Chapter 17: Demon Lord Seed!? Goodbyes!!
(Rimuru POV)
I feel groggily.
Wait.
How do I feel groggily as a slime?
Well, whatever.
Slowly my senses returned to me and using [Magic Sense], I realized I was in the infirmary in Tempest.
I hop out of the bed I was in, and turn into my human form.
Looking around, I noticed a dark purple cat bandaged up on another bed.
"Lucifer!"
I start to remember what happened, me and Lucifer were fighting Charybdis who was very powerful.
We got caught off guard and I had to kick away Lucifer in order to protect him, but I myself got attacked because of it.
Running over to Lucifer, I place my hand on his furry body.
'[Great Sage] is he okay!?' I worriedly ask Great Sage.
'Yes he is currently stable, he should wake up in a few hours because he seemed to have over-exhausted all his Magicules.' Great sage responded.
I sigh in relief.
'What happened after I was unconscious?' I asked [Great Sage].
'Well as soon as you were knocked ou-....'
After she explained everything, I warmly smile at the slumbering cat.
He seems to have gotten mad for me and went as far as to hurt himself for me as well, but I guess he had no choice in the situation.
I softly pet his fur.
'Does he really like me or is he just joking?' I question [Great Sage] suddenly.
'I am just a skill with no emotion but even I can tell that he likes you based on your memories.' She deadpanned at me.
'What do you mean," based on your memories"?' I questioningly ask.
'In your past, you used to search up things like, "How To Get a Girl?" or "How To Be More Attracti-' I cut off [Great Sage] before she could go any further.
Shut upppp!!
There are people beyond the 4th wall reading this!
'Lord Rimu-'
Shhh!
'No Lord Ri-'
Nopeee!
[Great Sage] kept trying to tell me something but I was over it.
"It seems like someone likes to be handsy." I hear a voice below me.
I look down, dumbstruck at Lucifer's words.
"I didn't know you were into stuff like this. If you want I can go in my human form and stri-"
I throw the cat across the room before he finished.
'[Great Sage]!!'
'You said he would wake up in a few hours!'
*Sigh*
Did I just hear [Great Sage] sigh?
'I was trying to tell you he was waking up earlier than expected but you weren't allowing me to speak.' [Great Sage] replies with its robotic sass.
Oh...
I just nervously chuckle and change the topic.
"Lucifer how many times have I told you, I am not into stuff like that! It's just weird for me!" I sigh and explain to Lucifer again.
"Of course, I'm just joking. You can't take a joke now??" Lucifer replies with a smirk.
For a quick second, I thought I noticed sadness in his eyes but it soon turned back into his normal mischievous glint.
Weird..
I probably didn't see it right.
"Whatever, but thanks for saving my life." I tell him with a smile full of appreciation.
"Yeah, of course, that's who we are." He transforms into his human form and scruffles my hair with his hand since I was basically a midget compared to him.
"Stop it!" I exclaim while pushing his hand off.
"No way!" He replies while laughing.
He starts to chase me around the room for a few minutes trying to pet my hair, we made sure not to destroy the place while we were at it.
"What is happening in here!?"
Shuna opens the door and rushes in with a worried face but it soon turned into relief once she saw us.
Runnning towards us, she hugs both of us at the same time.
"Lord Lucifer! Lord Rimuru! I was so worried for you too!" She told us while holding onto us tightly.
Me and Lucifer just rubbed her back with a smile in order to calm her down, waiting patiently.
Once she realized her blunder she apologized and backed up.
"We missed you guys too even though it wasn't that long." Lucifer replied with a chuckle.
I just roll my eyes but nod at his words.
"Lord Lucifer why are you out of bed!?" Shuna exclaimed, realizing that he just left his bed without healing.
"I'm healed, see." Lucifer showed her how his body healed.
She looks at Lucifer with amazement in her eyes.
I wasn't as surprised, since we both basically have the same healing factor but I still find it crazy.
Because [Great Sage] told me Lucifer's previous body condition after fighting Charybdis and he was critically fucked up in every spot.
"Lord Lucifer you should still be care-" Shuna was trying to tell Lucifer to be careful but he just waved her off.
"Stop worrying so much! I know my own body the best. I have something to check out though, so I'll see yall later. Also, I need to tell you guys something later when I come back." Lucifer stated with a mysterious smile and seemingly disappeared.
"Wai-" Shuna was trying to tell Lucifer to wait but he was already gone, she just sighed.
"It's whatever, your gonna have to get used to his antics at this point. But come on take me to the rest, so I can get a situation report, I'll tell Lucifer to come later." I tell Shuna with a chuckle, used to his antics at this point.
Shuna nods and takes me to meet the rest.
(Lucifer POV)
That was one crazy fight yesterday.
To think I was actually getting my ass whooped that bad.
I chuckle and shake my head.
I'm currently in a good mood because of a certain notification I got when I woke up.

To think I would get a demon seed for defeating Charybdis.
It's as if the world wishes for my success and favors me but I can't let that get into my head.
I need to just focus on what I'm doing currently and once I get stronger where I can understand the [Voice of The World], I'll figure it out, but currently, I'm way too weak.
'Yes!' I mentally accept.
I thought I was gonna get that feeling where you feel intoxicated with power but I felt like nothing has changed with me.
I guess that makes sense, when Rimuru got a Demon Seed from the Orc Lord, he didn't even know until the situation called for him to use it.
I left them behind because I thought something would happen but I was wrong.
Well this is perfect anyways because Demon Seeds are the key to becoming an Awakened Demon Lord, I think it was if you have 10,000 souls, you can evolve.
Perfect!
While I was walking in contemplation, I sense a disturbance in the weather above me.
I look up and see lightning in my face coming down from the sky.
*BOOM!*
It cleared over 100 meters of the forest.
"Ow!"
"This forest would need some insurance if it wasn't made by Magicules, like the amount of damage it suffers is so sad." I wipe a fake tear off my cheek.
But back to the story, I was struck straight down into the ground by the lightning but it wasn't as painful, so I just shrugged it off and got back up, looking around for enemies.
It seemed like no one is here.
Was it just normal lightning?
I think fucking not!
There is no way I was just randomly struck by lightning!
"Wait! Is this gonna give me the Flash's abilities?!" I excitedly ask.
I try running around, even using my Shunpo at full speed but nothing happened.
*Sigh*
I just dejectedly sighed because nothing changed.
I look up at the sky and stick up my middle fingers with both my hands.
"FUCK YOU THUNDER OR LIGHTNING!! AS A MATTER OF FACT, FUCK YOUR MOM-" I was yelling my heart out, but flinched once I saw lightning in the clouds that looked ready to attack me.
"O-okay, maybe I took it too far." I nervously chuckle while running away Jack Sparrow style.
(Narrator POV)
A few days later, it seemed as if Lucifer was leaving.
He was at the gate with nothing but his guns in his straps since he didn't really have anything else he needed.
Everybody was surrounding him saying goodbye, all the ogres, goblins, orcs and even Rimuru were there.
'I convinced Rimuru to hold on about leaving, he wanted to go to and save Shizue's students but I told him to wait until I come back.' Lucifer inwardly thought.
Lucifer seemed to want Rimuru to stay just in case plot changes, he also didn't wanna be in Tempest forever, so he wanted to travel first then after he was done he would let Rimuru go become a teacher for the students.
"You better come back fast so I can go!!" Rimuru exclaimed.
Lucifer told Rimuru it would be dangerous if both of them were gone from Tempest, so they decided only one of them should travel while the other stays.
Lucifer promised Rimuru he would come back fast, around a few months in order to let Rimuru go out too.
"Yeah, yeah." Lucifer just waved him off.
"Bye Lord Lucifer!" Shion exclaimed.
"Have a good time Lord Lucifer!" Shuna also exclaimed.
"Come back safe Lord Lucifer!" Benimaru waved at Lucifer.
"Yes, be safe and have a fun time." Hakuro smiled while waving.
"Yeah have a good time, but if possible bring me back some hot elf bab-!" Gobta was kicked away by Rimuru before he could finish his sentence.
'This bastard almost hinted that we actually went to bar full of elf babes for us, that's the boys spot, we can't let Shuna and Shion hear.' Rimuru whistled awkawardly avoiding eye contact with everyone.
Once everyone finished their goodbyes, Rimuru walked up to Lucifer.
"In all seriousness be safe and send me a thought communication every now and then." Rimuru told him with a slight smile.
"Aww is someone worried." Lucifer stared at Rimuru with a smirk but put his hand out for a fist bump.
Rimuru just rolled his eyes.
"Of course, I care about you."
Rimuru put his hand out to fist-bump him back.
As soon as they fist bump.
"I'll make you fall for me one day." Lucifer winked mischievously and disappeared.
"Bastard." Rimuru whispered under his breath.
'Does he really think I'll fall for him? I'm not into that stuff but how come I feel sad that he's gone? He's been annoying me with his flirtiness lately, I should be happy that he's gone.' Rimuru thought inwardly confused about how he felt.
*Sigh*
'Did you just sigh [Great Sage]?'
'[Great Sage]!'
'Don't ignore me!!' Rimuru pouted inwardly but just left it alone.
"Alright everyone, get back to work." Rimuru told everyone.
(Lucifer POV)
I was already a good distance away from the others, I'm about to exit the forest.
I plan to go to Ingracia and become an S-class adventurer, get some money, and find a certain potential partner.
Feeling someone watching me, I instantly turn my head in a certain direction but it seems like nothing is there.
I keep watching until suddenly a light bulb lit up in my head.
Looking in a certain direction I smile.
It's the potential partner I was looking for.
"Noir I'm coming for you." I mysteriously say looking at an empty valley.
(Unknown Dimension)
"Kufufufu, what an interesting person. He thinks just because he hangs out with such a special being, he himself is special? Kufufu, he is indeed strong, especially with the skill he used earlier against Charybdis but I should be able to deal with it. Regardless it seems I can use him in order to serve my future lord. What a delight!" A certain black-haired demon with strands of red hair exclaimed with a mysterious smile.
