Chapter 684: No culinary skill

Ryn was deep in her thought when her phone rang. It was not Jeremy but Mika. She purposedly set their numbers to special ringtones to differentiate between those two and others.

At first, she wanted to ignore the call, wanting to bury herself in her misery but she changed her mind.

Mika was just like her big brother; stubborn and insisting. If she did not answer it, Mika would keep on calling and then messaging until she finally received an answer.

She took a deep breath to calm down before she answered the call. She did not want her best friend to know how heartbroken she was right now.

"Hello, Mika," she greeted slowly. She cleared her throat before deciding to fake a cough just in case Mika heard the real emotion in her voice and asked. She could just use the cough as an excuse for her weird voice.

"Are you alright, Ryn?" Mika asked, just as Ryn expected. It did not take long for her best friend to notice something wrong.
