Chapter 2: Learning new things
It was noon time when Lala woke up the following day, she looked around and saw the unfamiliar room and the slight difference in her clothe, then she remembered the event of the previous day and quickly got off bed. She opened the door to the room and peeped through, she saw the old woman sitting on a mat in the sitting room which was sparsely furnished but neatly decorated, two other ladies were sitting beside her, they seem to be engrossed in their conversation and did not notice the stare coming from the room behind them. She overhead the old lady telling the girl on her right to go to the room and check on her, she quickly retreated back to the room and lay back on the bed as though she was still sleeping. The girl came to the room and placed her palm on Lala's forehead, probably trying to check her temperature. she wasn't running a fever though. The girl let out a long sigh and pinched Lala's cheek, she saw her blinked her lashes and chuckled at the act, she caught on... this lass was only pretending to sleep!.
Wake up girl... I don't understand much of English language Okay? the girl said trying to get Lala out of bed
Lala opened her eyes and smiled at the girl, she has a fair skin like milk and a petite body with white set of teeth, and judging by the way she spoke just now, she's probably one of Madam Han's people. She was at least grateful that she has someone of her age range to converse with. The girl introduced herself as Hye Rim, her English was not so good but she was able to still express herself.
Lala didn't utter a word and only smiled at the girl, she got off bed and followed the girl to the sitting room where Madam Han was. She bowed as a sign of respect and greeted the old lady, but was met with a wild glare. Speak! then I can consider accepting your greetings, the old lady said shifting her gaze from the room.
Ohhh... *cough, cough* Good Morning Ma'am, hope you had a nice night? Lala said looking shyly at the old lady on the mat.
Yes, thanks to someone, I could not sleep all through the night *scoffs*
I had to go to her room every now and then to check on her and be sure she hasn't jumped the window and escaped. The old woman whined.
Escaped? am I a prisoner? why should I have escaped? I don't have a reason to. Lala thought without looking away from the old woman and replied in a soft tone. I am really grateful Ma'am, I do hope there's a way I can repay the good deed.
Of course there's a way, marry my grandson, the old woman said with a straight face
Lala: ..What??
Why are you glaring? hnn? I rescued you from the police, brought you to my home and gave you my precious food. Oh my!! you even had the guts to waste my food! I gave you a comfortable bed to sleep and still going to feed you for some few more days. what else can you do girl? I didn't even get a Thank you. Just marry one of my grandsons and I will forgive you Okay? I have three of them and I'll allow you make a pick.
