guts that it was their mom, so he went away before she could get close enough and see him.
(But God that woman is gorgeous, I would have loved to hook up with her if not for the kids).
(I would not want to make their mama sad because-)
He stopped as his face was covered by dark shadows and his eyes were cold and expressionless.
He smirked and said aloud.
"Because I am not a good person".
Ring Ring Ring
"Hello?"
"Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday! Happy birthday! Happy birthday to you!".
Zeron's mood clears as he remembers today is his birthday.
"Thank you, Sam,". he said.
"Anything for a friend". Sam replied.
"Friend huh?". Zeron smiled "It's good I still have that".
