Chapter 16: 16. (Can't think of title)
"How long have you guys been there?" asked Karma
"Just before you flew towards the practice dummies. " said Takemikazuchi while the rest of his Familia nodded.
Karma scratched the back of his head nervously as he looked away. "Sorry about that, it's been so long since I've practiced that I got a little excited."
"It's fine, it was about time we woke up anyways. How about you join us for breakfast this time?"
"Sure, why don't you let me cook as an apology?"
"You can cook?"
"It's a little skill I picked up a while ago. Nothing much." said Karma honestly.
"Well then, since you can cook, why don't you help Mikoto in the kitchen. She's the one who does all the cooking anyways."
"That is...sure." said Karma as he sighed. "Can I at least bath before I start? I'm feeling a little sweaty."
"Sure."
Karma then proceeded to wash himself for the next half an hour, it had been a while since he had a bath and would have stayed longer if he didn't have to help with breakfast. After he changed he found everyone doing their own thing while Mikoto was busy prepping the ingredients. 'It's fine, I'll just apologize.'
Karma entered the kitchen and picked up a knife and began to work on his own set of ingredients. When he was sure that no one else was listening, Karma turned to face Mikoto and said. "I'm sorry for what what happened yesterday, it wasn't my intention."
Mikoto stopped what she was doing before facing him. "It's not your fault when you didn't know the faculties. Still, I would appreciate it if you didn't tell anyone about what happened."
"That's it? Of course I won't." said Karma with a small smile as he looked straight into her eyes. What he didn't realize was that his eyes were turning purple as his skill [(Vampire's?) Charm] started activating by itself. Mikoto who saw his eyes changing color found herself drawn in by them.
When Karma saw her entering dazed state, he was confused since she was fine just a second ago. It wasn't until he remembered what happened with Ryuu that he closed his eyes and looked away, which seemed to bring Mikoto back to Earth. Karma looked back to see Mikoto cooking again like nothing had ever happened. It wasn't until after a few minutes passed when he heard a small whisper "I'll trust you."
Karma started to smile as he continued whatever he was doing. He didn't even notice Mikoto shifting closer to him and sneaking glances towards him. There was strange atmosphere between the two of them that was picked up by Takemikazuchi.
"Breakfast is ready!" announced Karma as set the food down on the dining table. Everyone was coming to the room and Karma decided to take a seat while Mikoto sat next to him, which again was only noted by Takemikazuchi. He was confused. The reason he had asked Karma to cook with Mikoto was because he had noticed how Karma would react whenever Mikoto was in the same room with him. He wanted them to get closer as a Familia and thought that this would be a great chance. But now it seems like they're closer than ever, what could have happened?
Meanwhile Karma was thinking about his unique skill (brainwashing ability). He realized it had a bigger effect on Mikoto than it did with Ryuu. 'Is this because of the difference in strength? Then what would happen with someone weaker? No I shouldn't think like that, but I wonder...'
After breakfast finished Karma trying to take his dish to the sink when someone stopped him from doing so. It was Takeshi. "Those who don't cook wash the dishes, please pass your plate."
"Oh okay." said Karma as he handed him his plate. Karma then turned to face Takemikazuchi and asked in a sincere tone. "Takemikazuchi sama, can you please help me with my sword practice?"
"Why, I'm sure your skill is very powerful."
"You see, I only have my special moves, and all of them are for killing. So I want increases my skill set."
"That's good but I'm afraid I'll only be able to help you tomorrow."
"That's fine, thank you very much" said Karma with a smile on his face that surprised everyone present. "Well then please excuse me." said Karma as he left the room. He didn't notice how Mikoto seemed to be contemplating something.
