Chapter 24: | part 22

Namjoon and Jungkook decided to go to a small café, bodyguards included but they decided to stand a few meters beside so it wouldn't cause as much attention. Of course they were close enough to "defend" if someone interacted.

The members had sunglasses and caps on but the most important thing was the small café they had chosen. It was in a small alley and didn't look inviting, so people wouldn't come there. On the inside it looked really friendly actually, it had pillows and benches made out of light brown wood. A few cats ran around and sometimes, they sat on the laps of the strangers, if those allowed it that was.

Namjoon enjoyed the cats a lot, they made him feel home. He had a feeling of loneliness ever since the woman had left him. Sometimes, it got worse. Like now.

Last night, he barely slept. At first Yoongi and Jin noticed and talked to him about it. But they eventually fell asleep while their leader stayed awake trying to figure out what to do.

And at 5 am he decided he had no chance of falling asleep anymore and went outside. Then, just a few minutes later Jungkook came.

Jungkook didn't know what to say. He realized that he had been so busy with his own stuff and stories that he didn't even know that his hyung had been dating someone for months.

He felt bad. He was so caught up with everything that happened around himself, he didn't notice the problems of the other members (except Taehyung and Jimin).

"What do you think about him?", Namjoon said and nodded at a guy who sat at a table in a corner.

Jungkook looked at him.

Black hair, headphones on, glasses. From their distance, he could tell that the guy was reading a book.

A nerd?

"Hmm, no."

"Anyone else in here?"

Jungkook looked around.

There was a guy standing behind the counter and another one next to him.

One had light brown hair, a glimpse of silver in it, his eyes seemed dark, his clothing style was colorful, some brown and some green tones.

"Him", the maknae replied.

"Which one?"

"The good-looking one. At the right."

"He looks like Taehyung", Namjoon said and took a sip of his espresso. Jungkook felt his body gaining heat and his cheeks getting warmer.

Namjoon was right.

"Really? I think Tae looks different."

"Well, no, watch his clothes, his hair.."

Jungkook didn't reply.

"What is your type?", he then asked the older to get the attention away from himself. It was weird to talk to his hyung about this kinda stuff. They normally talked a lot about business and life but never about relationships.

Jungkook wanted to change that.

Based on the question, Namjoon pulled his phone out of his pocket and looked through his camera roll.

As he turned the phone around it showed a photo of a woman wearing a small hat, having a happy smile and dyed brown hair. Her eyes were crinkling up and she had a backpack over her shoulder. A red scarf around her neck and a necklace underneath.

Some long light blue pants and a white shirt.

She was really pretty.

"Is that-"

Namjoon nodded. "Yes. She's pretty right?" He smiled.

"And she is really smart. If we had a whole day of time, we'd go to museums and she would tell me everything about her most favorite sculpture or painting. And maybe we would go to a park just to be around bird noises and we would lay down in the grass and have a picnic."

Jungkook watched him talk about it and he saw the sparkles in his eyes. That must be love. He felt so incredibly sad to know that they separated just yesterday.

Maybe they could get back together sometime. When the tour was over. But their life wouldn't change so fast. There will be another album and another tour and their schedules wouldn't get any less busy.

Could their relationship handle it, knowing that they already broke up once because of that?

Just theoretically, would Taehyung and him be able to go through that? Since they'd be touring together.. they'd see each other everyday, whether they had busy schedules or not.

Just saying.

"How's your new song going by the way? You're supposed to submit it soon right?"

Shit, he was right. Jungkook still hadn't finished the song. Everything just kind of blurred after all these interactions between him and Taehyung. He really didn't know what to think about it.

"Do you want help?"

Help would be nice.

Jungkook nodded.

"Okay so, where are you at right now?"

"Pre-chorus, but I already have the part after the chorus. I just need something that kicks you know."

"Maybe some high notes?"

"Yeah."

"What is it about anyway?"

"More like who-", Jungkook said without thinking.

"Oh. Who. So who is it about then?", Namjoon asked with a smirk.

"No one, forget it."

"It's Lucas isn't it?"

Well, no. But maybe Jungkook was able to get the attention away from Tae and him. He didn't necessarily think that Namjoon would disapprove of Jungkook having feelings for someone inside the band. Or maybe to be even dating someone inside the band...

But, he didn't want to risk anything especially since Taehyung and him hadn't talked it about it.

But, you don't kiss your friends on the mouth, do you?

Except maybe friends with benefits.

Is that what they were?

No, that wouldn't make any sense. Not for himself at least.

You don't get nervous or super excited with friends with benefits.

But maybe Taehyung didn't think like that.

Maybe all Jungkook was for Taehyung was- a distraction? Maybe Tae was just bored.

No, Jungkook knew his hyung better than that. Taehyung doesn't play with hearts and feelings.

He might not always know what do to with them but he would never mistreat them, not on purpose at least.

And if he didn't care about Jungkook, he wouldn't have asked to kiss him, he would have just done it.

"Are you done thinking or should I give you some more minutes?"

"What?"

"The one who your song is about. Is it Lucas or not?"

"Y-yes. It's about Lucas."

Jungkook immediately regretted saying that.

But now it was done. And now Namjoon wouldn't notice anything.

"I thought you said he isn't your type."

Uhhh- shit.

"Well, yeah, but he's nice. I don't know my type, I've told you that before."

"All right, whatever you say."

He just wanted to slap himself. Such an idiot.

"We should go back, the others are probably awake already."

"Okay, let me pay first", Namjoon said and went to the counter.

After they arrived back at the hotel and the maknae had opened the door, he found a Kim Taehyung still sound asleep in a bed that was a whole mess.

Pillows were laying on the floor, the blanket didn't even cover half of his body anymore, his hands held onto the sheet of Jungkook's side.

"Hey", Jungkook whispered and kneeled in front of the bed.

"Hey hey hey", he said again.

"Wake uuuup", his soft voice repeated.

Tae mumbled something.

"What did you say? Taeee. Taehyungssi."

Taehyung turned away from the younger.

"Tae. Tae. Tae. Tae-"

"Shut up, I'm awake", the older groaned.

Jungkook giggled. "Good."

"Mmmm, what time is it?"

"5:39 am."

Taehyung sighed.

"Why are you dressed?"

"Uh shouldn't I be?", Jungkook asked and raised his eyebrows.

"No, gosh, Jungkook I- I didn't mean it like that. Why are you already dressed, does that sound better?"

"No, but I get it. Lucas called me and asked to grab coffee."

"You don't even like coffee."

"I know. I didn't meet him though, Namjoon was already awake too so instead I went with him to a little café somewhere."

"Oh."

"Yeah."

"What time did you wake up?"

"5", Jungkook said and stood up.

"Is the hickey still there?"

The maknae smiled.

"Yes. A little bit."

"Does it bother you?, Tae asked carefully.

"No."

"Can I see?"

Jungkook pulled his hoodie to the side.

"There. It is pretty light actually. For a hickey."

Taehyung sat up to take a closer look.

"How does it feel? Does it hurt?"

"It doesn't hurt, it feels like my normal skin. I wouldn't even know, if I couldn't see it."

The older trailed his fingers over Jungkook's skin. So soft.

"It's pretty light. I'm surprised it even stayed through the night", Jungkook said again.

"You want a darker one?", Taehyung said jokingly.

"No, I'm good", Jungkook laughed.

There was still a question burning on his tongue.

What were they?

The rest of the day the members sat together and wrote lyrics.

After such long hours, the management allowed them to go out into the city after the sun set.

They were gonna fly back home first thing in the morning, so they only had a few hours left until they had to go to the airport.

Jungkook was thinking about going out with Lucas one last time.

Jimin, Taehyung and Jin went together somewhere else and since Namjoon wanted to be alone, Jhope and Yoongi stuck together.

Of course everyone had to take at least one bodyguard with them. After Taehyung's rooftop story, Bighit set up a few new rules.

"Why isn't Jungkook with us?"

"He wanted to meet Lucas again."

"And you're okay with that?", Jimin asked.

Jin's face gave a questioning look.

Not good, Tae thought. He needed to calm things down.

"Why wouldn't I be?"

Now that wasn't too honest.

"You seemed to be pretty against it the first time."

"That was only because he was a stranger."

Lie.

"I gotta say you acted like you guys were dating", Jin said casually.

"And we had to cut a lot from the RunBTS episode because of your fighting."

"It won't happen again", was all Taehyung said.

"It better won't. Anyway, we have a bit of time left, so what do you guys think about visiting the Empire State building?"

"Sure-"

"Yes!"

A taxi brought them directly in front of the building but they had to take two cars for each of their bodyguards. Jimin shared a car with his and jin and tae shared a taxi together where their two bodyguards attended the drive as well.

"Let's go up", Jin said as they stood in front of it and looked up to the insane height of the big building.

"Hell no-"

"No cursing, we're in public!"

"Sorry hyung, but I don't wanna go up. I'm scared of heights remember?"

"Ok ok fine. Jimin?"

"I don't know about this hyung. It's pretty high."

Jin rolled his eyes. "Whatever, I'll go alone then. But if you dare to run away while I'm gone, be sure to get skinned when I find you afterwards", the oldest said and walked (with his bodyguard by his side) through the first door.

"So", Jimin said.

"So?", Taehyung asked.

"Are you sure you don't mind Jungkook seeing Lucas again?"

"Why would you bring that up?", Tae groaned.

"So you do mind?"

"Yes, I mind. But he's told me that they're just friends and he can do what he wants anyway."

"He even clarified it?"

"Yes."

"Ooohhhh-"

"Stop."

"So did something else happen last night?"

They walked over to a bench and sat down.

"Why?"

"Oh just..", Jimin pointed to his own neck.

"You saw that??"

"Duh, I'm not blind", he smirked.

"So what did you do? Did you-"

"No! No. No, we didn't."

"Why not?"

"Jesus, Jimin, we're not even dating!"

"Really?"

"We did kiss..."

Jimin smiled.

"You don't kiss your casual friends on the mouth right?"

"I wouldn't say so."

"Then what are we?", Taehyung frowned.

"Boy-fri-ends?"

"Wow!"

"Yeah, I guess."

"No look! There's someone jumping from the building!"

"Oh my god! Wait, is that Jin? WHAT THE HELL IS HE DOING??"

"He's bungee jumping!", Taehyung laughed.
