Chapter 5: Establishing A Hunting Ground

With the body of the small 10 years old Forest Mice, tightly wrapped by numerous strands of grass, trapped and bound by Yao Zi's {Dance of a Hundred Grass Blades} spirit beast skill.

He then drags the bounded body of the 10 years old Forest Mice against the ground, scraping some dirt and soil into the cut wounds of the little creature's body, on over towards his current location, his hiding spot.

As the little creature, the 10 years old Forest Mice screams, it violently squirms, kicking itself around on the ground, trying its best desperately in an attempt to escape from Yao Zi's fine grasped. However, its pointless struggle was quite hopeless, and only serves to further tired itself out, and exhaust all of its remaining energy.

And once the body of the 10 years old Forest Mice has arrived in front of Yao Zi's location, his towering predator like figure completely scares the little creature to death.

The 10 years old Forest Mice spirit beast was breathing heavily, having exhausted all of its strength and every energy within its body in order to escape from Yao Zi's grasp, which proofs to be quite fruitless.

It then decided on the spot to resigned itself to fate, accepting its unavoidable death by the hands of Yao Zi, as it peacefully and quietly closes its eyes in utter submission.

Having seen how the 10 years old Forest Mice spirit beast reacted, Yao Zi was quite perplexed, and thought seemingly to himself, 'That's new!'

'As a sign of acceptance, I will certainly make your death as much painless as possible.' He thought.

Yao Zi's head then drew near towards the body of the 10 years old Forest Mice spirit beast, as his snake fangs quickly pierced into the body of the 10 years old Forest Mice spirit beast, penetrating through the layer of the cranium which is part of the skull, directly stabbing into the little creature's brain.

Yao Zi then secretes his paralysis venom into the brain of the 10 years old Forest Mice spirit beast, which thereby interrupts and stops the proper functional parts of the little creature's brain. And it also disrupts all essential messages that are being conveyed and transmitted to the rest of the little creature's body.

In all senses, the paralysis venom completely blocks the 10 years old Forest Mice's pain receptor, thereby making it unable to feel pain as it suffers an anguishing death at the hands of Yao Zi.

Yao Zi then swallows the body of the 10 years old Forest Mice whole, as the little creature slowly bleeds to death inside the stomach of Yao Zi, due to the fatal head injury it incurred by Yao Zi's hands.

[You have killed a 10 (7) years old Forest Mice! Plus 7 blood essence points!]

Sometime later, the body of the 10 years old Forest Mice spirit beast is completely broken down by Yao Zi's strong stomach acid, and slowly being converted into nutrients to sustain his own personal growth. At the same time, the little creature's cultivation base is thereby absorbed and being assimilated into his own.

[You have successfully absorbed the cultivation base of the 10 (7) years old Forest Mice, thereby solidifying your own cultivation base!]

[Your cultivation base has increased by 7 years old! Plus 70 points into the host attribute spiritual power stats! All stats have been increased!]

'Status!' Yao Zi recited the keyword inside his head in order to summon his status board.

You have 45 blood essence points]

'I've certainly grown a little stronger after consuming the 10 years old Forest Mice. Though I've definitely gathered enough blood essence points in order to upgrade my bloodline.' Yao Zi thought so to himself, conspiring something.

'It takes roughly 25 blood essence points in order to upgrade the bloodline of a spirit beast. With the Ordinary grade bloodline being divided into four subcategories; low, mid, high, and peak similar to the old ways of cultivation in the immortal cultivation world.' Yao Zi explains.

Further continuing on his explanation of the whole bloodline thing, 'With each upgrade of the spirit beast bloodline, the cost of blood essence point increases by the same amount as the initial cost of the bloodline upgrade. And there is an unlikely chance that a mutation will occur, triggered by the strengthening of a spirit beast bloodline, with the likelihood of a special physique or new spirit skill being generated.'

So Yao Zi then decided to upgrade his spirit beast bloodline without a second of thought.

[You have strengthened your bloodline! Your spirit beast bloodline grade has been upgraded from Ordinary - {Lower Rank} to Ordinary - {Middle Rank}! Plus 5 attribute points into all stats attributes! 25 blood essence points have thereby been consumed!]

Yao Zi could instinctively feel a minor increase within his physical body strength, and possibly his spiritual power capabilities.

Yao Zi then thought to himself, 'The next bloodline upgrade would cost me approximately about 50 blood essence points, which is not much when I've already got 20 blood essence points in total in my remaining reserves.'

'I need to hunt more in order to acquire more blood essence points in order to upgrade my spirit beast bloodline.' Yao Zi commented.

'In order for me to do that. I need to establish myself a hunting ground for the time being.' Yao Zi thought, as he then immediately comes up with a plan, with his quick wittiness.

Yao Zi then immediately activated his spirit beast ability {Dance of a Hundred Grass Blades}, as piles on blades of grass then sprouted out from the ground, within three to four meters radius surrounding himself at the centre.

The field of grass blade would naturally blend in with the foresty surroundings, and amplified the camouflaged of his hideout, making it unlikely for another individual to discover his hideout.

At the same time, the numerous strands of grass blade would definitely act as extensions to his wellbeing, which he could freely control with a mere thought. It definitely takes a lot of spiritual power in order to summon up a whole field of blade grass, but little amount of spiritual power in order to maintain it.

The idea and plan of execution are similar to that of a spiderweb trap, in which a spider will build its own sticky spiderweb ness, and in all livelihood, an unsuspecting prey will wander in and then immediately gets trapped by the stickiness of the spiderweb.

The strands of spiderwebs are definitely connected to the many legs of the spider, and when a prey is caught trapped within its web. The constant vibrations caused by the prey will definitely alert the spider of the prey's presence.

From there, all the spider would need to do is kill the prey and eat the corpse, or save it up by preserving it within its own spiderweb and drying the meat out.

Here in which Yao Zi's plan will greatly differ, as Yao Zi would instinctively utilise his fork snake tongue to catch the scent of another spirit beast. And if that unsuspecting spirit, unfortunately, wanders within the territory of his grass field, the numerous blade of grass would then immediately wraps themselves around the body of the creature.

It would then buy enough time for Yao Zi to quickly arrive at the target's precise location, in which he will then immediately injects his snake paralysis venom into the spirit beast body, thereby possibly paralysing the little creature.

Afterwards, all that he needed to do is simply kill it, killing the spirit beast or little creature, Yao Zi has two alternative choices.

One is to repeatedly stab or cut the creature up with his numerous blades of grass, and slowly wait for the creature to bleed to death. Or another option is to wrap his snake-like body around the creature or its neck and strangle the creature to death.

Death by strangulation is definitely more painful than slowly bleeding to death, but all in a likelihood produces excellent results of killing another creature.

'And that is how snake on Earth usually hunts anyways. I don't see anything wrong in that.' Yao Zi commented, villain, monologing to himself, as he steadily puts his future plans into action.
