Chara watched as Frisk too charge in defeating the monster non-violently. Chara then narrowed their eyes to the dancing bug as it stated, "Swing your arms, baby~". Chara then rolled their eyes and scoffed in response, "You've got to be joking...Come on Frisk, lets just-- Uh..." Chara peaked over to Frisk to see them actually dancing to their own beat as the bug commanded. Quickly the child's jaw dropped and they quickly turned away holding in their laughter with a single loud snort. When it was all finished, the white barrier that trapped them in battle was lifted as Frisk won the battle without having to flee or kill anyone. "Hmph. Well aren't you a little adamant." Chara complimented. Though, the child's compliment could be taken in multiple ways. Chara was always rough around the edges; blunt, but honest.
"Hehe." Sans' chuckled out of amusement of what just took place with the human sparing the monsters. "Gees. I guess I was just wrong about the kid after all..Oh well. Might as well pay it a visit." After Sans' statement, he instantly vanished. Chara looked around the area, then to the bridge. "Okay. Something's wrong here. Where's the comedia-AHH!" in a blink of an eye, in the middle of Chara's sentence, the big-boned skeleton appeared in a flash right behind Frisk. Of course, Sans couldn't hear nor see Chara, so he had his eye sockets on only the blue sweater-wearing human was just about to cross the bridge. "Hey buddy. You know how to greet a new pal? Come on now, turn around and shake my hand." Sans pulled out his left bone hand from his pocket as he extended it. Waiting for the human to fall for the ol' whoopy cushion handshake trick.
Chara on the other hand growled in anger at Sans, "I'LL TEAR YOU RIB FROM RIB!" it didn't take much for Chara to get startled, only because their guard was let down to the sudden change in his timing...and location. Why is the timeline all of a sudden different this time?! Chara instantly vanished without another word. Leaving Frisk to feed into the comedians' little tricks and jokes.
Frisk held back the laughter when Chara had been startled by the Comedian's sudden appearance. It was expected, Sans had made a promise to protect humans and if not given a reason to kill the Human and break the promise, he would make himself clear. Though Chara was onto something, something was different and very strange. It wasn't like the other timeline. Does this guy remember? Frisk's left hand began to shake slightly as they looked down at their hand as Sans spoke. Tears were forming? Taking a deep breath, Frisk wiped their eyes with their right before turning around and looking up at the Sans which they were almost matching in height, though Sans was just a bit taller.
With Chara now gone, Frisk just looked up at the skeleton and smiled ever so slightly, but the plain and stoic expression remained. Shake his hand? Frisk's eyes wandered down towards the hand which was extended, San's left hand. He was left handed. He drank Ketchup with his left hand, he shook with his left hand, all evidence pointed towards that. Suddenly the kid pushed air into the upper area of their lips and released it while keeping them tight together, making a high pitch farting sound just as they gripped Sans left hand with their own which by now was shivering since well... They weren't exactly wearing much in terms of preparation for snow. "You sure... Have a skele-ton of bones," the child punned as they shook the hand despite the whoopy cushion present, continuing to hold a straight face while doing so.
Just as Frisk grasped onto his hand, igniting the whoopy cushions high pitched fat noise, sans' pupils went hallow as he allowed the sound to ring in the air. Once it was finished, he chuckled. The white pupils appearing back into his eye sockets as he looked down to the human. "Hehehe! The good ol' whoopy cushion. It never gets old." He then looked down to his hand, feeling the human's hand trembling before they spoke. Oh a pun?! Sans' eye sockets widened with joy. Hehehe! Good one, kid! Gees. To actually meet someone past that old door who takes an interests in puns? I couldn't ask for anything better! Anyways. My name's Sans. Sans the skeleton." allowing the human to shake his hand as he'd motion the same way. "So you're a human huh? That's hilarious..because I'm actually suppose to keep watch for humans to come through here. However, I don't really care about catching anyone. Well, my brother on the other hand. He's a human hunting machin-- Oh.. I think that's him coming now." Looking over the human as he can see Papyrus approaching them from the distance. Most likely checking on Sans to make sure he's not slacking on the job.
"Uhhhh, you know what! I got an idea. Let's cross this bridge." Since Sans was already on the bridge, he decided to already cross it just before Frisk. "Come on, don't worry about the 'gate'. My bro made the bars to wide to keep anything out, hehe!"
"Fris-- uh. Never mind." Chara was going to ask Frisk a question, but it's best to stay quiet and just observe. Chara sensed something amiss with this whole timeline. It's just off order. Yes, it's only small details, but Chara believed in the butterfly effect. Trying to think further back where the changes started, and they finally realized what it was. Chara's eye widened. "Me?" Chara thought. No. There has to be an error that occurred just under their nose. Whatever it was, or is, it's too late to go back now. Chara stayed hidden from sight; closing them self off from Frisk and Sans for now so they could observe and contemplate on their situation.
Blinking a few times when he had liked the whole fact that the Frisk had used a pun, the child blushed slightly seeing they made the skeleton happy. Nodding lightly to the introduction, Frisk would tilt their head to the side listening to what they were saying. It was a near exact repeat of last time, but they were creating small errors. Chara wasn't alone to notice the fact that things were off, though only by a little. Though these errors might be good, in some form or another. With the urge to break down due to the presence of Sans, the one whom they hurt the most, Frisk would walk after them across the bridge. Though as soon as he finished telling them to not worry about the gate and that the brother made the bars too wide, Frisk did the unexpected.
Having enough with the cold of the forest which hadn't gotten to Frisk prior, they quickly in a swift lunge, sprung up beneath San's jacket and wrapped their arms around the skeleton. A rather settling smile coming across the child's face as they were greeted by the warmth which was trapped beneath. It was so fluffy inside and soft despite the fact that Sans himself was a skeleton. Frisk even began to nuzzle their face into his spine slightly, trying ever so hard to match their legs with Sans in order to... Somewhat hide from the Brother. Personally, Frisk thought this was a better place to hide than that conveniently placed lamp. Now, how would this big ole comedian respond?
Just as Sans and Frisk crossed the bridge, he was just about to point out the lamp near-by for the human to hide behind. But suddenly, the human's body was now rubbing up against his back! A low shrieked escaping past his teeth as the white pupils disappeared from his eye sockets. "What are yo-- TSK!" he quickly felt the child's head rubbing against his spine. His cheek bones growing hotter as he quickly stiffed his question to himself. He need to give this situation a conclusion. Well, it was cold, and the kid barely had anything but a sweater on.
"Sans! Papyrus stated as he was drawing in close to the two. Sans was again gave a low shriek as he could feel the human trying to hide their legs behind his own. "Oh gees, kid..." he mumbled to himself trying to stiff in a laugh. Papyrus would easily notice if he looked down at Sans, so he quickly placed his hood on so that Frisk's head was covered and pulled their legs up to straddle his back from the inside. Looking at Sans now, he would look more chubby than usual. Papyrus finally arrived. "Ahhh! I'm so proud to see you up and not sleeping Sans!"
"Heh, of course bro!" he stated with a few beads of sweat forming on his forehead.
"Hm? Oh my, Sans. Did you put on some weight?" Papyrus asked as he eased in observing Sans' body. Sans' white pupils quickly faded as he chuckled. "Uhhh, yeah! It's that new ketchup brand we bought, ya know. I didn't think to read the fine print.."
"Hmm...Then we should probably put you on a diet before a human drops to the underground. You'll need all your strength to keep the humans at bay with my amazing puzzles! So don't worry! I, the great Papyrus, will be sure to get you back into shape, brother!"
"Heh. I'm sure I can easily 'drop' some of this weight if you know what I mean.." of course, a little insider for Frisk to get a chuckle. As for Papyrus, he arched his eye socket in question.
"Oh god, Sans was that supposed to be a pun?!" Sans only shrugged his shoulder as if playing innocent. "Hmph...Very well. I see nothing new..other than your sudden weight, has occurred here. So I shall check the south wing of Snowdin, brother. Just stay here in case a human is to show up, okay? And...no more puns. They seem to get worse each passing day." he rubbed the ridge of his nose and turned his back to Sans. Walking off into the distance.
Sans released a relieving sigh. Slowly taking the hood off as he only took a peak at the human in the corner of his eye socket.
"What? No dinner first? Heh." he teasing asked before finding himself walking towards the empty stand. As he walked behind it, a stash of old magazines, comics, and empty ketchup bottles were laying on the shelf. He reached into his pocket as he pulled out a full bottle of ketchup. Almost about to take a sip, he shifted back to the human and hummed. "Hmm...So what should I call ya, anyways? "
