Chapter 9: Inner Darkness Part 3
The doors opened and inside, a majestic scene appeared in which a gigantic hall was revealed. If one were to measure it then it would be the approximate size of a soccer field, and inside was a beautiful white pillars made of porcelain rose that can be seen on the sides of the place giving a feeling to anyone who entered that they were in a sacred temple.
The most striking of all this was that in the center of the room, a large white pyramid could be seen about 20 meters high in which each level to the function of a step. At the top of it was a great golden throne whose brightness seemed to overshadow everything else on the spot, and sitting on the throne was a figure that could be seen as white as snow whose face was covered with a veil that reached her nose. The only thing that could be seen were her thin lips that had the tone color of a cherry, and anyone who looks at them would not doubt for a moment that it was a very beautiful woman who remained motionless on that throne while her face slightly tilted to note that she was watching the events below her.
Without realizing it, Raiko had walked until he was a few meters away from the steps of that pyramid. What man would not have been momentarily hypnotized by witnessing that heavenly moment? Coming back to his senses, he noticed that right at the base of that striking construction stood Aeris, still wearing his dark armor, looking at him with an expectant gaze, which led Raiko to bow hurriedly and exclaim in a firm voice, "Raiko, greet the imperial consultant and commander Aeris".
To which Aeris replied, "Raiko, you have been brought here because you are the only witness of what happened in Oasis and it is a matter of utmost importance for the security of the winged empire and so Lady Angelica, the imperial consultant has been asked to verify the veracity of your words. If you have hidden something you will be executed and in case your innocence is proven then you will be given a reward of Denarii for the information you have provided us. I ask you not to resist the interrogation".
After listening to what Aeris had to say, he only nodded his head in approval and considered it kind enough that he was being treated as a guest and even rewarded for the information of the events that took place even though he was a slave. Actually at this moment he could no longer consider himself one, after all he had no owner and it could be said that he won his freedom by surviving that calamity.
A sweet voice echoed throughout the room, that feminine voice had an extremely soothing tone and surely anyone who heard her speak would be enchanted by her voice, and regardless of the mood would end up relaxing to a rather high degree.
"Sir Raiko please sit on the floor."
With a growing sense of tranquility the young man in black quickly obeyed sitting on the floor in a lotus position.
"Look at me," that sweet voice said and as if he was hypnotized, Raiko's crimson eyes looked directly at the face of that mysterious woman who with her delicate hands lifted the veil, and it was something that left Raiko completely shocked, because the Imperial Consultant was actually a cyclops. On top of her nose, only one eye could be seen, which was several times larger than the usual size but did not overshadow the perfection of her facial features. That single eye possessed beautiful features, long and pronounced eyelashes and a sparkle that gave Lady Angelica an unparalleled exotic beauty.
The captivating eye had a deep emerald hue exactly the tone of the castle walls which only highlighted its brilliance, captivating Raiko. After appreciating it for a few moments, everything became dark....
A site of total darkness welcomed his eyes, it was a place that he can't see anything except for only two things. One of them was a female silhouette which shone with a faint green glow and with just her body shape you could tell that it was a young woman wearing a simple white dress and whose face was covered with a white veil which seemed to direct her gaze a few meters to Raiko who was glowing faintly with a white glow.
Raiko seemed to not have noticed the presence of his companion, he was absorbed playing with some red threads that seemed to come out of his red fingers, these threads of blood formed different geometric figures changing rapidly from some simple ones like a sphere or a cube to some more complicated ones like a perfectly symmetrical dodecahedrons, he seemed to give the impression of a child with a new toy.
"Hello Raiko, sorry for my intrusion but there's something I must ask you... Did you have anything to do with the massacre in Oasis City?" The sweet voice of that female silhouette echoed throughout the place as if coming from every direction and every corner.
The threads disappeared from Raiko's hand who looked up to meet the imperial consultant, face to face and his voice echoed throughout the place in the same way as Lady Angelica's, "I had nothing to do with it, it was the skeleton army that did it... Miss you should not be in this place, you should leave before he realizes it".
"Who is he?" asked Lady Angelita as an uneasy feeling began to creep into her heart, a feeling of discomfort that had unknowingly made her nervous.
"Azter," Raiko replied calmly as he turned his attention back to his fingers which again were manipulating the threads into all sorts of complicated shapes changing as fast as they formed. As he did this the aura of the place began to change, it was something hard to explain, it was as if the darkness was deepening, and the wide area was becoming smaller in an oppressive way.
With a rush as if she didn't want to stay a second longer in the place, a female voice was heard, "Those skeletons.... Did they have a green glow in their eyes?"
Without responding verbally Raiko nodded his head at which the female figure began to fade into nothingness. A voice similar to Raiko's but with a colder, more guttural tone that would send shivers down anyone's spine echoed, "You enter people's subconscious and leave without saying goodbye? How rude of you."
Lady Angelica was surprised to hear a voice because she noticed that at some point Raiko's crimson eyes had been replaced by a black color as deep as the surroundings that covered the entirety of his eyes.
Azter had a sinister smile plastered on his face, observing how the figure in front of him become dimmer and dimmer as if it was about to disappear then his right arm changed at some point and now looked more like a red tentacle which gave the sensation of being liquid and viscous but also seemed to be something solid. It shot at a high speed until it reached the neck of that figure of bluish glow, who upon being surprised by the attack could not defend herself and that tentacle that had the thickness of the arm of an average person circled twice around her neck with an extraordinary precision as if it were a whip, beginning to tighten. Immediately the Cyclops tried to remove that red rope that was suffocating her but to her surprise, the moment she tried to grab it with her hands and unwrap it from her neck, the feeling of grabbing a water flowed through her white hands and continued squeezing and cutting the flow of her air more and more.
That figure from which that reddish line on the woman's neck appeared to be appreciated with delight because of the scene in front of him and he laughed in a way that would seem sadistic then he couldn't help but say,
"Since you've come....Don't you want stay...forever?"
In the hall Aeris contemplated the scene in front of him, Raiko was sitting on the floor a few feet away from him which seemed to have fallen into a meditative state.
The commander of the fifth legion knew that this was because the imperial consultant was a person who was born with a mutant plasma which allowed her to enter the deepest parts of people's subconscious and be able to interact with one's true self. The true self knew no lies and in the people's subconsciousness exists all facts and nothing else. There could even be bits of information that a person might not be aware of. Moreover, this aspect of a person's brain was the root of all thoughts, so it was easy for Lady Angelica to get an idea of the true nature of people.
