William's squad was quite unusual in that the 12 men that made up the squad had been raised in the same orphanage, in the midst of this time of war soldiers were needed and the army paid well, so it was a good outlet for those who did not have resources to study.

William sighed, he had already been baptized under the cruelty of war and he knew that a sea of blood was soon waiting for him, as he remembered some experience from the past, he could see a blinding light in the direction of the town, the light was as bright as a sun .
Luckily William was carrying special glasses that protected his eyes, however, he was able to recognize that light and knew that the worst had happened, so he quickly closed the hatch, took his communicator and shouted, "turn on the shields now".All the men in the platoon had been surprised by the sudden brightness, William's voice served to wake them from their momentary trance, and quickly the tanks were placed in each corner of the convoy making a kind of square formation and soon a semitransparent sphere of a light blue cast enveloped all vehicles.
The blinding light began to spread throughout the desert and in less than a minute it reached the formation of tanks, time passed slowly and the flash began to disappear leaving death and destruction in its wake.
On the other hand, in the place where William's squad was, there was no trace left, not even scattered debris from the force of the impact or molten metal from the heat of the explosion, it was as if they had disintegrated.
Although William's face was serious, he was somewhat anxious about the situation, the shield technology was experimental and had only been tested with bullets and small explosions, it was not known how it would react to a nuclear explosion.
During the activation of the shield any opening of the tank was completely sealed including the cannon, so they had no data from the outside, all they could do was hope and pray that the shield would withstand the blast.
As time passed, a burning smell began to be perceived inside the tank, Jack who was the vehicle's gunner suddenly spoke "sir, the shield generator is generating smoke", both William and the tank pilot turned their heads quickly, and saw one of the corners on the roof of the tank, where there was a transparent tube that had some kind of blue fluid swirling inside.
The tube was beginning to release a light cloud of smoke that was beginning to darken over time, seeing the situation William had no choice but to deactivate the shield generator, once deactivated, the emetic seal of the tank was deactivated and the exterior soon was visible to the tank crew.
They were no longer in the middle of the desert, now they were in the middle of a totally green plain, to the north and west you could see a mountain range, to the east there seemed to be an immense sea and to the south the plain extended, William's Tank did not it was the only one that had had shield generator failure, so the other 3 tanks had also disabled their own shield generator.
The 12 soldiers contemplated the strange landscape where they were, after all a few seconds ago they were in a desert and now they were in a plain, William took the communicator and spoke "I want a damage report from each unit, Will, Jack and Anderson , take the drones that are in vehicle 3 and do a reconnaissance of the place, Rick tries to communicate with the command center ".

Tank n2 was commanded by Arthur, the driver was Anderson and the gunner Henry, tank n3 was commanded by Roy, driven by Will and the gunner was Agust and finally tank n4 was commanded by Charles, driven by Hans and the gunner It was Glem.
The 12 men moved fast and soon had results, apparently the shield generator on each tank had overheated and shorted out which led to a malfunction rendering them unusable, due to the technical complexity of the generator it could not be fixed. due to lack of tools and parts.
Each driver had been trained to be the mechanic of his own tank, so giving a general evaluation was not difficult, on the other hand, all communications had been cut, no satellite phone was working, the GPS system and any other system were also working. that needed a satellite connection or an internet connection to work was out of order.
As for the aerial reconnaissance, a kind of town had been seen in the south several kilometers away, when watching the video it was possible to see quite rudimentary wooden constructions, the people who could be seen had clothes that seemed to be old, as taken of the feudal age of the earth.
The 12 men were analyzing the strange situation in which they found themselves, without contact with the command center, without positioning instruments and without communications they really did not know where they were.
