Chapter 177: Chapter 167 Quick goodbyes

Yes, I finally have my own POV back!

Anyway, I am currently fucking around the academy, doing my own thing and minding my own business.
This is mainly because I have this bad feeling. It began a few days ago and just wouldn't stop, so I always find myself wandering around school with a lost look on my face, mostly staring out windows towards Avalon like an anime protagonist.
Illya, Chloe and Alice always have bloody noses when this happens.
But more than anything, they, along with the rest of the class and Ranga, are concerned.
Not only them, but Tiss, Jeff and his A Class also came up to me a couple of times, wondering if anything is wrong.
And for them, I always had the same answer.
"I am pondering on the secrets of life…"
And for me, they always had the same reply.
"You're just a Rimuru, that's too much for you."
I died emotionally several times.
But in any case, I gave Benimaru the Dogecoin. If he infuses even the tiniest sliver of his magicules into it, I'll get a signal that something is wrong and I'll rush back home.
But there hasn't been any sort of signal yet. And even if something happens, Benimaru is strong enough to at least send a signal first before something serious happens to him.
So… it should be fine… right?

Rimuru was correct, Benimaru is strong enough to at least send a signal even if something happens.
But he didn't. At least, he didn't see a need to at first.
Shogo, Kyoya and Kirara are scrubs that don't need Rimuru's presence. Benimaru's judgement on not calling Rimuru was indeed a valid one.
It's just that Bryce is a bit outside of Rimuru's expectations… ok, he's WAY outside of his expectations. I mean, a True Dragon attacking Avalon? There are only three True Dragons in the world, four if you include Gaia that's with Milim. And Veldora hasn't even resurrected yet (according to Illya).
Benimaru would've used the Dogecoin the moment he realised how much of a threat Bryce posed, but he only realised that the moment he got hit in the chest and got sent flying like Team Rocket. He got knocked out for a bit.
However, during the time Mikoto was contemplating just giving herself up so Bryce could leave everyone else alone, Benimaru woke up and used the coin just before convincing Mikoto not to go through with whatever she was thinking.
(MC POV)
Rimuru- "… Hmm?"
Illya- "Onii-chan?"
Ranga- 'Master?'
Rimuru- "… Shit. We gotta go. Now."
Hearing the serious tone in my voice, Illya figured out what was going on and just followed me. Ranga didn't even need to understand what was going on, I could tell him to destroy a country just because I feel like it and he would listen.
I went looking for Illya to which I found her pretty easily. She was with Ranga, pampering him by petting and scratching him all over.
I explained to them that we're probably going to have to return to Avalon soon, but I immediately got a signal from the Dogecoin so I can't go at my own pace anymore.
Now is the time to start rushing.
Ranga jumps into my shadow and Illya hugs my arm. I use [Spatial Ruler] to quickly teleport into the S Class classroom, to which I find all 5 of my students already there.
Good.
Now that I think about it, I've already been calling them MY students instead of Shizu's students. I guess I really like these kids…
Wait, now's not the time.
Rimuru- "Something popped up so I'll be heading back to Avalon. Been nice seeing you guys, I'll come back when I have the time. Could be in a few hours, a few days, weeks, or months. But one day. See ya!"
And so I teleport back to Avalon, nearly missing the stupefied faces on the kids' faces.
After Rimuru left, the kids stayed like that for a whole five minutes before they started sniffling and then shifting to full-on crying their eyes out.

I instantly arrive in Avalon to find…
Everything is normal. If there's any difference is that the city has developed even more while I was gone and seems to be nearly finished.
But even so, I quickly teleport to my office where my clone works all the time. I don't find him though.
Where is he anyway?
Illya- "Onii-chan."
Illya tugs my sleeve and points to something on the desk.
I grab it and take a look at it. It's a note.
It says "Goodbye, I'm on vacation."

.
Motherfucker.
But still, there's someone else who can help.
I turn towards the loli to my side. I see her with closed eyes, seemingly concentrating.
I would've liked to get the info directly from my clone since he was here the whole time and should know what's going on, but now that he's not here I have to turn to Illya for help.
Using [Universal Sense], she gathers information from all over the city. It'll take a few seconds to get a good grasp on what's going on.
Illya- "… Attack. Farmus. Four intruders went ahead of the main army. Benimaru and the others have them locked in the Mirror Dimension."
Rimuru- "And the army itself?"
Illya shakes her head.
Illya- "Won't be here any time soon."
That means the crisis has to do with those "intruders" already in the Mirror Dimension.
Then I don't need to stay here any longer.
First, I fuse with Illya once again. I'm most likely going into a battlefield, I want to be prepared.
Next, I invoke my Unique Skill.
[Spatial Ruler].
Teleporting into the Mirror Dimension I come face to face with Mikoto who has gone through a stunning transformation, making her even more beautiful than normal.
And I also come face to face with a fucker stabbing its hand into Mikoto's chest.
At that moment, it felt like my world broke more than the shattered skies of the Mirror Dimension.
