Derrick was battling with all his might to stay conscious, as he knew that not eating the troll's meat would be his end.

It was the first time since leaving the cave that he had made such a huge mistake.

While laying on top of the carcass, he then gingerly grabbed his small carving knife before stabbing the corpse's torso and trying to carve a piece out of it.

As long as he could get it in his mouth, he'd be fine.

Meanwhile, Io had once again been a victim of its heroics, immediately returning to Derrick's shadow as the collision had simply been too violent for the creature to survive the impact.

Drako and Cernunnos had also suffered the same fate, now resting and encouraging the necromancer to stay awake.
