Chapter 2: ONE: THERE'S A PRINCESS ONE: THERE'S A PRINCESS

*tok tok*
"Miss Faith pinapatawag na po kayo sa dining hall para sa breakfast."
"Sige po nanny, tatapusin ko lang po ang pagb-blowdry nitong buhok ko." sagot ko kay Nanny Imelda habang pinapatuyo ang buhok kong basa pa dahil katatapos ko lang maligo.
Hinayaan kong nakalugay ang buhok, its like a wave freely moving from the horizon to the shore. My sleek and long hair is one of my assets na namana ko sa lola ko pa.
"Good morning darling." Mom greeted and she kiss me on my cheeks as she arrange the utensils on our dining table. Even though we have househelps but still mom is very cautious and hands on kaya she still involve herself in preparing for meals.
"Goodmorning sweetie." Dad said and kiss my cheeks and mom's at naupo sa may kabisera. The helpers served him some coffee and he scan on the tabloid prepared for him as he sip on his coffess and took a bite from his french toast.
"How's school darling?" Mom asked as she sliced her pancake and sip on her juice and gave me a sweet smile. This is a typical morning where my parents are checking on me, breakfast is very important for us kasi ito lang talaga ang sure na magkakasama kaming kumain.
"It's fine mom. Still the same, school is stressful but still it gives me the desire to do better for the future." I said and ate my food.
"Just don't push yourself too much sweetie okay? We're counting on you but we don't want you to be pressured okay. As long as you're fine then we're fine too." Dad said as he give me a warm smile.
I love my family. They really treat me like a doll, a princess, a royalty. I don't know why, pero simula bata pa ako I really am growing with a silver spoon on my mouth. Laki sa luho and stuffs. My parents provide me with everything I need, material stuffs, love and affection, time.
Nanny Imelda handed me a tissue and I wipe my mouth after eating. I smiled at mom and dad at nagpaalam na aakyat na ako para maghanda papuntang school. I check my bag kung nailagay ko na ba ang lahat ng kailangan ko para mamaya sa klase before going to my walk-in closet and put on my uniform.
I grab my bag and went downstairs, nakita ko si mom na kakalabas lang sa kusina. Bumaba na rin si dad dala ang coat niya at ang suitcase na may laman ng mga case files na kailangan niyang ireview. Nakaparada na sa may main entrance ang sasakyan namin. Mom walk us until the front door and kiss my cheeks dad's lips and bid goodbye for the day. She waved at us as dad started driving.
Pagdating ko sa school ay bigla akong sinalubong ng bestfriend kong si Theresse. She clung her arms on my left arm as she happily skip. She's really in a good mood huh?
"Faith!" she screamed in so much joy. She's really hyper, I wonder why, where and how she got that energy from.
She pinched my arms, nanggigigil. "Aray! Masakit Theresse." I said, totoo rin naman kasi. "Sorry, I got carried away. Haha. Pero kasi Faith, kinikilig ako. Ni add ako ni Joseph kagabi and even followed me on Instagram and Twitter. Gosh! Teach me how to breathe please." She said and fan herself as if she's really running out of it.
"OA mo talaga." I said just to piss her a little, she frowned and stomp her feet like a kid throwing a fit. Napailing nalang ako at natawa sa kanya. "Pero Faith, kinikilig talaga ako. AAAAAAAAAAA. Saan magandang magpakasal, reception at magandang hotel for honeymoon?" she asked with twinkling eyes. "Really Theresse? Kasal agad? Nafollow kalang sa IG at twitter?" Iba rin trip nitong kaibigan ko.
"Capital D-U-H para sa iyo Faith! Porket may gwapo kang masugid na manliligaw babaliin mo na ang pakpak ko. I need to soar high, fly above the sky and make Joseph mine." she said at inirapan ako. Napatawa nalang ako sa inasal niya.
Paakyat na kami sa floor namin pero kung kanina naglupasay na sa kilig si Theresse dahil sa kwento niya ngayon para na siyang uod na binudburan ng asin. Impit ang tili, kilig na kilig.
"Goodmorning beautiful." Ayan, kota na sa kilig itong si Theresse. Joseph was waiting at the stairway just to greet her and handed her a box of chocolates. She was really smiling from ear to ear but still that demure effect. Nakakatawa talaga siya, amazona siya for real pero naging Maria Clara pag kaharap na si Joseph.
"Got to go now, take care always beautiful." Tapos nagwink pa iyong Joseph sa kanya. Wala na magwawala na ito in 3, 2, 1.
"FAITH!!!! Nakita mo iyon. Ang aga-aga pa pero sagad na ang kilig na naramdaman ko. Kompleto na ang araw ko. Pwede na akong mamatay." Naku, kung anu-ano talaga naiisip nito. "Pero joke lang, di pa ako pwedeng mamatay kasi papakasalan pa ako ni Joseph at bubuo ng pamilya." She said with matching heart pa sa mga mata niya. Hinila ko nalang siya papasok sa room namin kasi nawawala na naman siya sa sarili niya.

Natapos narin ang morning class namin. Niligpit ko ang mga gamit ko at nag-unat narin kasi ilang oras din kaming straight na nakaupo habang titig lang sa board at sa presentations ng mga lectures.
"Faith tara sa canteen, leche ginutom ako sa Physics. Di ko na nga naintindihan tapos gutom na gutom pa ako. Mygosh!" Hinila niya ako palabas sa room na may pahawak-hawak pa sa noo niya na parang stress na stress daw ba. Nagsisimula na naman po siya sa kadramahan niya sa buhay at dinadamay na naman ako.
Pagkarating namin sa canteen marami-rami narin ang tao pero di pa gaano mahaba ang pila para makabili ng luch.
"Isang large burger with double patty please then isang soda at a cup of strawberry ice cream." Napatulala ako sa order ni Theresse. Gosh! Kinalabit ko siya. "Aren't you on a diet? Bakit ang greasy ng order mo plus soda and ice cream?" I asked kasi she keeps on whining na kailangan niya raw mag diet kasi ganito ganyan but her choice of food right now is beyond her 'golden rule'.
Inirapan niya ako, "there's always an exemption Faith. Cheat day ko ngayon. Dinugo ang utak ko ngayon, kung puro kilig lang sana mula kay Joseph mararanasan ko ngayon kahit hindi pa ako kumain eh." Naserve na ang orders niya at ako naman ang pumili ng order ko.
"Carbonara, clubhouse sandwich at isang mango shake po." My order was serve in a short while at naupo na kami sa malapit na table. Agad niyang nilantakan ang pagkain niya at walang pakialam sa paligid niya, super stressed ba talaga siya to act that way? Hay naku, minsan di ko rin mabasa itong bestfriend ko.
"Excuse me, can I share with you?" Napatingin ako sa biglang nagsalita and it was Mark. "Sure." I smile and he took the spot beside me. Bigla namang ngumawa si Theresse.
"Ba't dito ka pa nakitable Mark?" Pinagtaasan pa siya ng kilay ni Theresse. "Nanadya ka ba? Alam mong single pa ako at plano mo pa sa harapan ko manligaw sa bestfriend ko? Respeto naman o!" Pagmamaktol pa niya.
"OA mo naman." sabi ko sa kanya at pinagtawanan lang siya ni Mark. "Anong nakakatawa ha. May nakakatawa ba sa sinabi ko?" Hindi siya pinansin ni Mark, sa halip kinuha niya ang table napkin at pinunasan ang gilid ng labi ko dahil may bakas ng mayonaise. "Umm thanks." he smiled at me and continue sipping at his soda. Theresse just snorted and I gave her a laugh.

The final bell rang and all of my classmates immediately ran out of the room. May ibang diretso sa club nila and orgs, may mga meeting. Theresse my bestfriend was standing at the doorway, focused on her phone, smiling so wide. I wonder ano na naman kaya ang pinagkakaabalahan niya.
I tap her shoulder as a signal na pwede na kaming umuwi. "Faith look at this." She said and para na siyang may epilipsi. Gosh! I really can't imagine myself being like her. Like really! I took a peek at her phone and Joseph like her recent post in Instagram and he also leave a comment saying how beautiful she is and the flowery compliments.
Pinabayaan ko nalang siya at niyaya na siyang mag-abang sa may student's park na malapit lang sa parking space.
"Shake for your thoughts?" ang bulto ni Mark ang nakita ko sa harap namin na may hawak na dalawang bote ng shake, a mango shake and strawberry.
"Thanks."
"May nagawa ka ring maganda ngayon Mark kahit di mo parin ako nirerespto na single ako. Like DUH, Mark!" Inirapan niya ito at hinablot ang shake. "Anyway, thanks." she said at nagbalik na naman ang atensyo sa phone.
"So how was your day?" he asked while looking at me with twinkling eyes. Ilang taon narin niya akong nililigawan and he never failed to make me feel loved.
"Sorry if wala akong sweet surprise for today, na busy lang sa mga paperworks." He said na para bang disappointed sa sarili niya. I tap his shoulder saying na its alright.
"I understand Mark, di lang naman sa akin umiikot ang mundo mo and besides we're also studying so we have priorities at school too." I said and smiled at him assuring him that its really alright.
I look straight again but I can still feel his fancy gaze at me. The way he stare at me makes me feel how he really admire me.
We heard a beep and I saw our family car. I gathered my things at nagpaalam na sa kanila. I kiss Theresse's cheeks at nagpaalam na. "Bye Theresse, see you tomorrow."
"Mark thanks for the shake, see you tomorrow." I wave at him and he waved back and smile. "Take care Faith." then I went inside our car.
I am Shary Faith Romes and I'm very thankful aside from having a nice family, also a friend like Theresse and also I have Mark. This is a complete fairytale and I can't even ask for more. Having them is more than just enough.
