Chapter 52: Public misconception

The night after EDEM annual gala changed people fate overnight.

One lost his life unexpectedly while another person blaming himself for the tragedy. A pair of brothers need to do a funeral proceeding, while another is laying low with her team to avoid unwanted attention.

For the Blakes, days after the gala was starting of nightmare and headaches. Everything turned out wrong, deals were cancelled and contracts were terminated. They felt like someone is putting pressure on them, but they don't know who!

David returned to his parent house after receiving a call from house butler, mentioning that his father called for a family discussion. Though David was the apparent heir of the Blakes legacy, he was never committed to it.

David was a typical rich second generation but he masked it perfectly. He actually prefer bedding his love of his life then going out running business. But since the Blakes running hotels, he would "site visit" eagerly.

Public misconception.

Reaching the Blake main house, David stopped his car at the driveway and went inside the house. House butler saw David's arrival, quickly greet him and lead him to family room where his family awaits.

"Your back, David" said Alven as he saw David entered the room.

"Yes, father." David reply as he entered the room and sit comfortably next to his mother. His father, Alvin Blake was in his late 40s, short hair with several grey one spotted here and there. His mother, Wilna Blake, is 3 years older than his father but appear much younger instead.

Wilna hold David's hands, missing her son deeply. David moved out from his parent house when he was 17, a week after his formal engagement party with Sophie Shane. He could come to visit them from time to time, but she still missed her son so much!

Talking about Sophie Shane, Wilda came to a realisation that her future daughter in law have not visited her for quite some time already. Around two years to be exact! Sophie would come to visit her at least once a month before.

Feeling odd, Wilna wanted to ask this to David, but before she could voice out her inquiry, her husband started conversing with their son. As women in the Blake family that forbid them to interrupt when discussing about business matter, Wilna kept her silence and just listening.

'I'll asked him about that later.'
