Chapter 4: AND SO THE PIRATE ERA BEGINS…
A few days later, the world was shaken down to its core after Roger's final words were spoken. The Great pirate era had finally begun. Hundreds if not thousands of pirates set out to find his most prized treasure, One Piece. A sad bunch if you ask me, most of these people are just tough-guy wannabes who realize that fact only when they have entered the Grand line, a bit too late if you ask me. Just because you are a tough guy among those around you doesn't really mean that you have what it takes to thrive in adversities.
One thing I respect abut those people though is their bravery (or sheer bullheadedness) foe chasing after their dreams no matter how improbable it may be; something the old me lacked. I had run away from countless problems in my old life. But oddly, I don't regret it. Aside from the occasional 'what ifs' or 'whataboutisms', I never hated myself because at some point in my life, I had learned to cherish what I have and not yearn for the things that I don't have; and it finally sinks in that I have left all that I love behind.
It hurts. A lot. But crying won't bring them back. We all have our burdens to carry, and it would be my burden to accept these cherished memories of mine and move on. I have lost too much to be able to take this while lying down, the only option I am willing to take is to stand up and struggle against what fate has in store for me, whatever it may be…
Sad thoughts aside, I have good news, sort of. I am now successfully able to hold my meditative state for 5 minutes. I know it sounds so little but considering its only been a few days since I begun practicing and that I am actually honing my mind as I meditate, I'd say I'm doing great. Besides, any progress is good progress as long as it is in the right direction.
My end goal is to be capable of focusing my attention onto one particular thing for at least two hours. This can enable me to easily learn how to control my observation haki in the future, since by then I will have my hands full in improving my strength and less time to build mt foundations.
