Chapter 10: The Reality of the Dream

Ash went back to her apartment and slumped down on her bed.

"Today was a long and tiring day indeed", she sighed.

And she drifted off to sleep.

She found herself in a completely different world. Large gates stood as the entrance. They read "Welcome to the Parallel Cosmos."

Was there a world like that? Ash had never heard of it. She entered the gates, and found herself in a completely different place.

Human like beings and monsters, all existed. The world was brimming with unnatural energy, the so called superpowers.

"Wow, this place is amazing!" Ash looked at the glimmering sky.

She saw tall houses, particularly the traditional ones, covering the town, unlike hers which was only covered with modernized buildings.

She looked at the food stalls covering the place.

The rivers glistened in the dark background. The whole place looked breathtaking.

As she moved forwards, she noticed a dark forest. Intrigued, she entered it.

Thick vines covered the trees. Fireflies flew all around.

"It's pretty!" Ash exclaimed.

She could feel hot air behind her back. As she turned around, she stood face to face with a huge snake.

"A monster!" Ash's eyes widened.

The monster was huge. With around a 100 meter long body, it covered the whole area where she was standing.

"How should I escape?" Ash was scared. The only weapon she could see fit to use was a log of wood lying beside her.

She picked it up and yelled at the monster. "Go away or I'll kill you!"

The monster hissed and made a jab at her. She leaped to the side in an attempt to doge, but bruised her left leg.

"Shit!"

As the monster came towards her, she tried getting up, but couldn't.

She shut her eyes and screamed for help.

Someone held her by the waist and pushed her to the side. She opened one eye and saw a boy holding her down to protect her.

"Who are you?" she asked.

"No time to waste, more people are coming to help, we heard your scream. This area is out of limits, how did you even enter this in the first place?" He pulled her up and held her while dodging the monster's attacks.

He ran towards an old tree with full speed.

"You're going to get us both killed!" She screamed.

They teleported to the outside of the town, where the gates were situated.

Her vision blurred and the last thing she could see was the boy's face.
